Hey

Lately some of the sentences were incomplete and then visible and so forth and so on.
Decided to try a new thread to see if that fixes it.

To not offend anybody with Triskaidekaphobia I made this phase 14.

See you soon 😉

Good Evening Everyone

Hi Tatoulia
YEA! for a cute dress at such a great price and it will make a cute nightgown too.
I wear some dresses as nightgowns too. 🙂

WAY TO GO! for eating better and avoiding sugar and fat!!!

Good luck getting Summer clothes all out and freshened.

Keeping two Winter throws is good.
I like being able to swap them out for a change and also having more than one if one gets messy.

Sometimes, many times closets and dressers seem to be too full.
But sometimes it's just because the storage area is not large enough to accommodate the well curated items.
I have no hanging closet space so I must fold and put stuff in drawers.
I have two dressers with three drawers each.
Also a 4 drawer chest of drawers.
All these drawers are not all that roomy and two in the chest of drawers have sewing notions in one and kitchen linens in the other.
I put shelves in my tiny cubby hole closet where I store all my bed linens, table cloths, towels/washcloths, etc. plus a stack of jeans.

It all looks like way to much stuff but when I count the individual items, I really don't have much, just very limited storage space.

So I can't have excessive things that I don't need and use like blouses, dresses or linens unless I keep strict to the "one in one out rule".
Rather than buying more dressers I just keep only the best and most useful.

Thank you for the advice and understanding, Tillie. I think I need to look through the shelves in my bedroom closet for a bit. Try to get a handle on what is taking up so much room. I also need to find my summer clothes and freshen them up.

I ran a few errands with BF tonight. I told him, I'm as dressed as I'll ever be. I'm in a casual dress that I bought at Lord and Taylor end of season for about $11. It's cute. Casual little dress that will eventually be a nightie.

Yes my little friend is so happy to have cotton to sleep on! I'll wash her bed over the weekend. I'll have dealt with part of my closet by then, so I will have space for her bed.

I'm going to go do the dishes. I'm still off sugar and fatty foods. I still drink some juice, diluted with seltzer, but off the heavy stuff. No brownies a la mode. Of course now that I've written that, it's all I can think of. Darn it!

SubC and CM I'll go back and read your posts. It looks like you've been doing a lot and that is terrific! I also am curious as to CM's roommate and any schedule for the treatment.

Joan!

What great news that you have found something that may help!

We miss you. Don't be a stranger. 🙂

CM,

I hope it was a pile that collapsed and not you. Good job making progress on papers!

I'm glad you have bunnies.

Tillie, I wish I could see your bead work.

Dd was tired and hungry when I got there and it is hot outside, so I just put the goodies on the steps. She had set out some yummy homemade brownies for me. I laughed that it was like when she left cookies for Santa.

I went to the studio the check for my pots. The guy who does the firing was on the other side of the parking lot (by the staff lunch table) when I got there, and he pulled his mask down and grinned at me. My second platter came out great - no cracking or warping and Dh likes the color, and my big bowl is gorgeous! Just what I hoped for! I have one small piece still in the kiln, but the firing guy told me he would put it on the top shelf out of the way and leave it there until I get it even if it is months from now. I was only in the building for ten minutes and didn't get within 6 feet of any of the people - who were all masked up anyway. All I touched was my pottery.

Meanwhile, my state set another record for cases today. Dh decided not to pick up groceries. We can still wait a while. He found the first few ripe blackberries this morning.

My mother is still sad about her hair. She says she can't do anything with it. I told her to just fluff it up with her fingers and let it dry - she has curls and it is adorable, like Meg Ryan. She says she's too old for that.

So sorry, SubC; I hope it will work out in a way that won't cause lingering upset for you or anyone else.

We had bunny board meeting today, and are planning for a garage sale in a couple weeks. I hope it can be okay and with proper distancing - everybody seems on board with wearing masks at the board mtg and stuff.

We'll probably have to be careful how we position tables so that customers observe precautions. I should probably bring up these concerns; we were more preoccupied with the fundraising aspects earlier and didn't get to that.

I clipped bunny toenails yesterday and dropped off a baby scale that I'd had in my storage that I used to weigh my own bunnies on. They will get more use out of it now. Today we got to hold baby bunnies.

A larger piece of news - my aunt passed away a little after 5:00 a.m. but I didn't find out till after we got home from the bunny house. (I don't do the Messenger app on my phone so I would've had to have thought to login again to Facebook to see the message there.)

So another funeral - perhaps not limited to 10 people but even if not the church should be big enough for social distancing.

Found out I can get my regular flu shot at the pharmacy which is not crowded at all in the daytime, rather than going to my doctor's office where there are a lot of sick children sometimes. That feels a lot safer.

It's late, it's been eventful, it will be eventful. More soon.

Hi Tatoulia
That's a good idea to take a break from the papers.
In a week when you get back at it you will be refreshed and have a clear mind.

Figured she'd sleep on whatever you put down for her. 🙂

Still 100 degrees here and the cooler is on putting cool moist in the house.
Makes my sinuses feel better too.

Not surprised you are a bit lazy today.
That work project must have taken a lot out of you.
It's OK to take time to regroup. (((HUG)))

Yes, the way things are going cancelling the marathon is for the best.
Next year!

Can you take a drive out and Eagle watch?
Here they keep the nest locations secret because of cruel inhumane humans.

Today I washed my lightweight coat and will pack it away when dry.
If it gets cold again I will just deal with it.

Keep adding to those donation bags.
I find it as cathartic as doing laundry to fill a bag. ;D

I am astonished that people here still remember me!

Thanks for the shoutouts. I have recently found that the bane of my existence, compulsive cheek-biting, is getting some proper attention. I went back to check online after 7 or 8 years, and one brave trichotillomania sufferer has managed to get a new classification for the disorder (besides "OCD"). These disorders, including trichotillomania, nail biting, cheek biting, etc., are now referred to as "Body Focused Repetitive Movements", or BFRMs, and are explained on BFRM.org. There is one woman who founded the organization and its associated website, which is devoted to providing information for those afflicted and explanations of the experience to those not afflicted. I highly recommend reading her "founder's story", published on the website.

Combining the new info on the site with a whole array of things I have been doing daily, I think I may be able to get the biting under control. It will take more persistence and self-experimentation, but hey - what else have I got to do? I don't have any kind of real life with the biting. I won't have any way to do more than just survive day-to-day unless I can stop the biting. In the "founder's story", if you substitute "cheek biting" for "hair pulling", the experience is basically the same.

Tat, are you sure you have worn out your Allbirds? It is hard to believe. Did you know you can order new insoles for them off the website for $15 a pair? Hah!

Love to all, Tillie, Tat, CM, SubC - and anyone I forgot. Later.

Good Afternoon Everyone

Hi Tatoulia
That's nice you two gave virtual house tours to each other.
Was her home picture perfect or a real place where she lives?

Good luck with your coffee table project.
But all that happened because you actually live at home.

Hope that infection goes away easy enough.

I think it all comes down to all of us making a million decisions daily as to what we feel safe with.
I would be safe at home if Steven did not believe the virus/pandemic was a conspiracy/lies and that the virus was only like having a mild cold.
And nobody has died from it.
Fortunately since his friend died he's been staying home in his garage except for his food shopping trips.
He can't go to thrift shops because they require masks and he refuses to wear one.
For some reason safeway allows him to lie and say he can't wear a mask due to medical conditions.
He refuses to go to appointments at the clinic for bloodwork because they require masks.
No bloodwork = no prescription refills.
No coumadin/warfarin = blood clots/strokes/TIAs.
The doctor at the hospital agreed with me that should he get the virus he would not survive.

Oh well...
Just as long as he doesn't infect me.
I can't fix stupid.

SubC! We are all friends with you! I truly had written a long supportive post yesterday.

Trust me, my heart is breaking for the choice you had to make. Safety is a very personal issue. My health comes before anything else right now. I was suffering with either allergies or a sinus on Friday night into Saturday, so I cancelled my plans to visit with my friend. She's the one I had dinner with on Thursday night. I've been to her house a few times since the pandemic. I know that riding in the car with her and with my BF seems scary. The trips are under 10 minutes, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. And we wear masks. It is a terrifying time and just as your daughter felt safe to go to a wedding, you need to feel safe by limiting your contact with people. I try to maintain a "no judgment, until it infringes on my health." I had cancelled a lunch with a friend a few weeks back because she just lives with too many people. Husband, children, parents, siblings and their significant others, etc. I felt the risk was too great for me. The one friend I see lives alone and she works at my company to she's working from home. My friends with the kids stay six feet apart from us. It's tricky and it's personal, I think. I am absolutely terrified of getting sick. This sinus over the weekend has me panicking.

Cm you are amazing! Do you see how much your thought process has evolved? You are applying it to all areas of your life, including, the mechanic is a good friend but unreliable. So keep him as a friend, and rely on others! You are so great!

Tillie I am so sorry about your continued pain. Slow down. Just slow it down. I know it's tough.

I did two loads of laundry yesterday.

On Friday I had a zoom meeting and afterward, the woman said, can I have a tour of your house? Do I took her on a tour of my humble abode. Then she took me on a tour of hers. And yes, she did see my messy coffee table. I should get back on that.

It seems like a lovely autumn day. It is nearly five. I've showered and will head out for a walk. Yesterday I was dizzy and lightheaded and had swollen glands etc. today I'm feeling good. Just drinking lots of juices.
I'm going for a walk soon.

Hi

Started to really tackle the clutter in my bedroom on Wednesday, but had a collapse and got upset, had to go hug some bunnies to calm down. Yesterday went better.

Also yesterday, though, my roommate got results from her doctor of a full body scan on Monday. There are a couple of places that lit up that are going to have to be further investigated. That kind of sucked the oxygen out for her and for me yesterday. But neither thing sounds super scary though perhaps there will be surgeries (I pray no Covid risk if so). One of the areas will be scanned on Wednesday.

She also got an antihistamine for the hives but it's the super-sleepy kind so she's napping. We've had thunderstorms a couple times this week and it was cloudy-dark this morning, so we both had slept in late.

Yesterday I did better on the decluttering front. Got things restacked, a few misc. pieces of paper gone, and some more diocesan newspapers that I can go through quickly pulled out. I knew there had to be more of those that what I recycled a couple months ago or so.

To avoid a pileup in future I need to take each one when it comes and if there's anything pertinent write it on the calendar or whatever right away. They keep the digital edition online but when I re-registered in the parish I started getting the paper ones again, and they do at least serve as a reminder to check what's going on.

I am so bad about not checking email or other things that are only digital. Maybe as I get more caught up I'll re-establish routines for checking those things. 😉

Tillie, those beads sound delightful and I know you'll make pretty stuff with them. It will help pass the time and bring positive vibes. And having the good food stash will allow you to stay home and be as safe as you can be.

I'm sorry Steven is making his and your life so much more difficult. But if I know you, you are sensible and won't be codependent to his poor choices. Still - you need a cyber hug for strength, so {{{CYBER HUG}}}

SubC, WTG getting 7 items off the To-do list, making the iced tea, and getting those receipts turned in. Relax and get into the groove with the babywatch.

Masking in my area has picked up but there are holdouts, and yeah the enforcement is practically nonexistent. I'm learning which places (like the convenience store) people are lax, so I can avoid those.

I'm just thankful for people who are being conscientious enough to wear them voluntarily. I really want to get my cloth ones sewn; they will be more protective and practical than the little throwaways I'm using right now. We're going to be in this indefinitely so the time spent sewing will be a worthy investment.

Hi Tatoulia, hope you, bf, and mom are doing well.

Hi Lori, Joan, and anyone else. 🙂

Tillie, I just heard the news to the Marathon. It's for the best, and I guess I never believed it would be held in September so it hasn't hit me hard. Obviously it was a real disappointment and shock when it was canceled in April.

Yes very good news on the eagle front!!!

Tillie I will make more bags to go out. I have one now. I'll just keep reducing. It's all I can do. I have two winter throws, both very nice, both in excellent condition. So I'll be keeping them. But it's two. So I have to look at other things to get rid of. I'm still working on my dining room closet too. I'll just keep forging ahead but I think I'll skip the papers this weekend. Too many little bits of paper that I can't control. So I'll give myself a week off from that so I can work on other things and not deal with the aggravation.

WTG Tillie! Getting your feet in order!!!!

It's humid here today so I've kept the windows shut. I have the ceiling fan on. I found kitty's white table cloth and folded it on her chair. And now she's sound asleep on it.

I don't know if I'm going to leave the house today. I'm a bit slower today than I've been. I did catch up with a girlfriend. We worked together many years ago and I cane across her address while shredding papers, so I sent her a note. We talked for just over an hour today. It was great fun.

Okay I'll need to figure out what I'm doing here. I'm a bit lazy today.

The bad news is The Boston Marathon has been cancelled.

The great news is that Massachusetts has a large nesting Eagle population this year.

I love driving out around the farms & fields where the huge old Oak trees are and seeing the Golden Eagles perched in the trees.

Good Afternoon Everyone
Just now a little after 12 here.

Hi Subclinical
SO sorry the mask issue is left dangling in your area. 🙁
Without enforcement of some kind too many idiot will continue to selfishly infect others.

A mask will keep people's saliva from traveling outside the mask.
I want to smack Steven and your Dh upside the head.

Glad they aren't rushing too fast to reopen the school.
Still too much risk.
Yes, an "audio video" set up with support would be better than aide.
The technical aspects are what you need assistance with.

Hope you get some groceries today. Want you to have all the foods you want, not just what you need.

Have a fun distance visit when you drop off the veggies, eggs and wipes. 😀
Let us know if she "looks" ready to drop. 😉

Got up and got running this morning.
Went out and watered the garden early while it was cool and had shade.
Jack kept rubbing on my ankles and flopping down on my feet and generally being a too affectionate pain.
So I put down the hose and fed him breakfast on the back porch to get him out of my way.
Came back inside and did two loads of laundry.
Did a bunch of little tidying tasks and picking up things and putting them away where they belong.
Finally brushed my teeth & washed my face then brushed my hair.
Went back out and brought in the laundry, folded & put it away.
Was starving so I ate an everything bagel with cream cheese.
Now I'm posting this...
Really want/need to vacuum.
He did not get out of bed yesterday until 5pm.
He is still in bed today.
If I vacuum he will pitch a fit. >:/
So until/unless he gets up I will rest now and play with my beads.

Good Afternoon

Yep, 100 degrees out there.

Since I'm stuck in the house I hot glued the sisal back onto the cat perch scratch posts.
Scooter test drove by scratching and said it was better now.

Watching Stephen King's "Desperation".
Loved the book mainly because the location of the fictional town of "Desperation" with all the supernatural spookiness would be located just down the road from me.
Unfortunately the movie was not filmed up here but rather down in the Sonoran desert by Tucson.

The Honeysuckle blooms have the whole garden sweetly scented and at times the scent comes inside. 🙂

Good morning!

Tillie I am glad you are well supplied.

I would love to see people actually wearing face masks. Our governor soft pedaled his order yesterday. He basically said in a news conference that there was no enforcement mechanism.

Dh actually said to me last night that he thinks masks are a personal choice in places that don't mandate them. I said "you mean it should be your choice about wether or not you are an (expletive) who doesn't give a (expletive) about other people?" At which point I learned that he doesn't believe the "masks protect other people" "line".

Sometimes he makes me insane.

Yesterday afternoon I made ice cream mix, and talked to all of my DD's and my mom on the phone. Dishes are not too bad.

My administration is finally communicating. They are scheduling small group online meetings with teachers to discuss the coming year, they sent out another survey to teachers, and they are now planning to delay the start of school until sept 29. I am feeling good about the delayed start.

We will apparently offer online options for in person classes, Which may be interesting. They are discussing the option of aides to handle the online interface and assist with additional clean up and sanitizing. I'd rather have a good webcam than an aide for most if my classes.

Today I am taking some garden vegetables and eggs and the baby wipes to Dd. I think Dh is going to do a grocery pick up.

So glad that I have enough food and water and cat food & snax to keep me home for the next month.

Current active positives in the county are now at 17.

Also relieved that stores are now enforcing the governor's mandate that everybody wear masks when in businesses.
But they stand to lose their licenses and/or be fined for not doing so.

Poor Steven. Can't go anywhere now since he refuses to wear a mask and loves to argue with store clerks and clinic personnel. ;p
