Hi Acorn mama

This is how we get it done, one task at a time.
Keeping up with the daily maintenance of dishes, laundry and taking out the trash.
Then adding in an extra task to tackle.
This way we don't become overwhelmed by trying to do too much in one day.

Good luck cleaning your fridge! :D

So since I am new here I decided to start at the bottom of the task page, and this is first, I have been avoiding this task like the plague for 3 days now, but it must be done so I guess this is my task for tomorrow.

May May,
I don't think you are crazy, just motivated. Nothing wrong with that. You tell your mom to give me a call...I will set her straight! You just keep plugging away. We are proud of you :)

Ok, so in the middle of the night last night I was having trouble sleeping; so I decided to clean out the fridge and freezer. Cleaning out the fridge was nothing compared to cleaning out the freezer. In the fridge I just got rid of some left over food and condiments and then wiped down the whole fridge. In the freezer however, I found and got rid of over 10 old frozen dinners that were almost a year old, about 5 half eaten containers of old ice cream, and other frozen stuff that was not that old but it was still old enough to throw away. Then I wiped down the whole freezer. While I was in the process of cleaning out the fridge and freezer, my mom came out to the kitchen and asked me what the hell I was doing. When I told her that I was working on "The Weekly Task" she looked at me and told me I was crazy. lol. :)

Done! Wipe down inside and out once a week, remove shelving and drawers once a month (more often if needed)

I have a tip: After using condiments, remove the cap and clean under running tap water & then wipe down the bottle and neck with a paper towel and hot water (no soap)- put the cap back on and place in fridge.

I clean my dad's refrigerator and the food waste is huge! Yet, he just does not "see" that food has gone bad. Scary thing (to me), he would eat the bad food if I didn't toss it out and take the trash home with me.

I'm up for this task! :) I love cleaning out the fridge. Every time we clean out the fridge we always end up playing the game, "Guess the Smell!" lol. :) plus the freezer definitely needs to be cleaned out. I know there are at least 2 frozen dinners in there that are almost a year old. :)

Oh how I wish I could get my hoarder to clean out the freezer on the fridge!

Everything in there is his and it is so jammed packed you couldn't get one more thing in there.

Fortunately for me I have a small deep freezer.
He had 3/4th of that stuffed with abandoned foods too and some really strange things :O but several years ago I made him clean it out and do not allow him access to it any more. :)

In the fridge he has the use of the bottom shelf and the botton section on the door.
Those areas are crammed full too but I do make him take it all out and make sure it's not spoiled every week.
He wastes a LOT of food.

Tomorrow will be a good day to redo the fridge & wipe it all down. :)

OK, so we got a small response from last weeks task, but it will catch on :)

This weekend, we are tackling the refrigerator! Let's get into the stockpile of refrigerated goods and thin it out. If you are like me, there are probably a few condiments at minimum you could get rid of...you know the half empty pizza sauce jar from 6 months ago when you made homemade mini pizzas, the cocktail sause from 2009's New Years Eve Party. Am I close? Lets all do our part and remove what we are not eating regularly. This will also reduce energy as your refrigerator is not struggling to keep these items cold! And while you are there, might as well get the Windex, 409, or your favorite cleaner and scrub it clean. Don't forget the freezer. Make like an archeologist and dig out those ancient TV dinners and frost bitten packages of who knows what. Your task has been delivered, so get to it :)

Have a great weekend everyone!
