I am grateful this area gives me a reason to consider what I am grateful for each day.
Today it was sunny and I felt happy
Today I got to stay home all day and was free of shopping temptations.

Today I'm grateful ~

that due to the nature of living in this house we always have a roll of paper towels within quick reach ~ like for spit coke on keyboards :)

that my driveway got shoveled out last night

that Jack doesn't mind the little dogs cuddling up with him

Thankful to be cancer free.

Thankful to be boiling the last of the sprouting Jan 28 potatoes.

Thankful for a coarse snow that shoveled easily.
(Not as easily as when Mrs Dave does it, but more easily than the snow she has shoveled!)

for March snows that are pretty knowing they don't stick around long

for heat and electricity

I was perhaps unduly influenced by two things there:

I have a little book, which I have so far continued to keep as I clean out the bookshelf,
A Short Guide to a Happy Life, by Anna Quindlen.

Because of my "Scooter the Cat" mentality, I've never read the whole thing but I read a page or two now and again. Last night I took it off the shelf and on page 45 I read:

" And think of life as a terminal illness, because, if you do, you will live it with joy and passion, as it ought to be lived."

The "terminal illness" thing was hanging around in my mind this morning as I was observing the varied behaviors of snowflakes.

Driving down to the ground like a broken plane trailing flame and smoke. Dancing around in whorling eddies. Kamikaze snowflakes charging the window pane like blind birds. I told Mrs Dave I couldn't go out because I was afraid of the kamikaze snowflakes.

Some odd merger of all that is where the sentence came from. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thankful to be cancer free.

Susan L.
It has been long enough that I forget to remember this, but not just every birthday.

Every day is something to be grateful for and thankful within.

Maybe I should be posting that each day to redevelop a viewpoint.

Feeling grateful today for:

1. A quiet day. After raising three children I need some peace and quiet.

2. My younger sister's 53rd birthday today. She had cancer a few years ago and nearly didn't make it. So every birthday is a cause for celebration.

3. Plenty of books to read, which is my definition of wealth

Have a good day, remember you get partial credit for everything you sort and toss or donate! You don't have to finish everything . . . just keep going . . .

Today I am grateful for:

1) A good nights sleep finally
2) My wife is healing from her severe cold.
3) Going to the mountains tomorrow to look for a new home. We are trying to save some money up, so looking for cheaper living! We have spent most of our savings on franchising our business and want to build it back up so we are not cutting everything so tight each month :)
