My mother lives in Baltimore and her apt was flooded during the hurricane since the complex lost power and the sump pumps were not working. When the maintenance staff came to try and treat the carpet, they left and reported her to the mgmt due to the cleanliness and smell of her apt. Long story short, they would only remove the carpet from around her furniture. That was a week ago. Today I spent 6 hrs today moving funiture and ripping out the remaining carpet which was still dripping wet. I took 20 bags of garbage and clothes from the apartment but that didn't make a dent in the mess remaining. I am a recent cancer survivor and just cannot give my mom the help she needs. she is messy beyond belief, clinically depressed and a hoarder. What can I do to get her some help. She knows she has a problem but is so overwhelmed and doesn't know how or where to start.
