I got more yardwork done yesterday. One of the neighbor kids helped me bag up the leaves and stack the pruned branches by the curb. I put a metal chair that the bottom was rusting out and a wooden bench that was beginning to rot out for trash pick up. A man who collects scrap metal threw the chair in the back of his pickup. Having a neat, pretty front yard and porch makes me happy.
Today it is raining so I need to focus back on decluttering and cleaning the inside.
I need to go look at heavy landscape timbers. I've got new neighbors on the south with a new dog that is working on digging under my fence. He has already bowed in the bottom.
I spent some time ordering seeds to start inside. I can't wait to start gardening again. Puttering around with my vegetables, herbs and flowers will be one of my rewards for working inside. We are having a late spring and the soil is not ready to work yet.
Have a great day, everyone.

I am going to be a little less ambitious with my plans and goals for today. If I try to cram too much into today, I may get discouraged. It is true that sometimes, "going with the flow" in my daily activities can be a problem for me. I can get sidetracked by too many things. On the other hand, though, at times I can get too rigid in my thinking, too narrow with my planning, and end up being hard on myself (physically, emotionally, otherwise) without realizing it. The only specific goals I am going to post for today are to add to my gratitude list and to consult the to-do list I started on Monday. Those are two habits I wish to build into my life.

Karl, so great to hear from you. Obviously, you have a new place picked out now. I hope it really works out well for you!

Hugs to everyone.

Sorry I didn't make it to tonight's chat -- somehow I'd gotten the idea that today was Monday. Anyway, I spent the evening getting stuff moved from old-home to new-home. (And some stuff back to storage.) I'd brought enough stuff that I could have slept at new-home tonight, but I decided I'd be better off returning to old-home and preparing more stuff to migrate. I treated myself to some ice cream tonight.

Following up on today's goals: I got at least a little bit done on each one of my goals except for one: I didn't work on my "paperwork project" at all today (unless you count the time I spent on it at 1am when I was having trouble sleeping). I feel pretty good overall about how I spent my time for the day, and that's important. One of the things on my to-do list was to go do some outside work. And Roxie: I did wear my dust mask! Hopefully, no headache tomorrow!

Hope you did have fun, Tillie!

Good morning 🙂

Hi Diane 🙂
WAY TO GO! 😀
making all those phone calls and getting things rolling!
Very happy you got outdoors too. (((hugs)))

Hi Roxie 🙂
YEA!!! 😀
for getting the car running!
You sure had a busy day yesterday, WTG! 🙂

Hi LR2014 🙂
You have been doing a GREAT! job making plans and getting stuff done! 😀

Yesterday got the house cleaned and even did some dusting.
Need to do some laundry but looks like it will be rainy & cold until the weekend.
My plan for today is to straighten my closet, read, do some beading and generally have FUN 😀

Keep up changing the things you can change. 🙂

Roxie, glad you got your car situation taken care of! Sounds like you got a lot done yesterday!

Diane, way to go! Wow!

I'm glad you mentioned the chat, because I almost forgot that tonight is a chat night, too. (That's not solidly in my routine yet.) I remembered it two days ago, but my mind has been on so many things the past 24 hours that tonight's chat had already slipped my mind!

As for my goals...

Following up on my goals from yesterday: I did get my floors worked on and made a very significant amount of progress on my "paperwork project." I did not get the countertop area worked on yet.

Today I plan to continue the "paperwork project," work a little on the countertop area (although I won't finish it today), and get some bills paid. I plan to add to my gratitude list. Finally, I intend to look back at the "plan for the week" that I wrote up yesterday morning (something I wouldn't have done yesterday had it not been for the chat) to see what I need to work on today from that list. (I'm really glad I made the list, because I already noticed one thing on the list that would totally have slipped my mind if I hadn't written it down!) May make it to the chat tonight if I can.

Have a good day, everyone!

Got the tow company to take my car to the dealer, got the lawn mower guys out to pick up my riding mower. The car battery was shot again (!!) and he put in a trickle charger for me so now I just have to plug the car into an electrical outlet and it will keep my battery charged. Hope that solves it.

While waiting I did all the dishes, wiped counters, picked up things scattered about the patio and put them where they belonged or tossed them. I swept a bit and cleared some leaves. More work to get done but it's nicer.

Went to Lowe's and got a new string trimmer with free battery, parrot lopper, stain and paint samples, locks for my two patio storage units, new doormat, Ortho Ground Clear. I'll work here and there outdoors as weather permits.

I also did a grocery run and put away perishables. Today I'll put away clean dishes and the non-perishables and change out the litter box.

Chat was so helpful last night. This morning I wrote down the people and phone numbers I needed to call. First called repairman, he was so helpful and talked about things he does and doesn't do. He will come over next week after I email him the list of to do's.
Then I called doctors office and nurse said I need to come in to talk about bone scan. Called appt. center a few times, let it ring for ever it seemed, will try again tomorrow. Woman who wants to bring dog over this week did not call until late this afternoon, will call her back in the morning.
I got all dishes done and put away.
worked on drying kitchen ceiling with heat lamp.
Did lots of yard work, and my favorite, burned some old weeds and leaves.

Good morning 🙂

Wonderful to read all your plans and accomplishments! 😀

Scooter is feeling so much better. That big worming he got from the Vet was exactly what he needed.
Slept in till 8:00am this morning and am moving slow. Had a major "Charlie Horse" leg cramp during the night.
Today I will clean the bathroom, wash the floors and vacuum the carpet.
Will do more stuff like dusting if I am feeling up to it.
Cloudy/rainy/cold day again today. Good day to be inside. 😀

Last day of March! Tomorrow we get a fresh new month. 😀

@LR2014 here is the "small statement/big impact"

I understand about the "no facebook" sentiment.

I also saw a thread on here that said something like "quote for the day". I will look for that one as well.

Good morning, all.
I had to get up early today to take the dogs to the vet. I am changing their heartworm preventative because the pharmaceutical company that produced the one they were on no longer makes it. Both dogs are herding breeds that carry a drug sensitivity gene, so they are under observation today as they get the first dose of the new medication in case they would have any life threatening reactions.
MacDonalds is offering free coffee the next two weeks, so I popped in there for a cup.
I had to stop in the hardware store for a new hacksaw blade but ended up paying a few dollars more for a new hacksaw with a comfort grip handle and quick angle change setting. I also bought more biodegradable yard waste bags that my sanitation laws require.
I also stopped in at my local fix-it shop to see when I could bring the mower in to get it ready for spring. It is worth it to me to pay them to change the blade, change the oil, put in a new filter, and change the spark plug. They do a good job and need the work as their business was blocked off all winter for sewer line replacement and road construction.
Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous here. The first springlike day we have had since last October. I got some yard work done, walked the dogs, and visited outside with neighbors I have not seen all winter.
Today I will do laundry, finishing raking the yard, and take out the little trees that are popping up along the foundation of my house. It feels good to be able to work outside.
Have a great day, everyone.

Goals for today:

I've worked on one goal already, something I committed to at the chat last night: making a plan for the week. I'm not finished with making the plan, but it's started. I also added things this morning to my gratitude list.

A few goals for today: getting certain bills paid, working more on organizing my paperwork, and spending a minimum of fifteen more minutes on the floors. I also (either today or tomorrow) want to clean up a specific kitchen countertop section. I'm holding my plans for today a little bit loosely, because I have plans to get together with a special friend I haven't seen for quite a few months who happens to be in the area. (Fun!)

Good luck to all with your own plans and endeavors!

Glad to get to be at the chat. Sorry I got there a bit late and missed some people. I'll post my goals separately in a few minutes.

Roxie: Car, then mower? Ugh! At least the washer finally started! Yea!

Diane: Continue to wish you well with all that cleanup from the leak(s). Soooo much work involved! Whew!

Darci: Keep on keeping on. So often we "underappreciate" or don't recognize at all the progress we've made.
Where do I find that "Small statement, big impact" section that you were talking about? Is it a thread on this message board, or is it elsewhere? I'm not on Facebook, period (never have been and don't wish to be at this time), so I guess I won't be seeing the Facebook section you mentioned. Nice that Cory set up something like that, though.

Hi, all. Yes, I'm reading and cheering you on.

Yesterday I decided to go to the store, but my car does not start. No click, no sound at all, and no lights or anything. So I'll call my repair people and will probably have to call a tow truck. Grrr.

Then I tried starting my riding lawn mower. Same thing. So I'll make my annual "gee, it's time to mow and the mower doesn't start after sitting all winter" call. Double grrr.

I did do a load of laundry and it's nice to have those clean clothes. I rounded up the Sunday paper and the week's mail and quickly went through the mail, dumping most of it.

These boards are a WEALTH of info and ideas. I was reading the "Small statement, big impact" quotes and came across this one. 'Perfectionism leads to procrastination which leads to paralysis.' WOW.... if that is not where I am at!! So, to help jumpstart myself into ACTION, I revisited techniques that have worked in the past. One of which is to re-visit my past successes on this journey. Not only did I revisit them, but shared them too. Definitely helped me realize that no matter how overwhelmed I am, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. So, please help share some of these successes and help me keep my "eye on the prize":

Hello everyone. Friday rain started running into kitchen again. I had empty plastic bins all over. Ceiling was sagging so put support boards with pans upside down on top so board didn't push though mushy ceiling.
All day yesterday I took everything apart that I previously patched when kitchen had leak. Repatched it all. Kept having a nagging feeling that it was coming from somewhere else, often leaks come from other places. I went with the hunch, and scraped much more of the build up off. After working all day and cleaning up, I found the culprit, I hope. It was an unknown nail hole that had been uncovered last week when I spent days scraping old crap off. It is raining hard and no drip yet. Yesterday I was ready to burn the place down, but dont have homeowners insurance. Wouldn't really burn it, but I had really had it with this old problem packed trailer. No problems to speak of for years, then this year it has been one thing after another.
Once I figure out if the leak is fixed have to repair kitchen ceiling. It is old flakey stuff, from 1967 when trailer was built, so some of it fell off into bins when water was flowing heavily in here.
Today I cleaned all the tools I used past weeks, had tar build up on them, took a couple of hours. Lesson learned, clean after use, don;t just keep using more. The roofing tar hardens after a week and was really difficult to get off. Dishes are in hot water soaking, with several water changes, yep, kept doing repair stuff. I am tired and may just wait to do them. I did clean up the sand and oil I used to clean the tools. I made myself throw away stuff. Not ending on a bright note, but working up on roof all day yesterday in heavy winds really wore me out.

Snow is covering everything again. I'm slugging along making tiny inroads.

Happy that you got a new washer Roxie. Clean laundry always helps.

Like LR I've moved my gratitude list to private for me. So much I am grateful for but don't want to put online.

take care all ~~

Hi everybody! Just getting some stuff done before work. I cleaned up the kitchen and sorted my laundry.

The chicken turned out pretty good! I would do it a little differently next time but overall it was a success. I'll have to look at those Kraft things though for future chicken adventures.

LR - Not sure if there is a specific thread about things that work but it's a good idea.

I went to do a load of laundry in the new washer and the washer didn't start.... Eventually, I noticed that it was not plugged in. LOL

I was thinking about starting a new topic, such as "Practical clutter-reducing and organizing ideas that have helped me: What ideas have helped you?"

If we have a thread like that going already, let me know so I don't duplicate it. Also, if you have a better idea for a way to phrase it, let me know.

Here is one example of an idea that has helped that I would put there. One author whose work I've read said that for some of us, we may own too much of one thing but not enough of another. As one example, she mentioned that some of us own far too few trash cans. I thought about it and realized she was right. I bought more trash cans to put in more places in my home years ago, and it helped me a lot. She also gave as an example that some people have lots of books laying around, yet no bookcase. I realized that was true for me, and I bought a bookcase. (Most of my books fit in that one bookcase, so that's good.) Simple ideas, but ones I'd never thought about for some reason until this author brought them up.

Thanks for all the encouragement, Tillie. Having a slow morning because nasty headache is back. (And, no, this time I did not spend time working outside yesterday.) Think it's just that allergy-time-of-year thing. Usually when I get these, they "calm down" by the time evening hits. I know I'd better be at the chat, or else! 🙂

Am working on dishes off and on, so at least I'm getting that much done.

Good morning everybody 🙂

HEY! Roxie! 😀
YEA!!! WTG!!!
Fantastic! 😀

Hi LR2014 🙂
Great reading all your plans, accomplishments and struggles.
Sometimes just writing things down helps clear our minds and helps s focus. 🙂

Hello Kazzora 🙂
Without resources people have to do all the work by themselves and hopefully they can find some volunteers to help them.

Hi Dave 🙂
How's it going? How is Mrs. Dave? 😀

HELLO everybody else 😀
love to hear from you all just to know how you are.

Wind died down late last night then it rain a LOT.
Light breeze today but I do see some sunshine. 🙂
A warm 35 degrees at 8:30 am. 🙁
Lots of trees blooming so I have been sneezing/coughing/blowing my nose constantly.
Don't want to take any Benadryl because then I just keep falling over asleep.
Oh Well, 😀
After I do the daily cat related tasks I think I will do some sewing projects or maybe do some decorating in the doll house or maybe I will read or maybe do all those things. 🙂
Tomorrow I must clean the house.
Everything has a thick layer of dust/dirt/sand on it from the blowing winds.

Sunday night chat (ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP) 5:00pm PST.
Be there or we will talk about you.
Just kidding ;D

Not that this is all I plan to do for today, but the only specific goal I am posting for today is to work on the gratitude list that I started a few days ago on my computer.

LR2014

Following up on my goals for today: I did spend at least an hour on the paperwork. Because of some things that came up, I did not do the outside work I'd planned. The "things that came up" did give me more insight, though, into some of my patterns that slow me down from accomplishing some of the tasks I wish to do. Being more clear on those patterns is helpful.

K., I'm new to this group as of about two weeks ago, so I'll let more experienced people comment on your Ohio question. I would like to make you aware, if you're not, of the Sunday night online chats. (Look at the "online support group" part of this interactive help site for times.) You might get some questions answered through that.
