My parents have lived in the same home for almost 40 years. When I was younger I was embarrassed to have friends over, but atleast my sister and I were there to give it a livable appearance. Now that we are out of the home, it's not as livable. The space we used to live in is now packed full to the ceiling with stuff. It's an overwhelming thought that all that stuff is there.
In September, my mom broke her hip and had to live with my sister, it would have been the perfect time to clean the home out, but we didn't as we all have our own homes, lives and finding time isn't there, but we did clean out their bathroom and a closet so the home could get remodeled for my mom to go back there.
In December, she broke her other hip. My father is sad and depressed because the woman that took care of him, now needs taking care of and cleaning is NOT what my father wants to do because he feels like 'what's the use'
We never do anything at my parent's home as a family during the winter, and even when you are at their home, you come away with a distinct odor that makes visiting unappealing.
Are there any affordable places in Southeastern WI that can help us help our parents so they can go back to enjoying a home and being comfortable in something clean and organized. Peace in the home brings peace in your life.. I want that for them.
