Threw out a bag of dog treats I think my dog is allergic to.
Donated a stupid, big muscle roller thing I have kept because it is pretty new and I "should" use it but never do an it is just taking up a big spot on my floor.
Donated a dog toy.

Good plan, CM! Glad you are posting here.

SubC, you are making good progress!

I am motivated to hit 100 items gone today. I woke up and folded a shirt that is becoming threadbare and put it in the donate box. They recycle clothes with holes or something, I am told.

Thought of something - I had found another book to go, so it is now in the box out in the van. I'll be doing something with those books soon - I have that one to see if I can get trade credit for at the used bookstore, and it occurred to me that a few of the others might also be ones they'd want. The ones that I can't trade, I'll see if I might sell at the senior center bazaar, and then at the end of it all donate the remainder to the senior center and/or the library bookstore.

A few more things today:

9 more items to the trash
4 more items in the donation bin - a wood ruler, a dog poo bag holder, a cup I don't like, and a pillowcase that's too short.

Good job!

I dropped off another plastic grocery bag of trash. I am generating more trash these days because I am cleaning out in the studio and becoming more resigned to not spending the time and water that would be required to clean some of this stuff enough to recycle it. Also Bean is wearing pull-up style diapers and they are bigger.

Well, I wanted to get another bag out before the trash truck came so I went into my hall closet and went through supplements and stuff, tossed many expired (but not all, it is still hard) and then went into my bedroom and had 2 tubs of nail polishes. I determined to narrow them down to 1 tub. It was kinda hard but I went through quickly, tossed the ones that I know are really cheap like $2 polishes and any old/discolored. I got it down to 1 box, barely. Tossed 43 items. Adding to the Daily Tally.

Trying to get some momentum going to declutter today.

I threw out one long zip tie. I have no idea how long I had it or why I had it.

Last night I also dropped off a big bag of clay bags at the studio - they reuse the plastic.

Ok, I'm not totally sure what left, except a paper bag of trash, but I made four trip to my classroom and only one trip back from my car and I think some of that is permanent. Mostly things I bought this weekend, but a few bits and pieces.

Definitely a paper grocery bag of trash.

Yesterday I was at my storage unit just to look for a few items and I also ended up pulling out nearly 2 cubic feet of books to be donated. Woohoo!

This is my first daily tally post.

Items gone out of my house today: 22

Including pedicure stuff, a scarf, some gloves, 3 pairs of shoes, and some odds and ends donated. Plus holey/worn socks and undies into the trash.

My goal for this year (11 months left) is 1000 items gone.

Right now I am at 22/1000.

Ok, I am going to list everything that goes out of my house - because we do not have trash pick up and everything must be removed by vehicle, composted, or burned.

Today:
Two paper grocery bags of recycling
One plastic grocery bag of trash.

Here is our Daily Tally thread.

Anyone can post here and can share what they are decluttering. You can use whatever unit works for you:

cubic feet cleared
pounds of stuff gone
number of items donated
number of bags or boxes gone
whatever works!

It's a way to see and report the progress we are making on clearing out space in our homes. You can set a goal for each day, week, or month or you can just share as you wish.

Let's celebrate the progress we are making!
