What about "immaterial" or e-hoarding?

I do tend to save more email than most people would. My "inbox" is usually pretty big. Since I can use the "search" feature on email to find what I want, I don't worry too much about having too much email saved.

On the other hand, though, I usually don't give out my email address as often as most people do.

This brings up the idea of "creating email junk." One reason I don't like to give out my email address to very many friends is because I don't like it when a friend starts forwarding me all kinds of "cute" email or starts sending me political email or things like that. I don't like to open email or to click on links if it could be "questionable." There is too much chance of my getting a computer virus or other type of computer problem if I open questionable email.

If a friend asks me for my email address, I usually first explain to them that I normally don't open forwarded emails, and I tell them that I wish them to use my email only to send me personal notes. Usually, my friends will agree to that, and then (and only then) will I give them my email address.

In other words, my attitude is, "I won't junk up your email inbox. Please don't junk up mine!"

Just my thoughts.

For example, I have almost 18850 unread messages in one email account, mainly subscriptions to interesting web pages, and I hope someday to have time for read them... Unrealistic?
