He is only 42 but has had diabetes since childhood and, when taken to the emergency room for a severe episode, crashed twice and was revived. He is doing well and trying to get back to normal. I met him not long before this happened (2 months) and he was house-sitting so I'd never been to his house and it wasn't discussed. Through his recovery, though, we began talking and he has admitted to being a hoarder and not being able to return to his house. He is trying to gather the strength (emotional and physical) to go back to at least clean out the refrigerator and freezer in the basement which he thinks will be horrific. This is haunting him and he just cannot make himself do it. He doesn't, of course, want me to see the house itself, let alone the refrigerator which he thinks will be beyond horrible. He can't afford a clean-up crew. I think I am helping him emotionally feel a little hope but a great concern is his health: He can't lift over 10 pounds and he shouldn't be around toxins. What to do?? Anyone know of any companies that would do this as a charity/ministry?
