Hey

Lately some of the sentences were incomplete and then visible and so forth and so on.
Decided to try a new thread to see if that fixes it.

To not offend anybody with Triskaidekaphobia I made this phase 14.

See you soon πŸ˜‰

Was out watering the grass this evening, the wind picked up, gusting around.
Cowgirl Kitty came and was singing and dancing on the porch wanting some dinner.
I told her just a minute, soon as I relocate the sprinkler I'd feed her.

Got the sprinkler going, turned around just in time to witness this huge shiny gold balloon (number 2 shape) rushing over to get Cowgirl!
She was frozen in place with fear but managed to leap out of it's way just in the nick of time.
Then that evil balloon started chasing her!!! :O

She ran into the carport, balloon close on her heals.
But the balloon made a big mistake and got trapped in the middle of all the carport hoard.

Cowgirl was saved from that blood thirsty balloon that was going for her throat.
YEA!!!

The balloon is still out there though and there is no way to reach it. LOL πŸ˜€

I fed her her super.

Hi CriticalMass

Well, if you don't go to the store tomorrow that's alright.
I believe in a few more days things should level out and become more predictable.
The new , new "normal".

Hope Bunny's tummy is better and he's eating without prompting (((HUG)))

Tomorrow morning I plan to go to town and fill my water bottles.
The county health website has added one more covid19 infection, bringing our total up to 7.

Watching "Dark Shadows, the beginning" tonight.

Since I am so old and decrepit any more
I am terrified of getting the seasonal influenza.
I allowed my fear of flu to motivate me to overcome my fear of making/taking phone calls and I made a phone call.
Found out I can get a free "old person" strength flu shot in town on October 7th or October 13th.
I WILL be there!!! πŸ˜€

Wow, Tillie, he fixed it? Amazing! I'm so glad.

Tatoulia, I feel your pain as I try to avoid gaining the Quarantine 15. I'm already irritated enough that half my 30 that I lost in 2016-17 has returned through gradual creep.

I had a convergence of circumstances and internal motivation and discipline back then that made it easy to lose weight, and have not been able to duplicate that since. πŸ™ But I do remember a trick or two, like halving portion sizes. And I am taking those walks.

SubC, blackberries sound yummy. Roommate has plenty of them but the birds and critters get them first. Her other produce has been snitched as well. Tonight her dog was barking at a possum.

My room decluttering progress has slowed; I hope to pick it up this coming week. These days I feel somewhat sluggish, but time whizzes by. Dropped donations off for church sale. People were wearing masks.

Bunny club board meeting tomorrow, with masks and social distancing, and at the home of a gal very close by. No driving across town in the heat, though that means no extra bunnies to pet. Just one adorable little scamp, Bandit. She is 6 pounds of attitude in a 3 pound bag. Heehee.

I think I'm going to ask if anyone in the bunny club has room to store some of our event paraphernalia, door prizes, etc., that I really don't need to keep shuffling around making my own clutter worse. And my roommate and I talked about it; she had bought some of it, nothing expensive but I didn't want to presume - anyway, she was fine with my donating whatever the bunny club doesn't want to keep.

When I got the church sale donations out of storage this week, besides the bunny club stuff, I also saw some other good starter decluttering projects I could do - including a set of shelves that have been in an awkward spot and if I got them out I could push tubs back and have more room, thus making it easier to work and spot more stuff that can either go away or at least be neatened up a lot. So that's encouraging. Some of the ideas are even doable while it's still summer, in the cooler times of day.

Well, better get to bed. My time stamp says almost 1:00 local time. Being a night owl so much lately. Hoot.

Happy for your mom with her flowers, SubC. And wtg on 5 post it notes gone! *applause*

Tillie, I know what you mean about the tiny shoes, though I think they are in more danger of me stepping on one than anything. Wherever they went when they dropped must be out of sight. Irony is that one of them I found some months ago after it had been lost, then soon afterward I dropped it again and couldn't find it! 😜 Plus our kitties are usually pretty obvious when they find a surprise toy. Heh heh.🐱

I've got some art pieces and some blank paper for future use to go through. I think one doll shoe may turn up as I do that. If I can avoid stepping on it!

Tomorrow will be... interesting. Targets closed down at 4:00 today. We have two older malls, Towne East & Towne West. East closed early as well. They have had security issues for a long time.

Then there is the further out, more upscale and busy west end area, Newmarket Square. Target, Walmart, and other big box retailers, restaurants, etc. There have been threats on social media re that center, and several stores and restaurants there closed early too.

The big Dillon's grocery on the corner across from it was where my roommate wants to go sometime, but we don't have to right away. I had been thinking a few days ago of stopping by there and Newmarket tomorrow. Plans may change... if I check the news and it seems safe, I will not dawdle.

Otherwise, more quarantine, and if I can stay calm, perhaps some decluttering and catching up focus in the time at home. Maybe even art, writing, and sewing.

And praying for everyone's safety, for healing, for solutions.

Hello Everybody
Just about 12 noon here.

Hi Subclinical
Yes, I make ice! πŸ˜€

Sounds like you had a nice more laid back day yesterday.
Good!

Must keep rested during the Baby watch. πŸ˜€

So many food products come in very nice reusable plastic containers with good fitting lids.
When one of my rewashed/reused baggies won't seal any longer I use it for things where it's good enough just folded over at the top.

I have 4 assorted size round Pyrex "casserole" dishes with lids and use them all the time for food storage in the fridge and freezer.

Great plan to eat all the berries as they ripen and have your icecream later.
So happy you have lots of icecream and cheese.
Now, about the goat milk soap???
Think after the Baby comes you need to make yourself a batch.

Watered the Lilacs this morning and have the hose on slow watering trees now.
Don't need to spend much time outside, just move the hose to another tree after one tree gets watered for several hours this way.
This evening I will water the grass.

Everything is suffering with the heat.
But I think I am watering enough to at least keep it alive. LOL πŸ˜€

The cats have been drinking lots of their water too and I give them can food that I mush up with extra water sort of like a thick soup/stew.
Scooter's mousie is well hydrated laying at the bottom of the water bowl.

Steven actually spoke to me last evening.
?
He was not hysterical or screaming and swearing.
?
He came inside from the garage just to talk to/at me.
?
He talked about how ridiculous the mask mandate is.
He said he is claiming medical exception.
He has no medical reason not to wear a mask.
He went on & on for about half an hour about how nobody is getting sick or dyeing.

I did not argue or add much to his conversation.
Did not beg for the cooler to be fixed because I am afraid of him, his reaction.

CM, I hope the bunny feels better quickly!

I will have to find my links and go see all these pictures!

I got rid of FIVE post it notes today and one was the evaluations. They are all turned in!

Today Dad drove Mom to the Little local nursery where she always gets her spring impatiens for the flower beds. It is outdoors and there were three other women there, all wearing masks. Mom got her wagon (wiped the handle) and used it to block off The whole row. Then she carried her flats over to it and started to pull it to the counter, but the girl waved her off and said "load first, then come pay" because she was wiping the counter. So mom loaded, paid, sanitized and rode home. She said she was very shaky by the end of it, but it was good to get away from the house.

Tomorrow is my busy day away from the house - recycling drop and clean my classroom.

May October bring all of us blessings and peace. πŸ•Š

Oh Subclinical (((((HUG)))))
I am really hoping you are having an allergic reaction to the detergent.
Take care, get plenty of rest and try try try not to stress.

Doing worse this morning than I did after grocery shopping.
Believe it was carrying the water.
Anyways, I stripped my bed and washed everything.
Made up the couch for the first time in so many weeks.
Now I really hope this evening I will be able to pull out and make up my bed.

No baby yet.

Oh dear Tatoulia!

Shall I keep you updated on what kind of ice cream We're having? I'm actually stashing almost all of it in the deep freeze. Right now I'd rather eat blackberries.

I do have two of those bags. I don't use them very much. Somehow regular bags seem to come into my life a lot, and like Tillie I wash them until they fall apart. Actually, when they get a little hole or tear, I tape it and use them in the studio or classroom to keep small work from drying out. I reuse a lot of grocery containers too.

Have you seen the stretchy silicone bowl lids? Those I LOVE! I use them all the time. They fit on my square baking pans too. Most of my plastic Pyrex lids have aged and broken, so I bought the silicone instead of replacements.

I'm glad so many people are helping you out and looking forward to the laundry report!

Tillie, stay cool! Sit by the fans and play with your beads and drink lots of cool water. Do you have ice? Roll up a damp hand towel and stick it in the freezer or fridge to put against the back of your neck. You can use two and switch them out.

I did not do any of my exercise things yesterday. I picked green beans and washed some dishes and read and watched videos. Must do better today!

Well,

I made it through two days.

I now have a rash on the roof of my mouth that I have never had before and webmd says this can be a symptom that appears up to two days before other covid symptoms.

Or I could be allergic the the laundry detergent I used on my mask.....

I called my boss and gave her the information and let her make a ruling.

So, I have a sub for 1.5 classes, and I am teaching remotely for 1.5 classes, and I have a covid test scheduled for 6 pm.

Good Evening Everybody

Hello CriticalMass

Glad Bunny has his tummy medicine.

We can only plan day by day with the country as it is.
Your errands can be put off and anybody would understand why.
You need to put your peace of mind and physical safety first.

How about considering driving to a grocery store a little farther out?
They may also have a better selection of foods Roommate needs to get.

Hummmm.....
Tiny little missing Barbie shoes.....
Maybe, just maybe, and I am not pointing any fingers
but they would be perfect toys to bat around and stick under furniture and appliances. πŸ˜‰

Yes, George's funeral is planned for the ninth.
But we sure don't know when things will settle down.
When all four of those police involved in his death are properly charged and arrested and put in jail, maybe then?
But there are so many other police murders that have yet to be addressed. πŸ™

Good Evening Everyone

Hi Tatoulia
How nice you got to catch up with lots of people!
Nice that you got your car inspected for you too.

That's harsh. No more icecream. πŸ™
How about only Subclinical's or once a month till it gets cooler out?
Those fruit pops sound very refreshing.

YEA! for a new washer!!!
And you got to do the shopping for it so I am sure you will really like it.

I am glad you don't regret limiting your linens.
I don't regret anything I don't have any longer, I feel I have the right amount.
As things wear out I will replace them some day.

As the sun was fixin to set the wind picked up.
Really raging when I was out there watering the garden.
Well over 100F today and next three days supposed to be even hotter.
Was able to keep it at 88F in the house.
Finally down to 78F inside tonight but feels cooler with 3 fans going.

We got the medicine no trouble. Gave bunny a dose. He's about the same, no worse. Ate a sprig of cilantro. Just have to hover over him and make sure he eats something regularly, till he starts eating on his own again.

We'd started watching some of our nightly Dark Shadows back in the bunny room and at first this little guy was nervous but then he seemed okay. We kept the volume down. But he could be sensitive to some frequency... have to monitor that. But he is one to get gas in his tummy now and then. Just his body's little quirk.

Well, today was supposed to be the day to catch up from yesterday's delays and sidetracks... sigh. But if bunny does better I shan't complain. Tomorrow is my payday and I normally do a few errands, but between everything going on I may just do most of it differently.

This morning I was neatening my Barbies and their little shoes and things. A couple shoes are missing but I know they dropped somewhere in my room. Put each pair or single in a little ziplock bag. I store the shoes most of the time precisely because they're so tiny and come off and get lost. My dollies don't mind going barefoot around the house, heehee.

On a more serious note, sure do hope the streets and shops will be safe soon. My roommate has to start that low iodine diet the 12th. She'll have to grocery shop for things the diet allows. George Floyd's funeral is on the 9th. Who knows. The people who get violent don't care about the myriad ripple effects.

Good Evening Everybody

Hi CriticalMass
So sorry you got another headache (((HUG)))
I do believe the stress and rage you experienced earlier contributed to it.
Please try to divert/close your eyes if you have someone shine bright lights toward you.

Find some breathing exercises/meditations to help reduce the level of stress.
There will always be stressors in our lives but we can do things to help minimize their impact on us.

Went and got water this morning.
Have enough now to weather another month in bed if I have to.
Since it's just right by there I went to the food bank thrift shop.
The Reverend who runs it stopped and asked me how I have been doing.
Well, I told him.
He was very upset and told me to never do that again.
He said that nobody should suffer like that.
If I ever need help of any kind to just call the food bank and they will do whatever I need help with.
Food, cat food, water, and anything else.

I bought the cats a pretty new couch quilt for 4.50, washed it when I got home and hung it out.
Managed to get the water bottles stored safely in the pumphouse.

There will be free flu shots available at the fairgrounds and covid19 tests too if people want them.
But they say I can't have a flu shot because of my age.
I am supposed to get a different shot, a stronger version.
The announcement did not say where I can get a free one. πŸ™
Maybe the county health nurse could help me?

Tillie are you feeling better? I'm so worried for you. We received a heat alert for Sunday and Monday.

I didn't do much today. BF made mom tea with honey to help her out and I also brought her ginger ale and a fresh loaf of bread. Then I went to while foods and got a sandwich and a slice of vegan spanikopita. I then came home, showered with my one towel, then napped. I do have a lovely Turkish towel that I received as a Christmas gift from my artist friend to go with my new bathroom color scheme so I pulled that out and put it over my pillow due to my wet hair.

An executive at the insurance co has been helping me with the prescription problems and I'm much calmer now. She doesn't have any significant solutions but I like her and I feel heard.

My laundry was picked up at 9:17 tonight. The guy seemed nice. I had my three bags ready. Towels, sheets, pjs. All whites/light colors. Even though I'm out of towels, I am grateful that I own four and only four. It's really the right number. I had a set of towels for my mother's friend when she would come visit but I gave one to my sister and the other is in use to help keep the ac in my window. The portable one leaves a gap and so I've folded that towel to bridge it. It doesn't show from the outside. At the end of the season it will be stained irreparably so I'll wash it well and donate it. It won't be gross, and the kitty cats won't mind a bit.

I gave the laundry guy an ice pop. I got them at Whole Foods. Organic, all juice, no added sugar. I've never liked popsicles or ice pops but these are delicious, refreshing and much lower in calories than an entire container of ice cream.

So nothing to show for today. It was a good day.

Oh! Wednesday night I ran into a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. I'd gone to BF's work to wish one of his employable happy birthday. We had a cake for him to take home and some individually wrapped pastries to enjoy at work. Gone are the days where we served cake to customers and cops and whoever else was roaming around. Anyway I saw three different people I hadn't seen and for that I was grateful. And one of them was the woman who used to use my car everyday for her son. She has her own car now so I asked her to drive me home and when we got here I said, oh my goodness my car needs to be inspected so she took it the next day for me. I abhor having the car inspected. And you know what, I really needed that. It expired in May so from my perspective, she got a few months off. I hate doing it so she's always done it for me. What a relief. She's just so great about it.

And with new washer Monday, the nice man downstairs with the kitties said he'd deal with the delivery and installation for me, which was fantastic. Again something else I don't like to do. He said he wants to do it, selfishly, because he can then jump in and start his laundry.

SubC I loved your story! She's world-weary yet respectful and you delivered a surprise! I wish we could've seen her face! Speaking of deliveries, I'm saying prayers for your daughter.

Cm sending you a shout-out.

I realized today that my weight is really bad. So I'm going to go lock up the house and listen to my CD. I owe this to myself. No more ice cream for me. SubC I'll have to tell myself no ice cream unless you make it for me.

Tillie please know I am so sorry and I need you and the kitties to be safe and well.

Hi CriticalMass
No need to apologize
that wasn't really a rant anyways.
Just you telling us what's going on in your life today. (((HUG)))

Wishing Bunny to get well soon.

Just make sure to run any shopping errands early in the day and be safe home long before sundown.
Nearest rioting to me is about 80 miles away.

Good luck with the zoom appointment.
I'm sure she knows well that you all are experiencing a lot more stress these days.

Hung sheets out on the line and got a skeeter bite for my efforts. πŸ™

Will be going soon to the garage sale pricing party. Roommate should be on her way back with her new car soon.

Last night I drove to the grocery store and the sun was very low and bright, so I went down a different street, only to have to stop and wait for a vehicle with extremely bright headlights to pass. In the store, by the frozen pizza case, I suddenly got one of my ocular migraines.

So I had to scrub the mission of taking a few more garage sale items over, fumble my way to checkout, sit in my van till the visual disturbances cleared, then slowly drive home.

I wonder if pre-migraine factors were already at play in my ragey mood of the morning, and then the light triggers were the final straw. Anyway, I'm more rested now and am going to take the advice of the security guy I almost walked into because I couldn't see. Carrots and blueberries he said, for migraines. Can't hurt to try. He may have meant because they're good for the eyes.

De-stressing is what I need the most, obviously. And going to work on that. The garage sale will keep me busy, but after that hopefully I'm free awhile. Have some things to do next week like get flu shot, spare tire, try to resolve computer conundrum, and other misc. Plus keep at the storage unit project. But can decide when to do what, no set schedule.

It'll be nice with roommate having her new car, too - she will be more free to come and go. Her old one was still driveable some, but she didn't like to go too far in it. So I was chauffeur which I didn't mind but her having the new wheels will give us greater flexibility.

I have just a few of everyone's prior posts to catch up on but thought I'd better fly by and post this - with the sale I may be busier but who knows.

Hello Everybody

Hi CriticalMass
Please make an effort to connect with your Friend (((HUG)))

Since you can't swim at the Y I am happy you are going on morning walks.

Best wishes for finding quick relatively easy tasks to tackle.
Even little things done is a step in the right direction. πŸ™‚

Hi Subclinical
LOL, I can just visualize the building manager thinking that cart was good and should be saved for Justin Case it could come in handy some day. πŸ˜€

Soap is always good to have and nowadays especially needed.
Happy to know you will have your own homemade soap πŸ™‚

Things change daily, maybe Dh won't return to the workplace the 27th?
Fingers crossed...

WAY TO GO!!! for you and your Students all getting together and caught up on things! (((HUG)))

Hi Tatoulia
Hope Mom is doing better today (((HUGS Tat's MOM)))

I didn't know they made those "baggies".
I just hand wash regular ones until they fall apart. ;p

Hope your laundry comes back smelling and feeling like a million dollars and that the service didn't cost a million. ;D

When the sun sets I will go out and water my garden tonight instead of getting up at sunrise tomorrow morning and watering it.
At sunup today I washed dishes.

Target stores closed early here last night. I understand they, CVS, and Walmart have had closings around the country in the hot spots.

Also learned about 2 miles from here is an area where crowds gather in the evenings and that gets scary.

I have that Zoom appointment with psych doc on Thursday. She'll ask me the clichΓ© mental health questions, and I'll want to laugh hysterically and ask are you kidding me? Ask me again when civilization is rebuilt. Phooey.

Roommate's little bunny guy having tummy trouble again so we have to go pick up meds. I can probably find a little traveled route to take. One advantage of living here my whole life.

Sorry for the vent; promise I'll make a better post later. Stay safe all.
