Hey

Lately some of the sentences were incomplete and then visible and so forth and so on.
Decided to try a new thread to see if that fixes it.

To not offend anybody with Triskaidekaphobia I made this phase 14.

See you soon 😉

Bet you also pull the labels off of pillows too Subclinical ;D

What a rebel!

YEA! for that uphill hike up the road!

I once made the mistake of planting a few Daisies in my garden.
They took over!
Pretty but too "energetic".

Did you take any time to play in the creek?
I would have, ;D

WTG! for taking care of the paper mail!
I didn't get any mail today.
No news is good news.

Spent time twice today working on Twinkles fur.
Looks pretty good unless you check out his belly because he won't allow me to work on his belly. :p

Good morning!
The dog is washed and ready to return (did I tell you we were keeping their dog? - she loves being a farm dog but she always has to go home clean)

And we are waiting to hear that they are discharged and we can come. Should be soon.

I have been channeling my nervous energy into dishes and general clean up.

Everybody take care of yourself and keep rested!

Took care of the paper mail. Walked it up to the road and now I need another drink of water (it is two tenths of a mile round trip, and up hill both ways 😉 there's a creek in the middle)

On the way back I picked some daisies. They grow wild here. We picked so many for my dd's wedding 4 years ago! Today I put them in my kitchen in a fancy old liquor bottle that belonged to my great grandmother, even though It's molded right into the bottle that it's a violation of federal law to reuse it. Just feeling like a rebel today.

Rest up, dear Tillie. I'm about to leave for my blood donation appt, which always leaves me knackered. Just rest.

WAY TO GO Subclinical! 😀
Very glad to hear you took breaks as you planted tomato plants and weeded!

Bet that shower was refreshing.
I remember how in Michigan we'd take a shower just to dry off from all the humidity. LOL

Enjoy the rest of the day. 😀

Was out to start watering the trees but saw the Lilacs were whining to be watered first.
So did that and am now slowly watering the trees.

Need to rest up and cool off from being outside.
Soon the Twinkles project will begin.

Good Morning Everyone
"Clink!"

Very quiet morning.
Not even any birds talking out there.

Still feeling weak and tired from that heat exhaustion ordeal when the cooler was malfunctioning.
Not much getting done here, just the basic necessities.
Did do a little beading yesterday and watered the Lilacs and garden in the evening.
Also brushed Twinkles to stop him from nagging me to brush him.
He loves to be brushed, but not his tummy where he really needs it.

So nice of twinkles to give you a little project.

It is only in the Upper 80s here, but the humidity is awful.

I took 4 nice long water breaks and quit at noon - weeded and planted 4 tomato plants.

Then I had a shower, ate lunch, and took care of some email.

Now I need to take care of some real mail and then either tidy up or get into a project.

Good Morning Everybody

Hi Subclinical
Very glad you are feeling better today.
Don't over do outside when it starts getting too hot.
Take care of yourself with lots of cool rests even when working indoors.

Construction work can be extremely dangerous.
My father, an electrician worked construction.
He wired the computer control panels for the space shuttle launch pad. 😀

Going to be another 100 degree day and then we are predicted to have a cool spell.
Today the trees need watering and Twinkles needs some serious brushing.
He has spent a lot of time laying out in the brush under the sage bushes getting all matted up with sticks & twigs.

Oh, but they won't let me come. The exception is to allow someone professional like a doula, not just any support person.

Construction is scary. Dd worries about her guys all the time.

They had one subcontractor who kept getting fined for safety violations and when they were negotiating the next contract, the guy in charge was complaining about all the fines. The guy from dd's company told him "we just want you to be safe" and the other guy said "I don't believe you, these restrictions are impossible. You just want to make extra money off us" So dd's guy put in the contract that any money collected in safety fines would be donated to a charity. I love dd's company.

I feel better today. Outside work planned for the morning, then inside when it gets hot.

Covid19 in my county is now up to 10.
Last three active cases are men 20 30 and 40 years old.
They all work out of this area, maybe next county over, maybe a construction crew?
All are quarantining at home so must not be too sick.

Good Morning Everyone

HI SUBCLINICAL 😀
Still sending positive vibes your way (((HUG)))

Hope you are at the hospital right now getting gowned up ready to visit that Baby. 😀

So very sorry your workplace is going downhill so quickly.
I know all you want to do is teach children in a safe friendly environment. 🙁

Wonderfully cool this morning.
70F at 9:00am.
Supposed to only get up to 92F today.
My garden looks like death warmed over even with all the watering I've been doing.
At such a high elevation the sun's rays are too intense.
Like burning leaves with a magnifying glass.
I always wear a large white cotton shirt over my Summer dress and a wide brimmed straw hat whenever I go out there.

No plans today, will wait & see what comes up.

Hi Subclinical
The boys are 10 and under! ;D
Yes, a group of boys is always fun.

Glad you are feeling a little better and WTG! for laundry and dishes!

Native Americans have something like your three post it notes.
They are called "Worry Dolls".
I make them with a match stick thick stick about one inch long.
Dress them in tiny bits of cloth with strands of yarn or fuzz for the hair.
Paint/draw a face on them.
Make them as plain or as fancy as you want.
Then you tell your worries to a doll, bury the doll and allow it to do the worrying for you so you can attend to the things you can actually do something about.

I have a group of Worry Dolls in my dollhouse, only dolls I have. 😉

When trying to decide on what to eat this next week I settled on sandwiches of all kinds.
Just had a delicious one.
Dill rye bread
Swiss cheese
Cotto salami
Avocado and tomato slices

Good morning.
Baby still in process. I appreciate all the positive energy. The doctor is predicting around lunch time.

Tired and rollercoastery here.

Yesterday Dh wanted me to quit my job. He said a 45 minute staff meeting shouldn't make you cry for two hours.

This is just such an impossible situation.

And we are down 35% in enrollment and our landlord is insisting on a 16% rent increase and we really can't move. We're in the middle of capital projects to meet safety requirements.

Also

The official (first?) list of departing staff has come out. It includes our beloved receptionist ("receptionist" being a euphemism for mom, secretary, therapist, personal assistant...ok, basically she was everybody's mom.) and the building manager who I relied heavily on and saw eye to eye with.

The receptionist will be replaced with the woman I call our "fixer" who was previously a jack of all trades involving procurement and extra class coverage. She drives me nuts. (We go back 13 years to when our girls were in school together, and not in a good way) And is anti-mask and doesn't think the virus us a big deal.

The building manager will be replaced with the woman who is currently throwing everything out.

So, at a time when I am more uncertain and fragile and challenged, my work environment becomes more hostile.

In better news, As of last night, the hospital is allowing Dd to have a second named individual visit once the baby is at least two hours old. So I will Hopefully get to go after my class this afternoon. (I will be skipping the second staff meeting that I am supposed to attend today.)

Oh Tillie! I wish I could see you with your hat in your go-to-town dress.

Six boys! How wonderful. I always loved it when my son was growing up and my house was full of boys. But I hope they aren't really all babies! Poor momma!

I felt a little better - still very tired, and did two loads of wash and a load of dishes.

I have 18 post it notes left. The post it notes are not My "to do" list, they are the things I am stressed about. So sone if them are "to fo" and some of them are a whole bunch of things to do, and at least three are things that are basically unpredictable/out of my control.

Those three are Mom, school in the fall, and getting to see my grandson.

I am trying to do something to improve at least one of the others every day, and then not think about them.

Good Evening Everyone

Holding you close Subclinical (((HUG)))

Hi Tatoulia
I will be waiting to hear what Miss Kitty thinks of the laundry service. 😉

YEA! for the new shower curtain!
So nice for all those pillow slips too.
This is that pretty bird print right?

How wonderful you found that GrandPad for your Mom!!!
Hope she can work it and video chat with you and listen to music and all the other features!
😀

Happy you got to video chat with your Little Sister Kitty.

WAY TO GO! for filling donation bags.
Many thrift shops are open for donations but have been limiting their hours to receive items.
They have been inundated with donations and can't handle incoming during all store hours.
Just call and ask them when.

Nice sun blocking thunder clouds built up late afternoon again.
I got the obligatory few sprinkles again.
But the wind was raging like crazy.
Makes me sad that I actually dusted yesterday.
Everything is again covered in dust and fine grit.

Have a Mackintosh apple scented candle burning all day for Subclinical's family (((HUG)))

Good Afternoon Everyone

Hi CriticalMass
YEA! for getting your shopping done!

Please just "shop at home".
Play with the dolls you have.
Organize your art supplies.
Do what Subclinical suggests.
Rest, get lots of sleep, do some cooking.
Spend quality time with the Fur Babies.
Plot and plan for your Roommate's new quarantine routine.

Fight through the urge to shop by doing good wholesome productive things at home. (((HUG)))

Hi Subclinical
Hope you are feeling better and spending lots of time sitting and sipping water. 🙂

Hot out there but beat the heat when I went early to the store.
Same as last time with very few people, glad they have that hour a week for only old people.
Got to see a dear Friend and we even hugged because we just had to, it was emotional.
She has the 6 most gorgeous little dark brown Hispanic baby boys.

Last time I went to this WallyWorld the shelves were almost stocked up back to normal.
But I think this week of marches has interfered with shipments from Sacramento/Oakland area.
There was an awful lot of empty shelf space, again.
But they did have very nice avocados for 25 cents each.

I wore my best go to town dress and my straw hat that has a scarf tied around it.
People actually stopped me to tell me how lovely I looked.
Made me feel good about myself, which is rare.

Hello everyone! Praying for the baby!

SubC oh how I would love to share a nice slice of bread with your jam on it. Would be so lovely.

Tillie I am so grateful that you have a working cooler again! I've been worried sick.

Good for you, CM, getting a good night's sleep and trying to have someone else store the bunny things! I'm proud of your thought process! I hope someone will have the space.

Ok laundry: I am in love with the service. I also sent in a second batch, sent the cat things. Today my cleaner came. Just her. Took her two hours. The poor thing. No helper with her. She brought the shower curtain her mother made me and her mother made me two pillow cases for my bed and two square pillow covers. What a treat to get the extras. I've ordered the pillow inserts. The cleaner said how the pillows will go well with the cotton quilt at the end of my bed. The quilt is twin-sized but makes a nice little throw. It had been part of a set I'd purchased for my mother when she moved into assisted living. They had this beautiful bed made up at Bloomingdales and I bought her everything. Sheets, pillow cases, duvet, quilt, throw pillows, etc and we are down to just the thin quilt which I absolutely adore.

I've been pretty focused at work since I've started listening to my weight loss tapes.

I bought my mom a GrandPad from consumer cellular and I dropped it off for her tonight. It's specifically designed for seniors. The aide we are friends with, Sally, took it up to her and before I knew it, they were video calling me! I think she'll be able to see it okay. I am the administrator of it so I've added myself and my BF as her contacts. I've also added the sister. It's designed in a way that I have to invite people to be part of her group; and so I think she'll be safe. The aide told me that mom was listening to music as she left. And I got to see the kitty so all around a win.

I did a lot of decluttering here in the past several days. I'm proud of my work. I believe goodwill is now open for donations so I'll try to get my bags over there on Saturday. I believe that for now, they are closed on Sundays.

Praying for the baby and your daughter.

Good morning.

I feel absolutely awful today. My dd and my Dh say it's letdown from the stress/adrenaline withdrawal. My legs are weak and shaky, my head aches, and my stomach is queasy.

There are many things I want to do/have done around the house and especially in the barn, but for right now my plan is to sit around sipping water.

Tatoulia, I love the picture of your mom on the patio. Such a spot of brightness and cheer.

Tillie, I hope you get your groceries smoothly.

CM, maybe you can find a spot for pretty/fun things you already have in your room. Can you clear off just a little piece of shelf and set up a scene with your barbies or a vignette of crafty things for inspiration? When they were doing construction on my house, the vibrations made dirt fall from the rafters onto everything and there was so much dust kicked up. I covered everything in the basement with sheets. When I cleaned up, it was nice to actually leave the sheets on for a while and just see the one small space where I was creating order. Maybe you could do something like that to reduce the visual clutter.

The county website finally updated their information.
There are currently 24 active cases of covid19 in the county, one of the people are hospitalized, the rest are sheltering at home.

Must remember these are only the people who were tested and with milder cases the people wouldn't go get tested.

The county is still doing good and hopefully with masks now mandatory things will continue to stay good.

Most of the people out here are antisocial introverts who keep to themselves.
LOL ;D

Just wanted to say I did get my shopping done just fine. The daytime was perfectly normal.

I think the stress is making me want to buy lots of pretty and fun things, though. Feeling cooped up, literally or symbolically, is not a good thing for me. It's what got me going nuts for Barbies in 2018.

Nice pic of your mom, Tatoulia!

The butterscotch bunny is my boy.

I should try to sleep...

Good Morning Everybody

Hi Subclinical
Completely agree with you that this could take a really long time.
That's the thing about "birthin Babies"
it takes as long as it takes. ;D

Holding you all close in my heart and thoughts
((((HUGS))))

WAY TO GO! for all the jam!
That's a workout in it's self.

Good luck, best of wishes with your virtual staff meeting.
I am hoping the tide is turning about the mask issue.
Seems mask wearing is getting more positive responses this past week.
Anti-maskers are now facing more critical backlash about their position.
At least this is what I am now seeing in places where indoor businesses are now all mandating everybody wear one.

Supposed to be a few degrees cooler next few days.
Still 97F to 101F but that is better than before.
But now the heat has generated clouds and lots of humidity.

Steven has stayed home for more than a whole week now.
From what I could understand from one of his nasty rants the other day he can't go anywhere any more now.
This is because he refuses to wear a face mask.
And he argues in a very nasty way with the poor people trying to enforce the rule.
He proudly tells me about how he argued with them.

I can still go into any shop in Nevada that I want because I would wear a face mask.
I used to have to wear a face mask every day at work when I did surgeries and it was no problem at all and kept my germs off my patients.
I also have allergies and allergic asthma and the mask doesn't interfere with my breathing. 😉

Hope you plan to have some fun times. 😉

Goid morning.
No baby yet,
but it's baby day.

They have an appointment to induce at 10:00.

They will take the dog out before they go.
We will pick the dog up this afternoon.
Dsil thinks he will come take the dog back tomorrow morning.

(Actually this could take a really long time and she could have the baby tomorrow)

Yesterday I did not exercise, but I did finally make jam. 6.5 pints - enough to last us 4-6 months. Today is supposed to be a berry picking day, but it is also supposed to rain most of the day. Even if there is a break, it is not good to pick when the berries are wet.

CM, so odd that the frog responded to the rain when he is inside.

The house is messier because of the jam making.

I have a virtual staff meeting this morning. I think it is going to be stressful. I am getting some notes ready in case I need to defend my mask position.

And I need to do laundry.

Tatoulia, how did the laundry turn out?

Tillie, I am glad you are getting better.

I just love that picture of your Mom sitting there in her little pink sweater!!! 😀

YEA! you get to actually get to visit her tomorrow!!!

That will be so good when you can have real visits.
Sorry you won't get to see your little Sister (((HUG)))

WTG! for doing laundry and saving some to do tomorrow.
I already washed my new things and those pillowcases bring back memories of my Granma's linens.
The line dried smell, the feel of the quality cotton and the beautiful embellishments.
I always pick them up whenever I see them in the thrift shop.
These two were 2.50 but were 1/2 price so only cost 1.25 today, not even a dollar each.
And they are in mint condition.

Had to water the garden this evening, the heat had everything wilted.
Tomorrow I plan to grocery shop.
Not out of cat cans and cat snax yet but want to make sure to have enough to last.
Plus I need fresh produce and some kind of food for me.
Planning to be there early when it's just old people and still not hot out.
