Hello, I am just calling myself trapt. I am just overwhelmed, there's no where in my house that isn't cluttered. This isn't me. I used to be one of those 'minimalists': the kind that had hardly anything on counters or on coffeetable, etc. I used to know where anything and everything was in my house. Big or tiny, I knew where everything was. Now, I have to search and search every day to find anything. And its dusty. And the floors-I try but they aren't clean at all.
I don't know what happened to me. One of the biggest problems is I can't seem to throw paperwork away or paper. And I seem to accumulate books, and read a few pages and then I have books almost everywhere. Its a mess. I don't know how I got this way. Thank you for reading. Thats me...trapt.

Hi Cory,
Thanks for your suggestion, I already read it.
The page mentions "tens of thousands of books", but what about cases with, say, less than 250 books? Can it also be considered as bibliomania? Is it an issue of quantity, attitude, or both?

Hi Mar,
Thanks for your question. It is probably easier to direct you to our website page which outlines the different types of hoarding behavior. We discuss Bibliomania here as well...

Hello, Trapt.
Try to remember since when you have been this way. Did something happen then? How was/is your mood? Has it changed?

Hello, Cory Chalmers.
I would like to know more about this because also have a lot of magazines, books, newspapers and other reading materials. Would you be so kind as to share some information here? So we all can see it 🙂
Thank you.

Hi Trapt,
What you suffer from is a particular type of hoarding referred to as Bibliomania, the collecting of literature, reading materials, paperwork etc., and it is fairly common. There are many reason for this including (but not limited to), fear of identity theft, fear of losing information, and needing to fuel the brain, or feeding the imagination. There are ways to work through this, and if you want some suggestions, send me an email...cchalmers@1800HOARDERS.com. Best of luck AND success to you!
