Remember how the board would get bogged down and very slow to load and scroll after we had posted so many posts in the thread?
Well, I decided to start this new thread after we had reached another 2000 posts to prevent the inconvenience.

So, please continue posting what you are doing today here.

Good Morning Everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Anonymoniker ๐Ÿ™‚
WONDERFUL and uplifting post! ๐Ÿ˜€
Keep up this GREAT momentum and soon you will have a fresh clean home. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Karl ๐Ÿ™‚
WAY TO GO!!!
Fantastic job you did on the storage unit! ๐Ÿ˜€
Your new system will really be great when you just want to quickly grab something.
WTG! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday morning while I was vacuuming I was thinking about what was bothering me and if there was anything that I could do to fix it.
Something that I have control over.
Well, last week I discovered that "Pookie" my blue eyed albino cat has eaten the tiny string sized electrical wires off my doll house.
Now the lights won't work any more.
This really depressed me ๐Ÿ™
So, I got out my "Pink Floyd" lunch box of doll house supplies, checked out my extra electrical stuff and started rewiring.
Now all the lights except for the kitchen work again.
She totally destroyed that fixture, can't be repaired, need to find a replacement.
Looked online and they are EXPENSIVE and hard to find 1/24 scale. ๐Ÿ™
Now I will search around to find something suitable to make a light fixture with.
Checked here at home and found nothing but will keep an eye out when I go out.
I am feeling so much happier today! ๐Ÿ˜€

When we find ourselves stressing about things we can't change it's time to look for something that we can change.

Friday already!
Anybody have anything fun planned for the weekend? ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I went to a technology job fair in my area, and then visited my storage unit, where I spent almost four hours cataloging, discarding, or retrieving. I'm pleased with the results so far. I have an index of what's in the numbered boxes, and where they're located within the unit; I taped a hardcopy to the inside of the door to make it easier to find stuff in the future.

..oh yeah, i meant to put what im doing today...the electrician is coming for another load; another old water heater, old trailer skirting, old broken heaters, fans, partially rotten wooden pallets, old car and truck parts, swamp coolers, etc....yuck....but he is thrilled...and so am i!!!

Yesterday was an amazing day of accomplishment! My electrician friend came for 2 more loads of junk(treasures to him) while my new boyfriend cleaned and beautified the front/side yard(which part of that is healing a severe trauma i cant get into). The pile i had been working on for the dump on Friday, the electrician kept pulling stuff out of, so i kept having to add to it! ha ha Between my boyfriend gently confirming 'toss it. Junk is junk' and my electrician being like a kid in a candy store 'salvaging' some of the grossest stuff you can imagine, it was better therapy than i couldve ever hoped for!!! My place is actually becoming less overwhelming, and i can almost feel it being nice! I think a part of it for me is its become easier to let go, because i want to embrace my new life with my new boyfriend! The more i let go, the more freedom i feel!
I hope all of you realize you can do this and it could pick up momentum just around the next corner!

Good Morning Everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

Over the summer I forgot just how cold 40 degrees really is.
There are a million different things I could do today.
Some stuff needs to be done soon but I just don't want to do it.
Would like to crawl back in bed and pull the covers over my head and wish the world away.
Need to find some way to get me out of this depressing funk, always feeling like something terrible is just about to happen.
Right now it's cold and cloudy outside but if the sun breaks through I will get out there.
The chrysanthemums and marigolds are all in bloom. ๐Ÿ˜€
The house could stand a good tidying up so I will get busy doing that while I wait for the sunshine.

Missing you all (((hugs)))

second post ๐Ÿ˜‰

I don't know what it is like to work on producing a television program but I do know what it is like to work on a movie production.
They are probably very similar.
The day starts at 4:00am.
While having breakfast the whole crew discusses the days plans, safety is always the first priority, trouble shoot any issues, makes sure to keep good PR going with any locals then do make up and wardrobe.
Natural light is very important and as soon as the sun is up the work begins.
At around noon there is a break for lunch.
An hour later we are all back to work and work until the sun is setting.
After work sometimes there are business dinners where the next days shooting and other important things are discussed.
We all try to be in bed asleep by 8:00pm because 4:00am tomorrow morning comes fast.

Thank you Cory for being here for us. ๐Ÿ™‚

Good Morning Everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Cory ๐Ÿ™‚
Wonderful to know the spammers are on the run! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
Cory spent a whole Saturday morning trying to set up a system that would allow us to post and keep spammers out.
He tried lots of different programs that did not work and had to settle on this one since it was the only one that functioned.
We all know that sometimes our posts didn't appear with the old system and it just seems to happen more right now.
So please be patient, post often to get through.
This is not the way it will be forever. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, I made a post this morning
the message said it was received and pending approval
guess it got sucked up into oblivion.

It was a good day here, sort of sunny and cloudy, sorta cool and warm.
Had to get out another blanket for the bed because it gets below 60 now at night.

Hang in there everybody. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, Critical Mass, i really like your view on honoring the family member's death by breaking the hoarding cycle! That is a beautiful way to see it!
Congratulations on getting your storage unit reduced! And what a great idea to put that spammer to work helping! ha ha Ive seen that same spam all over the internet!
Im actually getting down near the end of my yard junk, especially after having some taken yesterday, unexpectedly! Im now having to start planning what building to approach next...in some ways that feels scary, but it also means im accomplishing my goals!!! YIPEEEE!!!
Tillie, i keep trying to think how you could get some compromise happening with your boyfriend. My parents bickered over my Dad's junk for years. Their sistuation was much simpler, tho. My Mom's complaint was seeing his stuff piled up on the garage porch out her kitchen window. I repeatedly suggested they put a wood fence type partition across it and have my artist sister paint it or grow flower vines in front of it, which would have allowed each of them to win, but for them i think the bickering over it was somehow preferable. Tillie, your situation seems much more challenging. I hope he comes around. You seem to be a wonderful woman and very deserving of a nice space!
~Happy de-hoarding to all!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Tatoulia ๐Ÿ™‚
FANTASTIC!!! WAY TO GO!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
With the non-shopping! ๐Ÿ˜€
That's GREAT that the laundry is done!
Hoping you got the one little task accomplished and feel GREAT for having done it. (((hugs)))

Hi Anonymoniker ๐Ÿ™‚
GREAT that the electrician took most of that dump load! ๐Ÿ˜€
Purging is really a good way to also purge all and any negative emotions laying around the home.
Letting go of all the physical things holding you in a frozen state frees up your inner space allowing you to grow. (((hugs)))

Hi Critical Mass ๐Ÿ™‚
WOOHOO! WAY TO GO!!!
Even without your minions you have accomplished a LOT! ๐Ÿ˜€
That is a wonderful way to honor the memory of your relative by decluttering in their name and memory. (((HUGS)))

Hi Cory ๐Ÿ™‚
That's GREAT news that this is helping to discourage the idiot spammers! ๐Ÿ˜€
Good Luck with the production. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank You! ๐Ÿ˜€

Still a little drizzly here, partial cloudiness too.
Good day to find stuff to do inside.
The cats are mad at me because they placed an order for warm and sunny, not cool and wet days.
Time for me to get dressed, scoop litter boxes and then I should vacuum and think about what else I am willing to do. ๐Ÿ˜€

Hello everyone again!

I miss the days when I was reading the posts daily. Hope to soon be doing that again. Sounds like everyone's doing well though, and that Cory's got the spammers on the run. Go Cory! Too bad they have so much extra time on their hands, isn't it. I'd like to put 'em to work helping me in my storage unit and if they made any snarky comment or rolled their eyes I'd go all Judge Judy on them: "SHHHH!!" Hee hee!

Anyway, it's fall, that fun transition time, too much to do whether it's activities or winterizing or whatnot. But - I have done some good in the storage unit! Woohoo! Two sessions now. I really still need those minions but I have been able to do some good on my own. The weather got windy here, and may rain this week. But I did do some.

There was a death in my family and I don't know when the funeral will be or whether I will get to go. I have agoraphobia and can't drive myself on highways and the cousin who usually takes me is out of state. So we'll just have to see how that all plays out. The relative who died was a hoarder and I figure even if I don't make it to her funeral, I'm honoring her memory by breaking the cycle, making positive changes, and encouraging others in their efforts to do the same.

Good morning guys, it seems like the amount of posts has decreased and I hope that's not because of the approval process now. The good news is I have managed to capture all the spam and one person in particular has just stopped even trying since they know that I'm approving these messages. So please continue to post and I will keep up with the approvals as often as I can. There can be a delay of up to 4 to 6 hours depending on what time you make your post. I am currently in Utah filming for Hoarders so that's a good example of why it might take a little bit longer. just know I will do my best to approve your post as quickly as possible see you guys can continue having this great place to share and continue supporting each other.

Have a great day!

Congratulations, Tatouli for going that long without shopping! Thats quite a while to just buy food!
Tillie, your description of what rain does to old stuff in the yard is priceless! I was outside after our rain today feeling that same thing about my yucky stuff, covered in mold, etc.
Id planned to get my next dump load together when it rained, so i went back to sleep and awoke feeling like id wasted the day, then my electrician friend called to check out what my new washer/dryer will need, and when i mentioned my collecting a load for the dump, he wanted to see what i was throwing out,and took most of it! YEA! I almost feel bad giving anyone that junk, but if he really wants it?! It does feel sooo soothing to get it out of here! I do want to get rid of more now...i think it is from seeing my new boyfriend's place and attitude....plus, im more ready to move on past those memories cuz of him! ๐Ÿ˜€

....im enjoying being at my new boyfriend's nice simple place so much...of course im loving being with him, but his place is so simple and quaint...when i come back home to my horrid place, it is very depressing...im not sure how to turn it into drive and inspiration....i have my friend lined up on Friday for another load to the dump...i just need to keep going...(sigh)...it is amazing how dirt, clutter and unpleasant memories can host depression...

Good Morning Everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

I can see on the main page that others have been posting but still no sign of their posts. ๐Ÿ™

Please keep trying to get through and hope this system straightens it's self out soon. ๐Ÿ™

Been raining steadily here since yesterday afternoon.
So nice to have rain after all this drought.
All the clutter in the yard and carport is totally saturated again.
Cardboard boxes tend to melt into the ground and vomit out their contents when they get wet.
But the rain cleans the dust out of the air and off the trees, making it easier to breathe.

Yesterday I finished hemming a drape and altering a few articles of clothing and now I don't have any sewing projects unless I start making a dress I have the fabric and pattern for.
Scooter likes to help. He feels that the sewing items all need a good shredding. ๐Ÿ™
Maybe I will just read a book. LOL ๐Ÿ™‚

Missing hearing from you all (((hugs)))

Good morning, everyone! I miss you all!

Tillie I forgot to tell you but I kept my no shopping promise up til about September 26th and have been following it ever since.

Right now my house is filthy, except for clean sheets and clean laundry. I'm still in bed right now and will get up and force myself to do one thing before I head out to see my mother. I need to make my "one thing" something ' unusual' meaning something I've really let go. Like dusting and vacuuming. Or wiping kitchen counters.

How embarrassing to admit.

Coffe clinks!

Good Morning everybody ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, some of my posts are missing too. ๐Ÿ™
Oh Well.........

Hi Purple:)
It all depends on the cat, the human and the grasshopper involved.
Marty needs no human assistance catching even the fastest grasshopper.
Scooter gets totally baffled as to which way the grasshopper hopped and keeps looking for it where he thinks it should be rather than where it actually went.
I have no problem catching the big green ones, it's the medium sized brown ones that I sometimes need to use the butterfly net to catch. ;D

Hi Anonymoniker ๐Ÿ™‚
I never tell him (not my husband, just been living together for over 30 years) what to do, ever.
Sometimes I ask him if he has any plans for the day and it's always the same.
He has spent the last 20 years trying to organize the garage.
It is a space that could hold four cars, has a loft/second story.
It is packed tightly with boxes/bins stacked floor to ceiling and lots of other stuff crammed into every available crevice.
A small path leads to one corner where he has a computer & tv set up.
There is food new and old/rotted, petroleum products, gun powder, paper items everywhere.
He cooks in there on a small hibachi, heats with a propane heater and does other terrifying things.
The place is full of deer mice and Hantavirus has been found nearby this area.
He is NOT willing to do anything.
He is happy living in squalor with the house falling to ruin from neglect.
And, the back porch is now clear but I still do not have access to the electric box or gas shutoff that are just around the corner out there.
He has choices and he chooses to not do anything except dumpster dive and thrift shop to keep adding to the chaos.

Was planning to water today but we had a little rain over night and it is supposed to rain more all weekend.
So that means I can do some sewing or read a book or do something else that's fun to do on a rainy day. ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope the people affected by the severe rains are all OK and drying out.
Stay safe.

Hi ๐Ÿ˜€

Looks like others have posted but no new posts are posted yet.

In case you all missed the news last night...
California has had some very severe rain/hail storms.
One area received three inches in only half an hour.
Flash flooding, highways closed, services disrupted.
Since Cory lives in the L.A. area we need to cut him some slack.
Hoping everybody is alright. ๐Ÿ™‚
Take care.

Tillie, i know you are really good at figuring out solutions, but if it were me, i think id approach hubby with 'What are you willing to do?' Maybe if he feels he is deciding what hes ok with, he will be more willing to bend? Safety is essential! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Good Morning Everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Purple ๐Ÿ™‚
That's true.
He knows we live in an earthquake prone area and that in 1958 there was an earthquake so strong it leveled over half the buildings in this county.
Shutting off the gas and electric after a severe quake is very important.

Hi Anonymoniker ๐Ÿ™‚
YEA!!! for getting the washer/dryer! ๐Ÿ˜€
Hoping this new love in your life gives you the motivation you need to get uncluttered.
Spending time in his place makes a big contrast when you return to your home.
Keep up the GREAT work you have been doing! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Karl ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, this is just to stop all the disrupting spam we were getting.
For now, this is the best solution Cory could program into the computer for the message board.

Today I will do some odds & ends around here.
Little projects that were easy to put on the back burner and forget about till later.
But now it's later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Missing hearing from all of you.
Please check in and let us know how you are doing (((hugs)))

Hi, all!
Its sounds like everyone is making progress, in one way or another. Congratulations!
Ive been spending time at my new clean-freak boyfriend's place, and when i return home, it really bothers me how disgusting my place is. I dont know if that will motivate me more, or what, but it sure is nice being in his quaint and simple, clean house!
Im buying a washer & dryer tomorrow from my stepson, so i will then be able to more easily clean the dusty clothes that have hung in my closet for many years, and start to wear them again more easily! I also discovered my towels and sheets must have been stolen at the laundromat a while back, so i need to replace them now, which will be nice, cuz they were all in horrid shape!
I am so in love and happy, but dont want to lose momentum on my place! Plus, he has given me a new aspect of inspiration to have a nice home! Im just grateful he didnt run away in disgust! ~โ™กโ™กโ™ก~

Breaker box and shutoff valve access seem like things he ought to understand.

Good Morning Everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Taking it easy today.
Was too motivated yesterday and did too much physical labor.
My rickety old bones are protesting today.
But I got some areas near the house all cleared and cleaned.
The clutter had also crept up onto the back porch and I got that all moved away too then I washed the porch floor which was really grubby.
All the stuff I moved had been where it was for months and months, not being used or dealt with.
I did not move it far, just out of my way.
When he saw what I had done he had a really mean and nasty fit.
Slamming stuff around, yelling, screaming, cursing. Scared the cats but not me.
Now I can at least get out the back door and onto the porch but still can't go any farther without being blocked by all the hoard and in the dark it's very dangerous to venture out there.
I keep telling him that in case of emergency we must be able to easily escape and I need clear access to the electrical breaker box and gas shut off valve.

OK, thanks for listening.
