Our insurance would not have paid out to fix any damage that is hoarding related.
They also cancelled our police when they discovered he had a massive hoard.

Does anyone know if homesowners insurance will cover the cost of repairs to the home created by hoarding? I'm not speaking of the actual clean up. What happens if floors are weakened due to the weight of books and papers or carpets need to be replaced? What about a water leak or rotten window frames? I am administering the estate of my deceased cousin. He passed away in his home and, apparently, was a hoarder. I have not yet seen the house. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
