ALMOST OVER….

Almost over….

I haven't been on in a while. Can't remember my screen name. 96 year old dad died, brothers are having the house demolished. It needs to be, but it still hurts. My dad's dad built the house.
We took what we could. Broke my heart to leave the antique claw-footed tub behind, but no one wanted to haul it.
Had to purge tons of stuff. Tried to do it in a green way, but had to let that go because of timing. Donated what I could.
Still broke my heart not to recycle/donate/sell some of it.
New house now. Purging a box a day. Hopefully, done with clutter by summer.

Hi Sue 🙂
What a hard time you've been having. (((hugs)))
It is always so very sad when a home you have known all your life no longer exists.
Hold those memories in your heart and remember them with happy nostalgia.

Yes, it really is difficult, next to impossible to empty a whole house without adding to the landfills.
Plus it takes way too long trying to be "green" with everything.
Please be kind and understanding with yourself for not finding "the perfect" place for everything you had to remove.

Purging a box a day sounds like a very reasonable and do-able plan.

Good luck and best wishes. 😀
