I had 4 out, then I brought home a shelf from school and last night when dd1 picked up her boys she brought me three pairs of the jeans I like from the thrift store, so I am now even again. Just recording that to drop the mental tally.

Bought a stand for my booth. Pots out - 97 I'm going to do a deep search this weekend and see if I can get the pots to 100 before my sale. I think the original goal was 200 pots out - when I take classes, it includes firing for up to 25 pots, there are 6 sessions per year and I do some extra work at home, so 200 seemed like a good way to make progress. Next year I think I will track real inventory.

Good work SubC, still keeping track! I let one shirt from my closet go into the donate bin today! 437/500

Ok, Birdy's finished ghost handprint is an in. I counted all the jeans in, but two are leaving. Plus three pet items, a toy I got out of storage and tried with bean yesterday that we decided was meh, and a fancy box. Net -6 Totals Pots out: -95

I am not doing all that well. Two hats out. 13 items in to decorate for Halloween (besides Birdy's handprint - but almost half of them are battery operated tea lights). One old decoration out. So I am net ten things in. At this point, I am just wishing to be net zero at the end of the year! It seems unlikely. Pots out -95

I forgot that I ordered a set of flannel sheets in the summer that was on back order. It arrived yesterday. Pots out -95

After Halloween, will you keep all of the Halloween stuff in, SubC? I cleaned out a cabinet and am counting the things I tossed that I intended to keep (not counting the old expired food but AM counting expired seasonings etc because I normally keep them all). - pepper shaker 441/500

Yesterday I accidentally broke an example pot at school. I am keeping a free porch table. Pots out - 80

Go Lila! Yes, I will keep all the Halloween. I worked pretty hard on holiday decorations last year and I am trying to only keep/acquire ones that I will want to use for years and years. I did sort through when I put them out this year, and have two I am thinking about., but I think most of what I have will stay, with maybe just a few swap outs each year as some things that are not sentimental get old and worn. Actually, I will have more, because I made more handprint ghosts with my grandsons, but they won't be fired until later and will go up next Halloween. And I will probably buy more lights next year. I love holidays and I love decorating my house. Especially in fall and winter when it is dark and hard to go outside.

Decided to throw out an art project made for me by a student from years ago. I can still remember the student fondly without her childhood art. Pots out - 80

OUT! Finally! One bag of polished rocks I handed out at my class as part of my demo for pot burnishing, told everybody to keep them. Going Wednesday: 55 skeins or partial skeins of yarn (plus random small balls I didn't count) One loom. Pots out - 95

We got last year's yearbooks at school yesterday. So Pots out -80

I stuck the two Halloween decorations I was ambivalent about in the bag to drop off today. I don't have room in my life for ambivalent items. Pots out - 95

Three pots and two towels out. Pots out - 83

Shelf from thrifting. Also Dh broke a container and Dd brought me two replacements, so that's +1. Pots out - 95

So, I bought a pot and I'm not sure where to list it. I think as a thing, since I'm really tracking pots separately to try to manage my own work. Pots out -83 Items in +2

Went thrift shopping and added a net of five items that will stay here. I feel good about my choices though. Pots out-95 Items out - 37

SubC, but you are keeping at it, being accountable by posting here. It would be easy to stick your head in the sand and stop counting to avoid the uncomfortable feelings of not meeting your goals. But you keep on, and that is a positive step - awareness - that can lead to change. I hope to have something to add to this Tally by the end of today. There is a trash can by my bed and an empty box for donations on my bed, so I am set for success. Now to get my mind and body in line.

More puttering. Five more things out. Pots out - 78

Alright. Working in my room. 2 small items out (1 trash, 1 donate). I am not as motivated since I am already well past my goal of 360 for the year, as silly as that sounds. So I am making a new goal of 500 items for this year. 414/500

Lila, I completely understand that. Thank you for your thoughts. It is hard to keep admitting all the things I am buying/accepting, but I am. And how will I know where I am if I don't keep track? It's like my age and my weight. I tell people those perfectly casually (well, I only share my weight with people who can actually see me) and when people are shocked by that I say "what? I'm going to way the same/be the same age if I don't tell. You can see me." You guys can't see my house, but I need to pretend that you can. I added two books today. They are for Bean, but he is keeping them here. Pots out - 74
| messi | Posted: 18 August 2025 - 08:47 PM |
ok then. I will take the trash out now and not wait til midnight, when i am often too tired

I worked in the studio a little on Sunday, and i found another piece of pottery to discard. I also got another book in the mail. So pots out - 75 I didn't make my goal of 100 pots out in the first six months, but I did ok. I'm going to try to do 125 in the second half to get to my annual goal. I usually have more sales in the fall, so it seems possible. I will hopefully spend more time cleaning out the house in July.

Yay trash out! I found four things to get rid of and bought one. Pots out - 78

Yesterday five new towels I ordered arrived. (Dh is pleased) I think that is the end of my summer sale indulgences. I cleaned 40 items out of my closet. So net out of 35 for this post. Pots out - 75

Wow, it has been 2 months since I checked in, right after I made a new goal for myself of 500 items out in a year! I figured I would check in tonight and get ready to post some things going out tomorrow during Project Bedroom. 414/500
