Worked on the family room, especially one tall shelf in the corner.

Gone:
2 water toys
1 bottle of bubbles
2 old dustpan brushes
1 racquet
1 box of sidewalk chalk
a tool, and two other things

10 items gone, total.

I stared with the upstairs storage bedroom.

7 items gone! Pretty good, considering I have sorted that room several times this year.

1 towel
1 kid's Halloween costume
1 zippered storage bag
1 velvet lined box I have saved for 15 years and never used
1 dress-up skirt
2 more random things I can't remember

I am down to the last few items to find places for, got stressed so am taking a break. I should be able to finish that room in 10 minutes.

Into the donate bin: 18 items of baby clothing. They belonged to my youngest, and then my grandkids wore them, and it is time to let them go.

I'm back. Almost a month has passed.

Donated - nearly new blue jacket that I never wore because I am not a fan of how the sleeves look.

Gotta start somewhere...

I ordered 11 fancy cookie cutters for my pottery and they arrived today, so I went out and found 11 old style ones I can part with - calling that a draw.

Also found ten pots that aren't worth glazing - headed to the dumpster at class.

It was a good sale today.

I sold 31 things that are not my standard kept in stock items, traded two, and unfortunately broke one - it happens.

But that is 34 pottery items out. (The things I bought and traded for are general items in) I think I am going to struggle to get to 100 by the end of summer, but I will keep trying. I definitely want to lighten the low end of my stock.

So, the shopping/trading
2 garden stakes, two little sculptural pieces for me, two for gifts (don't count), and an espresso cup. 5 in.

+32 for 2025

Still at -5 for pots.

I really hope my sale goes well Saturday!

Lila, I am impressed by how fast you are moving!

I took two "rework" pots to toss out on Friday, and I gave one to my friend today, so that is 5/100 for spring/summer.

I have finished 24 good pots in my class so far, but most of those are intended for sale. (The bad pots have gone in the dumpster - yay me!) This is why I am trying to do 100 out around my spring/summer sale - I need to sell/discard more than I make! I already have a bunch of inventory!

I have thought about my shopping trip yesterday. I am going to count the abc blocks as one in, because they are clearly taking up brain space and physical space, but if/when the extras leave I will count one out and the replacement figures don't count.

The toy sets are one in each, plus book and shirt. Most of the trays I will not count because they are just sliding into existing shelf space to corral small objects and improve existing storage and have been on my watch for list, but one stacking set I will count as one.

So, +30 for 2024

I did take a "rework" pot I decided I was never going to rework to the pottery studio with me yesterday and throw it in the dumpster. I have decided that since I work on new pots when I go to the studio I will make myself take one "rework" every time. If I make new pots instead of reworking it, into the dumpster it goes.

So I am 2/100 out for spring/summer

The sorting is getting harder and it is slower going, but that's good in a way. It means I have gone through most of my things again.

Today's win: I took all the donate stuff to the charity and donated it. And as I was leaving, I grabbed a pole light that has been gathering dust in my bedroom, always getting in the way, but I thought it might be useful or something, someday... donated it, too.

Thanks SubC! It does feel good to move it all out.

The bed and frame came from the little bedroom I've been using for storage, so now there is room in there to sort! The bed was piled several feet high with stuff, and the floor covered in bins and boxes. I donated several things from that room.

The rest came from my bedroom, the garage, and the outside storage room. So now there is space to start moving things out of my bedroom that don't belong there, don't have space for right now, but want to keep for when I move out. Plus I will keep on decluttering as I go.

I worked on my bedroom, and the little bedroom/storage room. I gathered some donations and also put some boxes together to be taken to Teen. I did not count anything that was already packed for her (many boxes of her things, from months ago) but I am counting things that I find while I am sorting my room and little bedroom, which I was saving, but have decided to just send them with ex to her.

Today

Donation box:
new 3-ring binder
antenna
plastic food

Boxed and sent to Teen:
clothing
a coat I was going to save and wear
2 laptops
a lot of books
skirts
box of shoes
porcelain doll
her towels, quilts, etc from childhood
hats, gloves, a camera
stuff we got at concerts
backpacks
lamp
milk crate
arm and ankle weights
record cleaner
I don't even know what else

You are making good progress Lila. I know this is a really hard time, and I am proud of you for channeling your feelings in a positive direction. I know it would be easy to stay in bed or make unhealthy eating choices.

Staying active and working toward your goals will help at least a little with your mood.
