That's really great that you are motivated to reduce the amount of stuff in your home.
With fewer things it is easier to clean and vacuum places more often and all bugs hate that.

Hi, doing good. Although these bed bugs were a nightmare, they were in a way a blessing. I had to move alot of things out into the garage and it has made me rethink about bringing it back in. I also am more motivated to get rid of my other stuff. I don't want to offer areas for bugs to hide in ever again. More time at home, thanks to COVID is helping to, making strides but it is a slow process.

Yes, I still have my cat. He isn't liking the cooler temperatures and is under the covers on the bed. Think he would be happier if I left the house more. I interrupt his sleep time to much now.

In conclusion, it turns out I had bed bugs. The nightmare finally ended on a hot summer day, when I closed off the bedroom and turned on two space heaters and got a steam cleaner. I was in the bedroom steaming the bed thoroughly. Thought this ended two years ago, I believe I had the room closed off and steaming for about four hours. This concluded my problem. I hope it can help someone else.

Sounds like you are doing a pretty good job trying to get this under control.
I am hoping that with what you are doing and the changing seasons will help to eradicate these pasts.
Once the cold weather comes they will be dormant and not rapidly reproducing to give you a good chance of killing off the remainders.

Thank you for everyone's responses. It has been a hellish two weeks. Treating my case as bed bugs, they are too small to identify even under a magnify glass. Most of my bedroom/living room has been cleared and now in the garage or cars. The cars got to 130 degree in the sun, but not confident that took care of them, as the blankets did have cool spots in the center. Invested in a steamer and since than three nights now no bites and none on the cat too. My cat had scabs on the bottom of his ear. This was just heartbreaking to me, as the more I covered up and they avoided me they went to him. I still haven't found where they are, but seen overall about six stragglers.

I will not get over confident again either. I brought in my two cushions from the couch, pillow and a notebook from the garage and once inside I seen a bug on the notebook. Tomorrow I will sort through the garage mess and determine my absolute essentials for the winter and the rest, the cold WI winters can deal with. As for the house I will just keep on steaming/vacuuming.

I'm pretty emotionally drained and other than my neighbors /store haven't been out much. Everything I did made matters worse, sealing the baseboard was a mess, one board had to be removed and than I put a hole in the wall. This is when I produced my first and only tears.

Today marks a turn around going to see family/friends (God help me if anyone makes a bug joke) and try to eat/drink better and get a somewhat order to the house. On the plus side got rid of some junk, since it is now closer to the garbage than the house now. 🙂

Sharon, wow, you got that happening quickly! That is fantastic! I hope it works for whatever it is?! Just be careful about breathing it in. Im figuring you know to vacuum it up later, and i think with certain bugs, theres an egg or larva stage where they arent killed by it, so repeating that process in like 2 weeks is needed.

Anonymoniker - thanks, Diatomaceouus Earth is just what I bought. I put a layer over my bed and on the carpet and under the door. I closed off the room and won't enter it for 3 days. Note: didn't move my mini hoard, on the side of the bed, a box, backpack, luggage and books. Bedding is bagged and in the garage for the next 2 weeks.

Still don't know for certain what I am dealing with but narrowed it down. It seems all this started when a friends dog scratched my forearm. The scratch got little bumps around it and this seems to be a sign of scabies. My friend is also a nurse and she doesn't think this is the case, as the dog doesn't have scabies. We have talked about bed bugs, lice and fleas, but so far I have not seen anything. Primarily they seem to be in the bedroom, though some have found my new place in the living room.

Thinking of calling the hospital to see if I should go to my regular Dr appt on Wed or come to the ER, as to not cause possible transfer to others.

I have less bites, but now have a rash because I put Borax on in the shower. It looks bad but doesn't bother me.

Well it is my least favorite part of the day, dusk and my little friends are out for a snack. I'm leaving to see a band but I will still feel them biting me (a pin prick), since they go shopping and seen last nights band too, AGH!!

Hi, Sharon! Im so sorry you are going through this? You might want to try diatomacious earth, which is cheap, non-toxic, and works better than anything ive tried for tiny bugs(which i deal with a lot where i live).
