Ok I have never really thought I was a hoarder just lazy. But now my place is so messy I'm overwhelmed. My apartments want to remodel and need to come in and measure for new sinks and counter tops but my place is really messy. I don't know where to start. Any advice? I'm laying here awake saying I'll do it in the morning but I can't fall asleep I'm so freaking out about it.

Sorry you are stuck and overwhelmed Messyme. When we make those long To-Do lists it seems like we haven't done anything and there is still so much left to do. Good luck

Its not physical or mental I don't think. I have some stuff bagged up but I still have a lot to do I look at it and just feel defeated before I really get started. I need to do the kitchen that's the worst. I try making a list so I can check things off as I go and that way I don't get distracted but the list gets really long. I really just feel like throwing everything away but that is a lot of work too. I just keep getting stuck. I'm going to bring home some boxes after work and hopefully I will go into panic mode and get it done.

Hi Messyme 🙂 A great way to get dishes under control is to only have a few of each. Then you will have to wash them regularly. BIG WTG! on the stuff you bagged already! 😀 But you are going to have to resign yourself to making those trips to the dumpster unless you can find a kid who will do this for a little cash. Keep up the great job of bagging! 😀

Hi thanks. I hate dishes so I've really let them build up to the point where I think I should just throw everything awsy . And I have way to many clothes and instead of putting them away I end up leaving them on the floor so mountain of clothes around. Then I try and go through them to get rid of stuff but ends up being a bigger mess and I give up. My garbage is also kinda far away so I get really lazy about taking it down. I'm not one of the people that doesn't want to throw anything away I do throw it away I just hate taking it down. I just have too much stuff. I usually move every year but have stayed in my current place for 4 years so I've accumulated stuff I don't really need. But again never make the time to get rid of things. My mom said she'd help me sometime but she is really judgemental so I never hear then end of things. She doesn't understand why I just don't do things right away. I don't really understand why I don't just do things right away . I couldn't sleep last night so got up and bagged up about 10 bags of crap just need to take it down but still need to do the kitchen and bathrooms.

Hi Messyme 🙂 The quickest way to get started decluttering is to grab a trash bag and start filling it.
