Hi Roxie :)
Ice tea "clink".

Hi Oodles :)
WAY TO GO!!!
Fantastic progress! Keep up the great work you are doing and YES, you can have all rooms livable by XMas. :D

Back from the dentist! :D
My teeth are fixed!
Next month I have an appointment for a cleaning but that doesn't worry me.
More good news to report too.
The vascular surgeon has cleared him to return to work. Next Monday he goes back to work with a few limitations.
YEA!!!!!
Things are starting to get back to normal around here.

Thanks for your support, Tillie, and everyone.

I am reading with delight each of your entries. Please excuse a short message from me today, as I am very tired and blah.

I don't have plans for today but getting through it. I do need to make a dr appointment to get a new subscription for a sleeping pill. At least I am turning off the light at an earlier hour each night, even if I stay awake. Trying to figure out in my head all that needs to be done at my house in Arkansas and what to do to get rid of it and the acreage. Makes me even more tired. ;0

Hugs and coffee clinks. I AM thinking of you all.

Good morning :)

Hi CriticalMass :)
WAY TO GO!!! pushing through the funky mood and accomplishing some tasks! :D
Good luck sorting out that nagging paperwork task today.
I totally understand how you feel about dentists. As a child I too was abused by a sadistic dentist. (((HUGS)))

Hi Tatoulia :)
WooHoo! for getting busy to the music! WTG! :D
True, sometimes all we need to feel better is to just do something positive. Even something small like brushing our hair. (((hugs)))
Diane has a broken computer. :(

Well, yesterday was hard.
Didn't sleep well the night before, then went to the dentist.
Came home and just needed to de-stress and was so sleepy, too sleepy to think straight.
Unfortunately, the dental office had an opening to fit me in for the work to be done tomorrow.
So today I am working to not get myself all upset.
I will be very happy when this is over and done with and I can eat properly again. :)
I have known Dr.H for many years. He is a very skilled, gentle and kind dentist.
He will be doing a crown on the broken molar and while I am there and all numb anyway he will do a small surface filling on a bicuspid.
Today I am baby sitting 3 dogs and 3 cats. They are at their own home nearby and I just need to periodically make sure they are all ok. Their people will be home this evening.

TTYL :D

Tatoulia, thanks for the nice compliment! :) I feel at home here and blessed by the wonderful give and take and encouragement we all share. What's not to love! :)

I was kind of bummed yesterday - I think it was just that I was having one of those mentally disorganized times. The kind when you don't know where to start, and a pessimistic mood lurks waiting to ensnare you. I did accomplish a couple of minor tasks despite it, but I confess to having a pity party some of the time. Better today, though.

Today I have to go somewhere so the day will be a bit broken up, but I found a portable, pick-up and put-down type paperwork task that should fit in with the time constraints, and it's something that's been nagging at me anyway.

Good day all, and happy decluttering!

So I out on some Stevie Wonder and got to work! Shredded some papers (working on pile that's still on my soon to be given away coffee table), got the dishes in the dishwasher, washed my unmentionables and hung up to dry, gathered up garbage and recycling and put out back and folded and put away laundry on chair in bedroom. Still lots more to go and I can see I own too much stuff. I've been adding rather than subtracting. This is no good. I need to remind myself that when I feel frustrated or upset, that doing something, anything makes me feel better.

And another week begins . . . hello everyone!

Tillie, I can sure relate to the dental phobia. I had bad dental experiences growing up and my dentist was insensitive to my anxieties. When I was old enough to have a say-so, I never returned to him. Or any other dentist for the most part. I said goodbye to two cracked molars rather than endure the root canal/crowning process - and I did so under IV sedation, thank you very much.

Oodles - you are doing so well, keep going. You are a survivor of so much, it sounds like, and there's a reason - God has something special for you, if you're not a believer, just believe that good is going to come of all what you're going through and have been through. You're inspiring US here to keep going and the bond of friendship we're building is a positive thing! :)

No more projects until there is Oodles negative. I only accomplished 3/4 not near enough but that is ok I did a lot. I wish I had money to take a leave from work but I don't so, I need to work on it as I can and give up all of my weekends until done.

Good job on progress/hello to all - 5.5 days until daughter moves back. Feeling anxious & stressed today. May not have a grasp on what is important to make the move happen. Daughter is sick today in fact has not helped all week. She is recently discharged from hospital TBI so I am trying to take on the world & failing miserably. I go back to work tomorrow & only have evenings. Goal: If I can get 1 room cleared/re-carpeted that is min then anything else is a bonus. I may get a fine for lawn so be it. Having Crohns, Asthma, TBI/lightning strike & Fibromyalgia is like someone said "go" at the starting line & you just fall over or you are the turtle. Your brain still thinks like you can just get it done but, your body says "naaawww" not today. Then TBI lightning strike throws in disorganization. If you like hard puzzles you can have my life. I try to laugh at it every day to keep going. Here I go! Thanks for listening.

Good Morning! :)

Hi Roxie :)
Yes, I think all the phone calls you made did wear you out. (((hugs)))
Happy you did your medicine routines in spite of being so exhausted.
Your day was not a write off, sometimes the most important thing to do is to listen to our bodies and rest as much as we need to.

Hi LR2014 :)
Welcome back, glad you enjoyed yourself!
YEA!!! WTG!!! on the vehicle progress. :D

Hi Coralie :)
That's a great plan to have safe pathways through the rooms and around the furniture.
Wishing you good luck!

I am a nervous wreck this morning worrying about that dental appointment tomorrow.
So I will throw myself into some project here to keep me busy and keep my mind off my senseless fears.
Looks like there is a wildfire somewhere out here since the morning sunshine is tinted orange.
Have a medium size lizard in my garden and his tail is almost twice his length. Very pretty. :)
Marty (the cat) is super depressed since I have been keeping him inside to stop him from playing with the baby bunnies. No cats have been allowed outside except Twinkles. Silly old thing has no teeth and just likes to take naps in the grass.
There has been some progress with the garage hoard I am happy to report.
With all this time he has had off work recovering he has been chipping away at the edges of his hoard and the goat path through the center of the garage is noticeably much wider now. :D
OK, I am off now to find something physical to do to help calm my nerves. :)
Everybody, try to have a wonderful day today.

Sunday morning, 6:15 and I'm sitting on the floor with my laptop and a big black bag while some fresh sea breeze cools down the living room.

With the final bit of my hoard now scattered all over the floor (it's horrible! I should never have decided to muster the troops together... Oh, why did I do that? It was over two months ago), I'm trying to get a little bit more of general decluttering done in my living room today.
My aim is to have a proper and safe "pathway" going all the way through the living room and around all the furniture before it's time to leave for Sunday family time.

::coffee clink::
I am quite befuddled as I finally woke up. I know I was awake at 9am because I did the full respiratory treatment and was able to ward off a scary exacerbation of the COPD and heart issues. Bro was gone for the day and it was hard not to panic. Going back to sleep when I finally got a grip on the situation seemed to be the right thing to do.

Party next door but they are reasonably quiet so I don't mind. I can still sit on the front porch and watch the day end.

I think all the phone calls exhausted me physically and emotionally. I still keep finding things that used to come easy come much harder now with the health issues.

Tillie and Oodles, way to go with the cleanouts and plans for the stuff going elsewhere.

I'll have to consider today a write-off but I guess that is okay. There's tomorrow to come.

Hugs all around.

Having a good day. Half way done with spare bdrm clean out. (cheer....& the crowd goes wild aaaaahhhhhh) Removing everything. Then will rip up & replace carpeting. This will allow me to clear the other larger room for re-carpet. Suprisingly able to toss without "THE GUILT CLOUD". What helps is there is no mice stuff in this room & I started early. Breaks over going back in. I will try to participate in supt group next wk after my daughter has moved back in.

Good Morning Everybody :)

Hi Roxie :) "clink!"
WAY TO GO!!! for making calls and doing all that other work on the financial stuff! :D
Your folder file system sounds like a real winning system.
Wish I could email you a chest of drawers that I no longer have a need for.
Having a proper place to put clothes and stuff always makes it easier to tidy up.

Hi Jess :)
LOL, yeah that was funny! :D

OK, I made the DDS appointment for an evaluation on Monday. Will find out then when they can schedule me for the work.
I evaluated the tooth myself and know that the only fix will be to crown it.
My neighbor friend is planning a late summer/early autumn yard sale.
I always join in and manage to sell enough to make it worth my time.
After the sale we box up all leftovers and call for the MS truck to come take the stuff so that nothing comes back into our homes.
Any bedding and linens type stuff we drop off at the local animal shelter for the animals to sleep on.
I have been gathering up items and box them as I find them. Amazing how much I have already! :D
Went out this morning to admire the morning glories and ended up spending about 15 minutes pulling weeds. Made a nice improvement in such a short amount of time. :)
Today I need to water lilacs, trees and mountain laurels and clean the kitchen.
Not making many dirty dishes since I am afraid to eat much right now. LOL :D

Hope you all have a GREAT day today! :D

Greta, you can muster the strength and whatever self-protection you need to power through whatever comes. You can work on appropriate boundaries with others in order to protect yourself and make relationships healthier. I think that reading the hoarding books recommended can make a big difference.

For myself as a hoarder, I watched a lot of the tv shows and it took me a long time for it to click in that I had some of the same problems. Denial is a "wonderful thing." lol The difference is that I final came to a time and awareness that enabled me to reach out for help.

CM, watching and cheering from the sidelines.

Tillie, I think we must be sisters in some way, with our mutual love of nature, at minimum. I also had a background in general dentistry assistance then in periodontal surgery. Dentists don't bother me and in fact I've watched work done on me. I DO also need to find a dentist here and get busy again. Got one broken tooth, need a good cleaning, and probably more fillings.

I am proud that I finally made a bunch of calls to get things rolling with creditors (mainly hospital and individual physicians). I'm thinking of doing a timeline on hospitalizations so I can mentally sort out what I've been dealing with and collect some records.

I sent of for records for my doctor here to get records from my colonoscopy done in 2009 so the doctors here can figure out how long or if they should continue to postpone dealing with my gall bladder. Reluctance has to do with breathing issues and the impact of anesthesiology.

Today I will use some of the new hanging folders and begin putting folders into portable file folder boxes so there is less mess around my computer. Need to figure out a bill-paying chart so I don't miss payments. Need to contact credit unions regarding illegal report of the collection agency AT&T used, and get that off my record.

I still need to tackle my bedroom, which is quite messy. It's difficult because there is no good clothes dresser, but I'll figure things out.

Coffee clinks to all.

Good Morning Everybody :)

Hi CriticalMass :)
Great! that you are filing papers on your computer.
That is such a wonderful way to handle paperwork clutter.

Hi Roxie :)
"clink!"
Hoping you have been enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible. :D

Hi Greta :)
Hope you enjoy your little "get-away".
Catnip is easy to grow and I have never met a cat yet who didn't love the fresh mint. :D

Sorry about not posting these past few days.
Broke a molar and need to get it crowned and this has made me extra depressed and I have been pouting and having a "pity party".
My professional training is as a dental assistant and then as a surgical assistant for oral maxillofacial surgery.
But I HATE being the patient and have a fear of going to the dentist.
I also have a huge phobia about being touched by humans. I'm ok with animals touching me which is good since the cats are always sitting on me. :D

Anyways, time for my little pity party to end.
Today I will call and make the dental appointment.
Also planning to straighten and vacuum.

TTYL :)

Tillie, so my health is good just need to gain some wait back. My mom and I are still not in a great place with our relationship but for now I am just going with head down and plow though; she still upset about her stuff which she has yet to go though all stuff we took to her barely even looked at it.
I am glad your infection is doing better that is great. May be we should grow catnip for ours he prolly love it!
On happy note we are going away for a few days next week part me can't and part of me feels guilty but know I shouldn't.
I hope you get more and more butterflies to enjoy.

Good afternoon, :::clink:::: first coffee of the day. Still struggling with sleep, will talk to dr about some more sleep pills to turn it around.

CM, way to go on your use of the computer to get rid of paperwork. Make sure you back up your computer often and/or use a stick to save what you have.

Tillie, I told my bro about catnip so now we plan to add that to the landscape! He got a hummingbird feeder we still need to put up (as well as the bat house). Enough bugs here to feed a lot of them. hehe For me, also, watching and/or interacting with animals and nature relaxes me, as well as being around water.

Oodles, you are doing so well! Isn't it that brother who wants to by the house? If so, he needs to do much of the work or pay for it. Pay you or hire some folks to help. Just my nosy opinion. Goodwill must be happy to see you coming nowadays, too. :)

Greta, thanks for the information re hospital bills. I will check out Act 80. How's it going with you healthwise and with your mom and you? Remember you always have support here, and in some good books recommended here.

I saw my first bumble bee here yesterday, plus another Monarch and a butterfly that was more yellow than a Monarch. Yea! Today I have to order prescription refills plus maybe pay a couple of bills and check online re my banks accounts. I'm struggling with becoming more reclusive again so I'll let my bro get me out shopping or something. He had a friend come by the other day but I had to withdraw because the guy is so loud, so fast speaking, and sort of overwhelmed me. ick

Thinking of you all. Coffee clinks again.

Had a good morning - entered some financial stuff into the computer and then was able to toss/shred the papers.

In case it helps anyone else, I've also found some Android apps for dealing with paper - one that you take a picture of a paper and it converts it into a PDF. Another that has OCR character reading and actually converts into text that you can edit. Let me know if you want more details on these.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi :)

Sort of had a lazy day today.
Was out watering and saw the first bumble bee I have seen in four years.
Good to see one and hope they are repopulating this area. :D
Still have a baby bunny invasion.
This summer there are also a lot more lizards, all different species too.
Finally some positive progress with whole leg artery fiasco and surgery. Infection seems to be gone and the incision site has finally begun to close.
Have been talking with the home health nurse about all sorts of things we are both interested in.
Flowers, crafts/hobbies and lots of other stuff.
Of course she had noticed I live with a hoarder, so naturally we talked about clutter too.
She isn't a hoarder but with her busy work schedule things had tended to pile up around her home.
Clutter.
This past week her and her friend tackled her house and removed a ton of stuff and organized the rest.
She is so happy with the results. :)

Good Morning Everybody! :D

Hi Roxie :) "clink!"
There have been a few dozen Monarch butterflies through my garden this year, but not nearly as many as used to fly by this area.
The bee population is still strong here but haven't seen any bumble bees in four years.
I have found that having flowers that attract butterflies also attracts a lot of humming birds.
I allow the catnip mint to grow tall and go to seed because they all like the flowers and the seeds draw flocks of tiny little finches.
Wishing you lots of good luck getting those bills all sorted out.
Once you get used to the walking exercise bet you will notice improvement in your sleep and other areas. (((HUGS)))

Hi Greta :)
Wishing you a beautiful day today.
Yes, I did get more rest last night, thank you.
When people cause me grief and stress I like to think about the things in life that bring me peace and enjoyment, like watching animals.
Better to concentrate on them rather than the negative thoughts. (((hugs)))

Hi Oodles :)
Good luck with your project for today!
Unfortunately, people have different/other priorities.
Working on the floor is a priority to you but to your brother it is something that can be put off till later.
It is very common.

Cloudy, over cast, cool day here today.
Should try to get in a little yard work today.
Need to empty the fridge and wipe it all down. It's not too bad, yet.
And right now it's pretty empty.

Roxie a butterfly garden sounds wonderful,. The hospital bills yuck but from previous experience they will set up a payment plan and if their payments are to high pay what you can they can not charge interest on the unpaid part I also think there is a thing call act 80 that may really help but I could be wrong but. Things here are still the same not looking forward to today have to down with my mother and due bills already stressing about that because she was nasty on the phone yesterday oh well I guess I will just accept it and due the best I can. I looks like it's going to be a beautiful sunny warm day for a change just maybe no rain for a change.

So glad to see more posters today! :::coffee clinks:::: first cup of the day, slept til the afternoon!

CM, wonderful to have success with the papers, and to utilize a small sorting table going forward.

Jess, congrats on finishing the hanging files! I need to get some of those for myself. I do have many things sorted now into folders, but no place to put them. Working on that one.

Tat, love you, too!

Greta, thanks for the well wishes. How are things going for you now?

Tillie, as always, good to hear from you. I'd love to throw myself down in your yard and let the baby bunnies climb all over me. Heaven.

Got one piece of mail ready to go. I'm really groggy still from sleeping so late, but that's okay. Blood pressure is good, oxygen is good, so I'm happy.

Bro says he saw a Monarch butterfly twice now. I'm so excited because we are working on a Monarch garden to help support them in view of the heavy losses over recent years. Also trying to set up more garden areas for butterflies in general. And of course, want to attract bats.

I really need to call the hospital in Arkansas and start talking about how to pay off those bills, some of which have been sent to collection. It's complex. My FICO score has gone from something like 864 down to 640. AAARGH. One of the bad reports was due to illegal activity by AT&T so I need to get that removed, now that the Attorney General's office resolved the dispute I had with AT&T billing me for non-existent phone and services. Watch your bills, friends.

Sunny day today but more storms expected. Okay with that, too.

Need to get out and start walking, starting with five minutes, then working up to 30 minutes. Ick.

Hugs and coffee clinks to all.

Hi Greta :)
Wishing you a great day too. :D

Yesterday was one of "those" days here.
Didn't sleep well the night before and was extremely tired all day.
Maybe today I can get caught up with things here.

The cats can't go outside because the yard is full of teeny tiny baby cottontail bunnies right now.
Took one away from Marty (the cat) the other day.
Fortunately it was not hurt!
But it was so soft & warm & tiny and sweet and just sat quietly in my hand as I examined it. :D

Hello hello!

I finished organizing my papers, hanging file folders and all! Then I found a small amount in my closet that I had forgotten about *facepalm* But at least now there is a system in place. Actually, I needed some old W2s and I knew exactly where they were because I had just filed them. Amazing!

Today I plan to finish the new papers I found and I have to go take a drug test for work. Yesterday I took my car in because it was due for service.

Roxie, glad your cardiologist appt went well. Sounds like you're getting a lot done! Great job with your papers and all those other things you're checking off!

CM, awesome progress, paper buddy! I like when I find a good routine and place to sort stuff, it makes it go so much more smoothly for me. Keep it up!

Tat, it's good that you're recognizing the backsliding. Not too late to stop and refocus! Something I've been telling myself a lot lately is "this doesn't have to be perfect but it does have to be done" then I just start moving and I see where I end up. I'm rooting for you!

Tillie, I bet you could train a cat to clean an oven. They're smart, right? I'll try it with my dog and report back :)

Happy to report success with the papers. New goal is to do sorting of non-paper items that are in the way on bedroom floor. It dawned on me yesterday that I can use the same "bring it out and sort it on the little table" method with most of theses items as they are small.

Wishing everyone well with their goals and challenges. :)

Where is everyone?

Tatoulia, take one tiny step today. Perhaps you can grab just a handful of papers and commit to dealing thoroughly with just those papers today? I'm pushing, you!

I got two more loads of laundry down the chute, filled 3 grocery bags with donations for Goodwill, and further sorted a handful (Tat?!)of papers. Today I plan to do more of the same plus fill out deposit slip and mail that and a couple of checks off to my bank.

No sleep tonight. So I'm up getting a cup of coffee (::clink::) and plan to sit on the front porch and watch the town and critters wake up.

Hugs and good thoughts. We can do it!

Hugs and love to everyone. Glad to hear of the new job, Jess! Congratulations.

I am backsliding. I need to get my act together. My friend who came here last August is coming again this August. I have not tackled papers nor have I gotten the old coffee table out. I need help. I will find it here

Much love. I'll talk to you tomorrow.

::Snort!:: clean an oven? Back away, woman. LOL You need a self-cleaner for sure. Good luck with energy levels and getting stuff done.

Couldn't sleep for along time last night, so I cracked open the box of papers again and read through a lot of them. Need to tackle issues with the first hospital because I think there are some bogus charges, plus the way they bill is a set-up for bills to go to collection. For each visit there is a new file, instead of compiling charges by date under one patient number. BAH

I send down more laundry through the chute yesterday, also. Ordered and picked up pills, went to see the cardiologist (all okay), and helped bro sort through some bags of stuff the neighbor gave us (cleaning products and such).

Coffee clinks all around. Hugs to everyone.

Good Morning

We are back from the hospital with cautious optimism.

I am so far behind on everything here because his medical problems have been occupying all my time and energy since the end of February.
When I do have the time to do something, I just don't have the energy or any desire to do anything except rest.
Have a list of stuff needing to get done but have only been doing the daily and weekly tasks like bathroom, litter boxes, dishes and floors.
The neighbors who's house I have been caretaking will be home at the end of the week.
That will be nice to have one less obligation, plus I will get paid for my services. :)
Does anybody here want to come over and clean the oven for me?
Oh Well, it was worth the try... ;D

Hi CriticalMass :)
Great plan! :D
Bringing only a smaller more do-able amount of papers to the small table.
Some music would be nice too.
Best wishes that you come away after today with a GREAT feeling of satisfaction for a job well done. :D

CONGRATULATIONS!!! on getting the job! Jess :D
Thank you and thank you for sharing your days with us here. (((hugs))) :)

Hi Roxie :)
WTG! for sending down your laundry! :D
Fantastic! job with all you have been finding to donate, you're a wonderful role model. :D
WTG! with the banking!

Well, a major set back here...
He has started to develop serious issues with some of his toes on the leg that was operated on.
Lack of blood supply, need to find out if it's another blood clot or what.
Tomorrow he will see the vascular surgeon again.

Oh, and Jess, congratulations on the job. That will help a lot, I am sure. I need also to organize papers into folders and put them in one big box or something so I have access. Congrats on all your progress.

Oodles, CM, Tillie and all. So glad to hear of your progress. Tiny steps, medium or big steps, it all moves us forward.

Yesterday, I gathered a load of laundry and put it down the shoot for bro to do (hehe). I have more the collect and send down, plus an item or two I intend to hand wash. I had purchased a blouse that has accordion pleats on it so it is more fitted, but comfortable, and I love wearing it. So I want to be sure I launder it correctly.

I also sorted a few more books to donate. And I refilled my pill box for the week. Today I need to order refills. I need to prepare a couple of checks to mail to the bank for deposit. I also called and ordered a new box of checks since I'm undertaking paying my own bills (for which I am sure my son is happy).

You guys... I got a job! *faint* I start in a few weeks!

As far as my papers, I have it down to all the ones I actually need to keep. Only thing left to do is organize those keepers. I need to pick up some hanging file folders and then I should be able to wrap this up quickly.

I'm cheering for you, Oodles!! You can do it!

CM and Roxie, we can get these papers done! Let's all check this thing off our lists! Woo!

Tillie, you inspire me everyday with your work ethic and positivity! You are wonderful!

Thanks group, for sharing your lives with me. I'm so happy to be a part of this :)
