Alright, time to get this thing going again. I am not getting rid of enough stuff.

This morning I looked around my bathroom, got rid of one container I have been hanging onto for months but not using, as it is plastic and I am trying to switch to mostly glass, and one hair product I have had for probably 8 years but don't like it but hold onto it and use it like once every 3 months. It is just taking up space on my counter at this point, I don't even like it and it will take me until I am 90 at this rate to use it up, so out it went. 2 items gone.

I feel like stopping sometimes, too, SubC.

I worry my garage will become a storage unit when TotsFam moves out. We will just keep plugging along.

1 large office chair, 2 other random items, out forever.

So I took everything to the thrift store - about two bins worth. I also dropped off some books I had already counted out (included in the "about two bins worth). The little free library was very full. And very tempting. Also I spent $1 on an adorable giant rabbit bag. It is for carrying the Easter eggs for the hunt next year. It will fit in the egg bin. I am +6. Not counting a few things that are going straight in the "take to Birdy" bin and the "future baby" bin.

Sometimes I feel like I have come far enough and I just want to stop. But then I look at the basement and I know I have not. I'm starting to understand stand why people get storage units. If I had a storage unit, I could put all the holiday/dd2/"baby library" bins in it and my basement would be organized and functional by summer..

Don't worry, I'm not going to do that.

Working in my studio this evening - unpacked 29 pots I brought home from the city studio. I can't remember if I counted any of them (some were from an earlier box), but I have so many I'm just going to say I didn't.

I also found one thing to add to the car.

Yesterday I threw out a pair of worn out garden shoes.

Also the new truck arrived. I am counting it in because we will have two trucks until we take the other one to Ds in the fall. If I forget to count the other one out then, that's ok.

Also the very slow package of Legos to redesign my little man's house arrived, but I am not counting them in because I can hold them in a closed hand and they are going to become part of an already counted set.

So I am calling it even.

I do want to say that I put the new playroom toys neatly away on shelves in the playroom for my boys to discover.

Catching up from the last two days.

Two books in and eight things out, so net six out.
And started bringing home new pots (my sale is in one month, so I do need to be making inventory, I just need to clear backlog.)

I have also decided that, looking at home much space the new deploys take up, I need to uncredit myself one bin from the basement clear out. They are not as big as a whole bin, but they do not fit in the duplicate bin I have. Also, as we all know, things fluff. So realistically, I think I have only achieved three of the six bins I should have cleared out by the end of March to be on track for the year. (24 bins is an estimate of how much volume I have in the basement that does not have a place to go - is just piled on the floor or desk or in front of books on shelves. About a third of it is in actual large bins. I am currently filling actual bins and donating bin and all - because if there isn't space on the storage rack, having the bin doesn't help.

Coming to terms with yesterday.

I have decided to redonate the bubble wands. I can do better for the Easter baskets. But Dh says we are keeping the chicken hat, so we are still at 13. Plus I decided to keep a duplo farm set and a bag of the extra duplo blocks, so we will call that two. I would give the farm set and blocks to Buddy, but Dd is about ready to clear the duplos out of her house - which is nuts because Buddy is only 18 months - which is the starting age for Duplos!

So, 15 in. 16 with my new planner which came today (I will put the old planner with the scrapbook stuff, also, I am still using it through June.)

Net out 129
And ten pots.

That's progress, SubC. We can make small mindset changes that make a big difference!

Today so far, 3 items to the trash:

2 boxes of very old cleaning items
1 toy gun. I hate toy guns... one of the grandkids had it last year and I put it away, and just now found it. I did not ask the parents because I know my son would agree. It looks too realistic. None of them have looked for it or asked about it all year so out it goes.

Good job Lila.

I am also trying to make better choices about fixing things. Yesterday I stopped and fixed one thing instead of putting it aside to fix. It took five minutes. Then I put it away properly. I started to fix another thing and realized how much time and effort I was going to put into it and how unsatisfactory the results were going to be and I got rid of it. I didn't even put it on my "replace" list.

So yesterday, besides trash and recycling, 19 things out and nine pots.

Net out: 145
And 10 pots.

Worked in that little storage bedroom again today. Eight more items donated, and I also started filling a large box with things to move to the garage, for now. At least I won't have to look at them anymore until I am ready. So the room is getting more empty and I will be able to use it soon.

The closet is not sorted yet. It is a hard space.

Today I tackled a hard thing. The hardest room (small bedroom/storage room). I sorted about 1/3 of what's in there. I was able to get rid of 37 items. I think maybe 4 of them I thought were not worth donating so threw out, but the rest are in the donate box.

I also made a small box of things I am not sure about, too many memories, and put them in a little tote to go into the garage until I am ready to make a decision (I did not count those, as they are still in my house).

hi KIR! Good job on the dog stuff!

Today I got out a large tote full of printed photos from 2004-2006. Inside the tote were 5 boxes full of photo envelopes, each full of prints.

I got out all the enveloped and sorted, throwing out all the blurry one, pics that make me sad, random pics of zoo animals and forest pics, some duplicates, some bad angles. It was emotionally hard to look at hundreds of photos but I got faster and faster as I went along. It took me two hours, with a break in the middle.

I wondered how to count this but after I cleaned the bin and lid, I re-packed the boxes with photos to keep, and had 2 of the larger empty boxes left, which I filled with the discard photos and took out to the trash. I am counting 2 items (2 boxes full are gone, when there were 5 boxes to start with).
