I'm a spouse of a hoarder. Whenever I tried to look for solutions, I get "Here's why people hoard" articles. I never heard a single story about a hoarder overcoming it (TV shows don't count), which indicates that you must either just live in it or leave...neither of which I want to do. However, these "Success stories" give me hope. So thank you. BTW: I do realize it may come down to that binary choice. | |

Thanks for sharing! I watch these shows too and sometimes it helps me get motivated to clean for a while, but then it all comes back down to me. But now I'm inspired by the show to seek counseling and really start the hard work that needs to be done. When I feel stressed about this process, I even take a few minutes to join Driving Directions to clear my head and get my spirits up before I continue my self-care and make positive changes. | |
