Laura and I put in several hours of work today.

We loaded books in the back of the truck and empty boxes in the back seat. I KNEW my box hoard would come in handy one day. Big smile.

We took 4 boxes from Costco that their brand of Kleenex comes in and 4 boxes from Petsmart that x-large potty pads come in.

Got to the storage unit and took many flatbed carts of books in. Then the fun part. That's a true statement, no sarcasm.

Laura loves to organize and I love to arrange. She got books sorted by type and author and I got them packed by size. We got 6 1/2 boxes snugly fit and stacked.

I'm trying not to get the itchy feeling that comes with something not being perfect. Because I know we have many more books that should go with some of the ones already packed.

We agreed we could only take back 3 books each. My 3 are for the grandkids that I will leave at their house for bedtime reads. We knew we couldn't lift packed boxes which is why we had to do many small loads. For someone else it may have taken 30 minutes. For us it was several hours. But we felt so good and proud of ourselves and taking our time and being careful of our backs was not stressful at all. :)

Liquids and food are not allowed in the storage areas so afterwards we went to the office and had cups of ice cold water. So good! Then we treated ourselves by splitting a small coke and medium fries at Burger King.

8 more white bags, 2 more black.

I also worked out the shortest route to the storage unit.

It's very, very clear that my main hoard is clothes.

Got out 5 more black bags, 19 white bags. Some were cushions from beach furniture. And 3 large boxes of legal papers.

Added 5 more black trash bags.

Laura went with her dad to a Raven's game, everybody else is busy with fun Sunday stuff. I'm only able to move bags about 10 feet at a time and need a break.

It's good seeing one type of thing all together (like clothes) and see how crazy much of it there is.

And those bags don't even scratch the surface.

WTF

Just trying to keep the focus simple and not overthink it. So glad I have you guys to absorb spilling my racing thoughts.

What a great idea Tillie, to fill the buckets with donations!

I don't want to recycle them in a trash place because the buckets are so useful as is. And the snap lids are just as solid.

I have 13 white trash bags of clothes and two black trash bags ready to load in truck. I'm being careful of my back and will probably wait on the guys for the books.

YEA! Dianne :D

I also pour other bags/boxes of litter into mine.
They are such sturdy buckets, just the right size for so many different uses.
I bet someone, who doesn't have a cat, would pay a dollar for one of these buckets at a thrift shop.
Maybe that's what I should do....
Fill them up with donations and deliver the stuff to the shop in the extra buckets.

Tillie I have about a dozen of those. They are so sturdy. I pour the litter from regular bags in there and stack them.

But you're right I don't need so many either. I'll work on getting rid of some this week.

Since I last posted I have tossed another
6 bags of trash
Had 3 of those nice big plastic buckets with lids that "tidy Cats" litter comes in. Unfortunately that is usually the best priced litter & I always have a coupon for it too. Would be easier if it just came in a bag or cardboard box so I would not have so many nice plastic buckets to dispose of.
No recycle places within 75 miles of here to recycle them at.
Carried them over to a neighbor's house this morning and they accepted them. YEA! :D
They are great for all sorts of things but I already have more than I can use.

Previous total = 84
Todays total = 9
New total =93

The refrigerator was an old, somewhat functional but partly broken and filthy one that I had put outside when I got a new refrigerator in. Sears wouldn't take it (took my other appliances) because it was dirty and they do reconditioning. Anyway, it still brings me pleasure to look out my back door and see tree leaves instead of that ugly thing.

In this challenge we all post a daily tally of what has left our homes.
We can count by bags or boxes or
we can count by individual items.
Guestimates as to amounts in a bag or box count too.
I would also like to suggest listing some emotional baggage we should toss.
