I was in the same boat and this is what I did.
I cleared out all the clutter from the living room dining room area, kitchen, bathroom and all corners inside the house, except his bedroom.
He can clutter his bedroom, carport & garage, most of the outside property.
I defend all the areas I have cleared & cleaned because I live here too and it's not fair he can clutter up everything.
A good book for you to read is "digging Out".
We are allowed to do whatever it takes to keep our homes safe healthy places for us to live.
