Hello,
I am new here. I had a bad situation. Our 5 rooms upstairs were hoarder show worthy, no food, just stuff. I kept putting off cleaning, just if I pretended it wasn't there it would go away. Well I live with my 81 yr old mom and she had visiting nurses in who we think left us with the gift of bed bugs. We are "clean" people we just keep everything. So bottom line is that we could not have the heat treatmentdone until the house was cleared so they could walk. So when this happened, no one wanted to help, I can't blame them. I was on someone else's timeline, I had to take off 2 weeks from work. Two 40 yrd. Dumpster later, the house was pretty much empty. I'm dealing now with the aftr effects of throwing everything we owned away

It's hard. The pests are supposedly under control but I need to basically have my house sterilized and cleaned. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them?

I just need some help. My nerves are shot and I'm trying to function post hoard. I don't want to ever go back to that.

Hi Feeling Lost 🙂
So very sorry to hear you had to do a major purging so quickly without any mental preparation beforehand.
You can post all your fears, frustrations and questions in "The Daily Chat" where sympathetic people will try to help you.
If you can afford and are willing, therapy would greatly help you learn how to not reclutter.
There is a link at the top of this page, "National Resources".
Click on that then on your State to find a counselor near you.
Bed bugs happen to people all the time these days and are hard to eradicate. Wishing you all the best being done with them.
