This is a tough situation for you, and for the humans and cats involved. Would they be willing to relinquish the cats if suitable placement could be found for them? Or are they the type of hoarders who think only they can provide the best for the cats?
You could try outreach to the ASPCA. You didn't mention in which state the home is located, and perhaps that might help others steer you to other help.
If in the New York area you could try the North Shore Animal League. If in the Southwest, you could try Best Friends in Utah.
Even if they don't want to change their hoarding ways, the animals deserve much better. Even if they do not know it, it is animal abuse to keep the animals there, in filth, unsprayed, etc.
If all else fails you might need to report them to local housing authorities or Adult Protective Services. If children reside there, it should be reported. Good luck.
