It sounds like you have a good support network. I seem to remember the name Nate from logging.

You are living on what I call "Hospital Time". Hospital Time is a special time zone that exists in hospitals at the intersection of actions of Doctors, Hospital Employees (who are not on Hospital Time) and a patient's health events.

I hope Mr Tillie's health is salvageable and continues to improve. I hope that you are being able to maintain your physical, mental and emotional strength and focus.

I made it a point yesterday while I was doing some errands, when I got stressed and had to refocus to include a prayer for both of you as part of refocusing.

Still living at the hospital playing that long boring
"wait and see" game.
Sleeping at Nate's house, he insisted.
Neighbor friend baby sitting the cats.

Missing you all.
Take care and keep up the forward progress even when you don't want to.

Tat, you said everything was a mess at home, instead of giving up, look what you did, got to work!! So proud of you, regrouped and took action.
This morning I looked at small amt of dirty dishes, thought "later" then got dish washing tub down, put dishes in with hot water, no motivation, just know it is the right thing to do, they are soaking and I am on here to read and get support to get things done today. Tanners mom always needs to use bathroom, so cleaned the toilet this morning, ranks as least favorite . Still have plenty to do so she does not have to pee in a bucket in the yard.
Tillie, sweet friend, thinking good things will come out of this

That is a long day, Diane. Glad that Tanner is coming for a visit! I need to go to bed now and wanted to stop in to say goodnight to everyone. It is nice to have bedroom vacuumed, one bed table clear, and all the garbage and recycling out of the house.

To day was my work day 6:45am to 4:30pm with only one 25 minute break, that is a long day. When I got home, made a smoothie and sat in my rocks in the yard and searched for cool rocks, shopping in my yard, just as much fun maybe more fun, than I used to do after a long day (store shopping)
Just got online and read all of your posts, so wonderful to hear from all of you. Tillie, so sorry you are dealing with such a difficult situation Sounds like it is time for him to turn the car keys over to you. You are a survivor and whatever comes your way, you will deal with it with and life will be better soon. We all send you love and support.
Tonight is tv and relax, so grateful to stay home tonight and tomorrow.
Tanner is coming to stay for the weekend, so nice to have my boy here. I need to sneak away for a couple of hours and go to Costco, have been saying this for weeks, but really am out of food soon.
So happy to hear from each of you, hugs and clinks to all

Roxie, nice to hear from you. I will be sending you warm thoughts and wishes--we want you to be healthy and strong! I bought myself 50 daffodils. They are so pretty--haven't opened up yet but I know within an hour or two I'll start seeing at least a couple open. I took the 20 daffodils I bought myself last week in the hallway of my building. They have another day or two left in them.

Cold here but beautiful and sunny. Working from home with the occasional house work break.

I must tell you, Roxie, you sound terrific! And that was nice, solid advice you gave to someone new on one of the other threads. (Not that I would expect any less from you...it was just nice to read).

How wonderful to see all these posts when I signed on! I'm grateful you are all posting, despite any setbacks.

Bitsy, great to see you post. And congrats on the grody bag stuff.

Dave, you are silly but you are making progress. Fun to read.

Diane, of course I am always encouraged by your energy level. It helps me keep on with physical therapy work, etc.

Tillie, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Tillie. I hope all goes well for you and for him. Here for you.

Tat, you've made progress so reward yourself for each step (in a healthy way, of course). Coffee clink.

Grace, wonderful to see you posting again, and congrats on not giving up. We've missed you.

I apologize if I've failed to mention someone but my short-term memory is pretty shot nowadays.

Just got done sorting some paperwork and discarding some. Made phone calls regarding outstanding bills so I can start paying off some of them. SO MANY medical bills, oy vey.

Working on scheduling 12 sessions of pulmonary rehab after an initiation session. I'll be commiting to two hours twice a week. It's education and exercise (monitored), the latter of which I am told helps overcome fears of overextending one's self and not being able to breath. My goal is to stay out of the hospital for at least 61 days.

Hugs and coffee clinks all around.

Vacuumed bedroom, cleared off and dusted one of the bed tables. Only put 1/2 of the stuff back on. Finding homes for the rest of the stuff. Cleaned and dusted table between windows (didn't have anything on it). Pleased with myself.

Boots!!!:

More N 2.

I had forgotten until looking at the calendar late last night. I have a trip to the cobbler today to pick up a pair of ..... BOOTS!

:) :)

(Trip planned and coordinated with Sr Day at the nearby DAV.)

The boots are Mrs. Dave's. There is now some disagreement as to whether she said no more than $25 (her) or $35 (me) for the repair. The cobbler's office said $45. I finally decided to leave them on the theories that (assuming the new soles don't change the walk of the boots) she likes them and I'm saving her a replacement shopping trip.

Diane,
You are a most energetic and determined person. I think I am not quite that way. We'll see about the dishes. I go slowly. I also deferred that to do other things.
Earning money is great. I know you were worried about your finances. The license help is nice too. Many companies today are controlling costs to the point they won't do things like that.

Tat,
My mother had a friend who would come over and they would sit at the kitchen table and talk. You have all the ingredients. A clean, shiny table and pretty flowers. A place to have coffee with a friend.
One clean shiny spot is an encouragement to more clean shiny spots when you teach yourself to think that way.

This morning I mentioned having fears and worries.
Unfortunately most have been realized.
Been at the hospital where he was admitted for a large blood clot in an artery in his leg.
There will be a surgical procedure, he could lose his leg.
He could lose his life.
Please send some positive thoughts/vibes/prayers this way.

dave, when the timer is set and I see how many dishes I can wash in 15 minutes, I surprise myself how much I can get done, have you tried the timer dave? I am very competitive so look at it as beating the timer.
Got clean sheets on bed.

Still have 2 days worth of dishes to clean up. Kitchen a disaster.

Tat,
thank you for the concept idea. I truly would not have thought of it that way.

I have been reminded today that my overall situation is far worse than I was remembering about. to succeed, one of the things I will ahve to do is to think about both space inside of boxes and clean space inside of boxes.

I am too discouraged to try to explain the overall situation right now, maybe tomorrow.

I will have to exchange the diaper wipe box. I uncovered the "Speedometer Parts" and "Money" bucket again. The Speedometer Parts diaper wipe box has holes in it and since I have one without holes ....

Good work, everyone. Bitsy, that sounds like hard work! Congratulations! Keep it up and remember not to push yourself too hard physically.

Really, we all did so much today, although my accomplishments fell short of my goals, I did all dishes and promptly emptied the dishwasher, I did three loads of laundry, all of which has been folded and put away, I cleaned the area where kitty eats (clean placemat) and then I napped.

Yes, dear Tillie, doing it together is the key. Congratulations to us all. Diane, don't want to ignore you--appreciated your post very much!

Pumpkin Moonshieby Tasha Tudor A wee story for a very sweet wee person

I tackled a gross area in my bathroom today. 1 foot by 3 foot area. I filled a large goodwill bag full of heavy wet groady stuff. The floor there is not clean yet but the bag of yuk is out of the house and on the front porch. Tomorrow I will put it on the hood of the car and drive it to the trash can.

I also did an online search for "Bright-Fey". Did not take time to read anything yet but plan to check out the 15 minute routine
Tomorrow after I pay some bills and check bank balance.

I can so relate to Roxie's "nest". Having needed things within reach. Things like meds, water, glasses, book, flashlight, cane, etc.

Thanks for letting me be

Hi Grace, happy to hear you are still working on the hoard, and making progress.
Tillie, Tat, Dave, our chat this morning really helped me get some things done. Washed dishes, cooked good stuff, washed those dishes, took a shower, washed, curled hair, started to change sheets, got distracted, will go back and finish. Matching sox for tomorrow. Food for work. Really appreciate our talk this morning, so much better working together.

Hello Grace! Congratulations! Good work!

Dave, that is a victory in my book! You found space inside the diaper wipe box. Now to make more space by putting the wipe container in recycling? Maybe? And no, mrs Dave didn't tell me to say that. Maybe.

Congratulations on the clean space. That will also help with your process because now you have a staging area to set up a sorting table. All the hard work you have done is sort of like conditioning muscles too. It will help you in the next round.

Hi everyone! It has been a while. I miss you all. Long cold winter but spring is in the air. (Well, at least for a couple of days.) Still cleaning since my husband left all of his hoard behind. Sometimes I want to just give up but guess what? I never did! This group is very encouraging. One space clean in the basement . Much more to go. But, with people like you supporting me, I'll get there. Thanks

Sad day in mudville!

Working on a box consolidation to try to maximize space for "useful items". If i can organize them, they are no longer a hoard, but useful items. :) :) (I am driving very, very fast trying to get to the right spot.)

two boxes labelled keepsakes, which Mrs Dave prescreened for me last summer. Hmm, what can I do here? So I open them up and study on the contents. A diaper wipe box says PLASTIC SACKS!!. I open it anticipating my plastic sack high. It is ...... empty!

So far today I have fed the cats
scooped litter boxes
put down fresh water & filled kibble bowls.
swept the floors
took a shower, got dressed
made my bed
straightened up, put stuff back where it goes
spent time with each cat apologizing for there not being any sunshine today

Soon I will go to the neighbor's house and relate to their pets to get them nice and spoiled before they are in my care for a whole week while their people take an anniversary vacation.
It has been a long time since I last baby sat them.

I am churning in the garage. So I can churn from the (supposed to be) garden shed to the garage. Diane and Tillie and Tatoulia are watching.

Diane is kicking my butt. David, you and I are too old for that c***. You know better. Do what you know.

Tillie is shaking her head and smiling sadly. Dave, how many times have I told you you can't organize a hoard. And just yesterday I reminded you about OHIO (and it wasn't the state).

Tatoulia is jumping up and down saying YES YES (because I just recycled 4 15 year old yougurt containers I'd been saving for painting tools).

For me, in my situation, the help I can receive from here is not limited by what folks are willing to offer. It is limited by what I am willing to receive.

Good morning all-and I do mean all of you. Bitsy, so sad to read of your desperation, I have been there, so angry at my situation, feeling helpless, like a failure, with no way out. Motivation never came. I took advice on here, visualized an area set timer, got off my butt and started. Posted on here daily for over a year ups and downs. Tillie gave me support and suggestions. As did others, Tillie was the one consistent in my life. Shopping has always been the thing that brought me instant happiness, really was painful to stop, have had plenty of slips, but never went back to the addiction to shop. When I stay away from the board, usually because of arguments, attacks, mostly of Tillie or me, then I back slide, so now I know to just keep connected, I need the support.
Tat, I relate so closely to everything you said. Except, I do have my finances together, as together as they are going to get at my age, that is. I only buy things with cash, pay bills on time. Work even though I am 67 this year. Maintenance and excess still plague me, and the burden of not consistently changing my behaviors. The positive is we have accomplished soooooo much and we have hope now. We will continue to improve if we keep connected here.
Dave, enjoy your thinking so much, and your honesty.
When I was in pain I often struck out at others, and really felt it was my duty to point out their flaws, when in truth my pain misinterpreted others behaviors and words. I still catch my thoughts going to that place, stop and focus on what I am grateful for. My job tomorrow, gives me the weekly chance to have a condensed course in responding with love when criticized, or left out.
I made $150 yesterday, found the check for nsg. license, printed it off, and will take to work tomorrow, they offered to pay it, would not have happened if I was a grump.
I agree Dave, doing nice things for others, is a reward in itself. Doing nice things for myself, other than shopping also is heart warming. I love you Tillie, and you will be a target, people love to shoot at things that shine.
