In the chat sessions we have discussed the heat & how important it is to stay cool & hydrated. I had seen a towel advertised at Lowe's that claims to cool to 30 degrees below average body temperature. The Ad describes the towel as ideal to be used for people who work outside & for athletes & features Serena Williams.
I bought one to try it out. The towel I bought is made by Mission and called an "Endura Cool, Instant Cooling Towel". You activate it by 1. soaking it in water 2. wring out extra water 3. hold towel at each end , pull, and give it a good SNAP. As long as the towel is Wet you can Snap it again & it will become cooler again.
The SNAP is what activates the cooling according to the ad shown on TV. At first I did not see much difference between this and other wet towels. However once I mastered the SNAP I could feel the towel got cooler. Reviews on this towel are mixed but overall I liked it. Plus, it feels good to stand up straight & give it a good SNAP.
The towel I purchased is 13" X 37", about the size of many winter neck scarfs. It feels like a polished cotton fabric, lighter weight than the terrycloth dish towels I usually have around my neck. The size is nice because I could drape the cool wet towel over my shoulders like a shawl or place it over my head. It also came in bandana size.
Just make sure you pull it tight & hear a SNAP. And like I said it feels good to stand up straight hold the towel at shoulder level, pull it tight , & hear a SNAP. I heard recently on the Katie Couric show that when you are scared of something assume a "Wonder Woman" stance. Stand up straight with your hands on your hips which forces you to pull your shoulders back. So next time you attack your clutter, assume your Wonder Woman stance & go at it.
