I hope everyone has a safe and fun night, whatever your plans are.
Can someone let me know what the experience was with the Sunday night chat? I never heard anything back from the web hosting company about how to fix the issues with JAVA. Did you try the new chat room or just suffer through the old one? Thanks all!

HAPPY TRICK OR TREAT!
Self-care, got a long overdue haircut. Looks pretty good. I got out a stack of papers to sort couple of days ago. They're still right there on my desk. Will get to them this week.
Keep up the good work, everybody!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! :D
Tonight we are throwing a Halloween party at the bar. :)
I'm going to be a firefighter for Halloween. :)
I'm also dressing Cory, Matt, and Snuggles up for Halloween too. Cory is going to be a hot dog, Matt is going to be a taco, and Snuggles is going to be a banana. I was really hungry when I bought their Halloween costumes. LOL. ;)

Good morning :)
Hi Roxie :) WAY TO GO! for getting the usual two done early! :D
Hi Dianne :) WOOHOO!!! sleeping in a new bed and waking up a new & improved you! :D
Have no real plans for today, just continue what I have been doing. Tuesday I made a curtain, yesterday I hemmed my new jeans. Been having so much fun sewing and making plans for more sewing projects.
So far in the Nielsen diary all I have noted is that the TV is off. lol
Like my mornings quiet and stress free and TV is too intense this early.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN wishing you all a day filled with treats! :D

I hear you Roxie.
I woke up this morning after the first night in my new bed! Yay! I could actually stand straight as soon as I got up. I could walk without pain and felt about 5 years younger.
So nice I'm going back for a little nap now. :)
Happy Halloween everybody!

I woke up early and am already feeling a nap pending!
Hi, all. Where is everyone and what are you up to?
Hi faithful Tillie. Good to read your update. I've done my usual two...early in the day yet. I can't believe it is almost November.

Good morning :)
Sunny with occasional clouds today.
I think the Nielsen people picked my address & phone number out of the phone book and sent me a post card saying I would recieve a call in a few days. Nice lady called and asked a few questions as to how many people lived here & how many working TVs we have. Since I really wanted to do this, could have said no thanks, they sent me a packet containing instructions and 3 diaries, one for each TV and a dollar bill for my efforts. I will keep one diary near each TV. He uses two and I only ever watch the one in the livingroom area. When we watch a show we jot down the information or check the boxes for when the TVs are off. The diaries make this very easy to do. Only have to do this from tomorrow, Thursday through next Wednesday. Then I seal the diaries and mail them back, they paid the postage. The important thing about doing this is that our voices will be heard and noted as to what kind of programs WE enjoy and feel are worth our time to watch. :D
Yesterday I got caught up in sewing and sorting out my future sewing projects while watching the snow and spooky DVD movies. Didn't cook a thing. But now have a very lovely vibrant red sheer lace curtain hanging in the window of my little room.
I would not have been able to relax and enjoy myself yesterday had I not forced myself to do that house cleaning. Getting the house decluttered and cleaned & fixed has all been very hard work and many times I just wanted to give up. But I would be/was so miserable and depressed. Now I must defend my "No Clutter Zones" and keep slowly working to get more things around here decluttered, cleaned and repaired. Not easy when dealing with a hoarder who has no interest in doing the hard work or even allowing others to do the work for him.
As for remembering what day it is.... I try to check the date every morning and try to remember it all day long. Just hate it when I lose days because I wasn't paying attention. ;D When trying to remember my age, first I always think 18 then add some years to it. ;p Life began for me when I became a legal adult and no longer had to live under my parent's roof and my mother's rules.
Have no idea what I will be doing today. Should get dressed, hair brushed, face washed & teeth brushed too. A little tidying up, cat stuff taken care of then the whole day will be all mine to do with as I choose. :D
Today is trash pick up day and the cans are out at the road!!! YEA!!! :D
Might do some winterizing of the windows and maybe do more to the outside faucets before we have a deep over night freeze.
What ever you all do today try to find the fun. :D

I did my usual today plus bagged up two bags of garbage. Have more to do but eh...

I get my days mixed up too, Roxie. What always surprises me is when I get my age mixed up. For the longest time I've been thinking I was 62 then someone pointed out the other day that I was 61. haha
Interesting note about the Saudi women. For cancer reasons I avoid too much sun and add vitamin D every day.
Tillie, so glad to read what you wrote ~~ *It was hard. I did not want to do it. But I was very glad that I forced myself to get it done.*
I have been wasting time all day, trying to decide what I want to do to get out of this work. Yes, it will be hard. No, I definitely do not want to do it. But I will force myself because I will feel better when it's done.
How does the Nielsen thing work?
With the fresh snow you must bake the buttery cookies! And a delicious casserole!
I can just imagine little Scooter's expression lol. His first playtime in it will be too cute. :)

Been snowing here since 7:30am. It is now 8:30am and the heavy snow fall has everything all covered in crisp clean white snow. Looks so lovely! :D
Scooter, the kitten, looking out the window with an expression like "WTF!!! :O
I love it! HAPPY 1st. SNOW DAY!!! :D

Another rainy day today. Yesterday I got the usual general cleaning tasks accomplished. It was hard. I did not want to do it. But I was very glad that I forced myself to get it done. It's done & over with for now. This means that today I don't have a dirty house. Today I can do whatever I want. :D Been trying to talk myself out of making those wonderful little buttery cookies that you shape out of a cookie press. They go so nicely with a cup of tea or cocoa.
Ever hear of those Nielsen people who do the TV show ratings? I always wondered who those people were that they used to rate shows. Well, it will be me watching TV and telling the Nielsen people what is being watched on the TVs in my house this next week. :D This is so much FUN!
Keep posting, love hearing about everything going on in your lives. (((hugs)))

Hi Dianne :) Chip chip chip away at those piles and eventually thay will all be gone! :D
Hi Diane :) Hope you are having fun playing with crafts and straightening up the livingroom. :D
Hi Roxie :) I read online that people like me, with a sensitivity to sunlight, who always use sun screen, wear wide brimmed hats, long sleeves and always stay in the shade have to be extra careful to make sure they get enough Vit.D in their diets. ;)

Did my usual two chores, then also ran an errand, finally brought the Sunday paper inside, gathered up the week's mail, reseated the mailbox which yet another car knocked over. I was confused, thinking it was Tuesday for awhile. Glad I didn't lose Monday!
Tillie, I'm happy to hear of forward movement. Just keep making changes ilke the tree, and he'll have to deal with it. hehe
Diane, it makes me happy to hear your joy in the picture, the play time, the job, etc.
Dianne, I'm cheering on your continued work and your determination to keep pounding away at frustrating things like the washer. You can conquer it with perseverance!
I've been on the internet and reading foreign newspapers and posting my opinion all over the place. :D Also watching a lot of youtube, which is entirely fun. I'll watch almost anything that is different. I learned that in Saudi Arabia, something like 40% of women past menopause have osteoporosis. As I thought about it (other adults are also vit. D deprived), it makes sense: they only go out completely covered except for face and hands! Our skin needs half an hour of sun exposure a day to get enough Vit. D.

morning Dianne and Tillie sounds like you both have busy days. I haven't done anything but play with crafts this morning. Since it is so cold have to go out and get firewood, it is cold in here but 34 outside, guess will have to put a coat on and go out, or soon it will be 34 in here. windy and cold all week, down to 19 one night, brrrrrrr. Today I have plans to stay home all day and getting clutter out of living room, period, mostly practice having fun all day. Cold cloudy weather is going to keep me inside so I can practice being positive and happy inside the house. The chat last night helped me so much, thanks tillie.

Good Monday morning! :)
Today I will do some general house cleaning. Sweeping, cleaning the bathroom & vacuuming.
Only got rain over night, no snow here. Supposed to be rainy all day today.
Really enjoying all the light that I get now through the two main windows now that that tree is gone. :D It is the west facing side of the house but even early morning there is a lot more natural light in here. Helps wake up my brain. ;D

More maintaining today with some dejunking.
I found a box of computer speakers that looked pretty good. All the wiring with the computer and whatever is hooked into it was a mess. The outlets don't work in this room and the electrical guy couldn't get in to check them. I've got it all hooked up to extensions and a power surge strip that work from another room into here.
Anyway I played around with it and finally got the speakers to work. The first thing I wanted to hear was laughing babies on Youtube. They always give me a big smile. I got the wires safely straightened out and wrapped into smaller bendings with rubber bands.
I've gotten rid of some junk papers, made a pile for donations, a pile for regifting for Christmas and cleaned some floor space. I need to keep the cats out of here. They love it because the room gets warm afternoon sun but it's not safe to have them navigating over slipping piles and winding their way around breakables. Although it is interesting to watch how limber and light-footed they are.
Chatroom tonight. Anybody attending? Anybody want to use the other chatroom Cory set up? On the other board I have to scroll down to write then scroll back up to read. Very frustrating and I can't figure out how to change the format on my screen there.
Last week's chat went well once we all decided to just laugh at the weirdness in our chatroom.
It is still usable. I will try to be in our chatroom by 5:00pm PST.
Please join me there! :D

Diane :) Great! that you and your friend had quality time together. :D
Hi Dianne :) It's because of these little moves forward I keep going. Nudging him along at a snail's pace since I can't get him to move any faster. ;) haha
Last week I finally figured out what's been wrong with me physically. Put all my symptoms together. It was the blistery rash that finally clued me in. I have shingles on the left side of my head. I refuse to allow this to bring down my spirits. I will not allow myself to wallow in self pity. I am much stronger than a silly old virus. ;D
Today I will continue to play and relax and enjoy the weather, tomorrow rain & snow is predicted.

Dianne, you are so insightful and warm hearted, yes sounds like Steven is opening his heart a little, so wonderful. Tillie, so happy for you. I went to a friends house out in the country yesterday, we had fun, she is the one that I asked for help and she said no, and I was upset, then she gave me the cold shoulder for over a month, and yesterday was like the good old days. We talked about doing some craft projects this winter. We both have felted wool that we are ready to start on. Feels so goood to clear the air on that friendship. Well, looking around I see some clothes on the back of the recliner an a pile of papers on end table, now that clinics are over, will be good to get back to keeping things neater, and get rid of more stuff. And Dianne you are right, I had not noticed the peace I feel when I look at that photo, but that is exactly what I feel and a sense of wonder that nature is so breathtaking. Dianne and Tillie, hope you are enjoying the day. I am in slow motion, and am about to get moving.

Diane, you're so right about having things around you that give you pleasure. I can just imagine how beautiful the rock formation picture looks and the sense of peace it gives you when you look at it.
Yes Tillie, getting that tree out was a major eye opener for him! Getting in more light makes us feel happier. Sometimes we just can't feel the weight of everything bearing down on us but once a sizeable portion of it is lifted there's a shift inside us. It's like, wow this feels good! Maybe change really is possible for me! Not taking those 2 turn tables was a huge step. And his thinking that someone else could enjoy them is an opening of his heart.
You've waited a long time for this and are well deserving! I am so happy that he is being so much nicer to you!!

Diane, have a wonderful fun time today! You earned it. (((hugs)))
We also have those old 1960s single pane windows. I use the clear plastic window kits every winter.
Just learned about a new trick that I want to try on some windows. Bubble wrap. Get the 1 to 2 inch bubble type, not the tiny bubbles. Moisten the window and stick the bubble wrap to it. Gives you a lot more insulation R factors and you can remove it and stick it back up again and it lets the light in. Planning to try this on HIS bedroom windows and the bathroom window just as soon as I get the bubble wrap.

I think my hoarder has made some sort of break through with his hoarding thinking. Went to the thrift shop Thursday. He saw 2 turn tables. He has a massive collection of vinyl LP albums. He said they were really very good turn tables and in perfect working condition and a very good price tag. I asked "do you need them?" He said "no, I counted and already have 12 at home. " I asked him "are the ones you have just a good as these?" He said "yes, I don't need to buy these. Somebody else will be very happy to get them." Normally he would have grabbed them both up in a second. His attitude is also so much better since the tree was cut down. Peer pressure from having the tree guy here and the neighbors and other people coming by. Normally he is very nasty & negative about things like this but he has been extremely pleasant and actually getting out there to start cleaning up the mess the tree made. All these years I had been telling him the tree was diseased and damaged and dangerous and he was telling me how wrong and mean I was. With the tree cut up you can see exactly all the diseased and rotting away at the core of the branches and half way through the trunk it really was. So wonderful having other people come here and agree with me. Validation.
Having that tree down allows so much more light into the house. And now all the dust, pollen, leaves, seed pods, bugs, wasp nests, allergens and old bird nests are gone and no longer bugging my allergies and making me always have to sweep the front porch & walkway.
In the winter months the sunlight will warm the house and I have insulated drapes to block it out in the summertime. :D

Great plan Dianne. So easy to focus on whats wrong, which seems to be more familiar, good you are going to focus on positive and bring yourself more joy. I am going to join you on that journey today!!!! Started the day thinking I need to fix some plumbing problems, then read what you wrote. Last night finished my last clinic, got home at 7pm and today I am going to just have fun outside, last warm day and it is sunny and beautiful. I forget it is ok to just have fun, and today is the day for fun. Yesterday I washed some windows inside and out and will go to habitat restore today and see if I can find old storm windows for them, I measured them this morning, old ones broke years ago. I have window plastic I can use if can't find glass that fits. Windows in here are from 1967, so very thin single pain, one is cracked, really would like to replace the whole thing, just not now. Just insulate for the winter is good enough. I hung a beautiful photo of rock formation on a wall that is so wonderful, it was in big bedroom on floor, looks so much better than what I had on the wall, can see it from where I use computer, makes me feel good to have things I enjoy and am proud of. I love this site and how it has changed my life. Thanks to all that have passed through here, even those that have had huge relapses, helps me to see the severity of this problem and that it will take time to really change behaviors, and to catch myself as soon as I relapse and get back on track, we deserve a better life.

Hi Dianne :) Thank you! :D I am so very sorry that you are having all these problems with the washer. :( Keeping my fingers crossed that it all gets fixed and stays fixed for you. Isn't the early morning a special magical time to experience. Especially in the wintertime. ;) Wonderful that you are turning your focus to the things you can change! I always try to maximize the positive to minimize the negative.
Hi Diane :) YIPPEE!!! that you had fun!!! :D Next time you get asked out you shouldn't be so nervous, got your feet wet, so to say. Wonderful isn't it, not having a totally cluttered home always hanging over your head. Decluttering, cleaning and getting home repairs tended to really does give us so much freedom to get out there and enjoy life to the fullest. (((hugs))).

Thanks Dianne and Tillie Hung over from joy, that is great. You turned heads, good for you. Dinner went well, fun, I was a bit too talkative, but all went well. No connection for several reasons. I am ok with the whole thing. Work was really fun today, last clinic of the season. We all felt it was a bitter sweet day we will miss working together, and are happy we will be free to do whatever we like. Tomorrow will be another sunny day, was tough working indoors when so nice outside, an will be so much cooler next week when not working---darn it. I am just happy this year was so much more fun than previous years. I am looking forward to focusing on finishing areas of clutter after this weekend. Hopefully I will get out an go to a river or lake and forget cleaning tomorrow. Great hearing what is going on in your lives.

No washer for at least 3 more weeks. The repair guy says valves are gunked up with lime from the well. He was very nice but he said the company is not going to keep sending him different parts covered under warranty for that kind of problem.
The water treatment people can't come for over a week and I'm not sure what they will do. Then if they can flush the system or whatever I wait again for the washer repair guy.
This has been going on for 6 months already. I'm so discouraged.

Tillie, you sound so joyous, what wonderful things have been happening for you!! Getting the tree down was a huge burden lifted, getting your fridge cleaned out, wash done, guys flirting with you in front of the husband, haha, he should be jealous and grateful he has you! I am SOO happy for you, you deserve all this goodness!!
Diane, I'm sorry for the money bag loss. But you handled the feelings quickly and well and are not wasting further energy on fretting. Congratulations!
Karl, good news about your employer, they do value you! Good luck with the landlords. You're not a *loser* you are continually making efforts to improve yourself and your surroundings. People are lucky to have you!
Hey Ali, what's going on with you?
Roxie, welcome home!! You were missed here! It sounds like you had so much fun. Good work on keeping up with meds and teeth. Give yourself time to readjust to the routines here. Did you make plans with your friends to keep in touch often thru emails?
I'm waiting for washer repair today. Correct beds are supposed to be delivered next week. Got a load of fuel delivered. I think it's going to be a tough winter (we hit freezing last night, a bit of a shock, I dread a hard winter) so a full oil tank makes me feel better. A couple winters we ran out and everybody was huddled under blankets.
My live-in daughter has been working hard on the piles of paper. I was overwhelmed so I let her go for it. She got 3 areas clear in the library and organized what she thought we should keep.
Have a great day everybody!

Hi Roxie :) What wonderful memories you have now! ;) Happy you slept so long and are now back to getting on schedule. WTG! :D
Hi Ali :D
Not much on my mental list of To-Dos for today. Mainly just going to continue resting and playing. :D Been watching some videos on the interwebs this morning and generally surfing. Another beautiful day here. Must make sure to spend lots of time soaking up the fresh air outside. Soon it will be too cold to spend much time outside.
Yesterday did some shopping and visiting with lots of people. Two different men, strangers to me, flirted with me. Complimented my attire. Boosted my ego & made Mr. Hoarder jealous. HaHa
Friday, everybody try to find some fun in it. ;)

Hi, honey, I'm home! The trip was grueling but well worth it. Got to hang around with friends from decades ago a lot at the reunion. I felt very sad to say goodbye because with health issues and age who knows if I'll see them again?
Met a couple very cool people in Dallas as we navigated FOUR gate changes for our flight to Albuquerque, with each of us disabled in some way. The lady from Peru who married a Frenchman then settled in the States was a hoot and turned out to be 83 years old! Glad to have spent time with Clara.
I got a lot done before the trip and not so much since I came back. I was up until 3am the morning I was to fly out only to find my alarm clock not working, so I stayed up all night.
I've kept up the meds and teeth chores, and have done dishes and picking up and garbage since I got back. Now I need to get into routines again, even if I'm feeling feverish. When I arrived in Alb. at 2pm, I checked in an lay down for a nap at 3pm then woke up 18 hours later. Glad I went a day early!
Hugs to all

Tillie, so happy to hear how good you are feeling, you have really put in the work to feel so good!!! This morning I did dishes, vacuumed, straightened up, spoke to boss on phone, changed back to smaller garbage can, called to get city bill in paper form, too hard to download statement and newsletter. A beautiful day here too, and I get to stay home until 5:45 today, so happy to have all day to fill the last week. Tillie, remember I asked you for support with a personal issue, phone call. Well took a month but tonight I am going to dinner with person I spoke to you about. Yes, I am a nervous wreck, first dinner outing in a few years I think. Think I will go out and paint something, my stress relief.

I had yet another all-nighter for no particularly good reason, took out trash, crashed early, up early. Hoping to (finally) talk to someone today about landlord-tenant issues, though I'm not very hopeful about my options.
Employer acknowledged my invoice and is sending a check, and says we can talk about more work, but they'll expect me to be more responsive in the future. That's better than the "Go away, loser" response I was half-expecting.

Good morning everybody :)
Another beautiful Autumn day here in northern Nevada. Will be in the 70s again today. But change is in the forecast for next week.
I have a great feeling of accomplishment for all I got done this week. :D
My plans are to kick back and enjoy the rest of this week.
Mr Hoarder has today through Sunday off from work. Today is his furlough day, tomorrow is the official state holiday for Nevada. October 31st. is the anniversary of when Nevada became a state. So, he has plenty of free time to do stuff around here. lol
Of course I will take care of the cat's needs, tidy up as needed here and not neglect any messes.
Have a GREAT day whatever you need to accomplish.

Hi Diane :) Sorry to hear about that. :(
I have a big mess of firewood in my yard. :D "HE" is out there now starting the clean up. Scooter loved sitting on the window sill watching the tree guys cut down the tree. Soon as they left, all the cats were out there checking things out.
On the log in it asks for a name and also a password. Ignore the password and just type in your name and enter.
Got the fridge all clean & shiney and did 5 loads of laundry. I am tired and need a shower. It was a GREAT day! :D

Tillie I am so excited about your tree and your happiness today. Right when I was celebrating how well work is going, I lost the money bag. Yesterday spent hours looking through house, garage and car, did not find. I really think I left car unlocked and it was lifted. I feel responsible and will replace the money, have made peace with it, at first I was ticked at losing it, felt guilty I am not more organized. It is done and need to move on. Good thing, made me organize some areas of house and car that became messy, just be happy about that. Another beautiful day here, too bad have to work, good I will work and make up for money I lost!!! This morning will do dishes, did laundry yesterday, bring firewood in this morning.

Good morning everybody! :D
Wednesday. Today's the big day! I was wide awake at 4:00am so I decided to just get up. Going to be another lovely day here in northern Nevada. Temps in the 70s.
I am sooooo looking forward to watching the men cut down that tree! :D
Also planning to do some laundry. Will be taking everything out of the fridge and washing the whole thing, including the freezer compartment.
Another lovely day here. Going to be in the 70s again. :D My To-Dos for today... Yesterday I sprayed the oven with oven cleaner so today I will wipe that all out. Have the stove rings soaking. Will lift up the stove top and wipe under there too. Also planning to clean the range hood. Took the oven racks and broiler pan outside yesterday and sprayed them with oven cleaner & will get those all shiney today too.
I don't cook a lot of meat and very rarely fry anything so this isn't a very dirty job but it does need to be done at least every year to keep it from becoming a hard dirty job.
Also need to water some stuff out in the yard. I don't water after it gets cold and stays cold every day but with this nice warm Autumn weather I will keep watering once a week.
Tomorrow the tree is scheduled to come down! :D
I am so excited!
Hope all your plans go smoothly today. ;)

I've sent the invoice to my employer, and asked whether they still want me to work. I hope the answer is yes, but it wouldn't surprise me if they've decided I'm not reliable.
I just learned that my email provider is shutting down at the end of this month. I hope they provide a way to do a bulk download of the messages I was saving.
Plan for Tuesday: cash in some bottles/cans at the recycling center; also, contact Sentinel and see if they have any useful info for me.

It takes a while to get used to the changes and the newly opened up spaces. Your usual routines get all changed, items are not where they used to always be.
On important things that I need to remember I write notes to myself and line them up on the counter or coffee table where they will be seen all the time. After I have taken care of whatever needed doing I love tearing up the note and tossing it. :D
