Flylady has a friend Eric Dodge with music that is right up our alley. She has things that has helped me but as someone has already said" It works if you work it "

I heard this song on the shuffle on my iPod just as I was getting out the shower. The words really hit home with me. I am really trying to embrace the NOW & not beat myself up for letting things get bad and what I have not done in the past. I am working on my "NOW" as I "Breath In, Breath Out, & Move On."
"Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On"
I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man Floating down canal It doesn't use numbers or moving hands It always just says now Now you may be thinking that I was had But this watch is never wrong And If I have trouble the warranty said Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
And it rained, It was nothing really new And it blew, we've seen all that before And it poured, the Earth began to strain Pontchartrain leaking through the door, tides at war
If a hurricane doesn't leave you dead It will make you strong Don't try to explain it just nod your head Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
[Guitar Solo]
And it rained, It was nothing really new And it blew, seen all that before And it poured, the Earth began to strain Pontchartrain buried the 9th Ward to the 2nd floor
According to my watch the time is now Past is dead and gone Don't try to shake it just nod your head Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
Don't try to shake it just bow your head Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On

I listen to every genre of music; whether it's rock or hip-hop or R&B or pop or country or reggae. I listen to it all. I listen to everything from Metallica to Jay-Z to Rascal Flatts to Britney Spears to Michael Jackson to Johnny Cash to The Rolling Stones to The Beatles to Marvin Gaye to Bob Marley and a lot more. So yeah, no genre is off limits for me. :)

I tend to listen to slow sad songs hahaha but in a way it reflects the difficulty I associate with throwing things out and I can have a good cry, also cathartic
Thanks diane, We are all very excited about our trip too. Hopefully we won't get into too much trouble while we're in Los Angeles. LOL. ;)

In a week the guys and I will be going to Los Angeles to do a major clean-up. And this will be our theme song while we are in Los Angeles. The song is called "The City Is Ours" by Big Time Rush. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k-BxdNKtzE
Here are the lyrics to "The City Is Ours":
The city is ours! The city is ours!
Rolling past graffiti walls Billboards lighting up the block Everyone of us on a mission
Got a whole crew by my side Cars beep beep when they pass us by Be ready to get down to business
We pull up, open the door All the people scream, "There they are!" It's packed from wall to wall And everybody is calling
Here we come, it's almost time Feel the rush now, hit the lights We're gonna get it all started
Because the night is young The line is out the door Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours
Live it up until the morning comes Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours The city is ours!
My, my look how we roll Was it only a month ago? Everybody said we were dreaming
Now we're here, like, yeah, we told ya! Still far, but we're that much closer And there ain't no way that we're leavin'
We gotta believe, it's destiny calling So night after night we'll rock the whole place out As hard as it seems, I know if you want it Then it's gonna happen somehow
Because the night is young The line is out the door Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours
Live it up until the morning comes Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours
Because the night is young The line is out the door Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours
Live it up until the morning comes Today was crazy but tonight the city is ours The city is ours, the city is ours! The city is ours, the city is ours! The city is ours!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!!! :)
This song is dedicated to everyone who struggles with hoarding...because baby YOU'RE A FIREWORK! :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3P9fyJEu6E
"FIREWORK" by Katy Perry
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag Drifting through the wind Wanting to start again? Do you ever feel so paper thin Like a house of cards One blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep? 6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing Do you know that there's still a chance for you? Because there's a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine Just own the night like the 4th of July
Because baby you're a firework Come on, show 'em what you're worth Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh" As you shoot across the sky
Baby, you're a firework Come on, let your colors burst Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh" You're gonna leave 'em all in "awe, awe, awe"
You don't have to feel like a wasted space You're original, cannot be replaced If you only knew what the future holds After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow And when it's time, you'll know
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine Just own the night like the 4th of July
Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon It's always been inside of you, you, you And now it's time to let it through
Because baby you're a firework Come on, show 'em what you're worth Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh" As you shoot across the sky
Baby, you're a firework Come on, let your colors burst Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh" You're gonna leave 'em all in "awe, awe, awe"
Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon Boom, boom, boom Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

Ok, so here is the song that I tried to post earlier today, in the wee hours of the morning. :)
The song is called "March Out of the Darkness" and it is by the band "Papa Roach". :)
Here are the lyrics:
It feels like the end of the world It seems like nobody cares Is it real, am I going insane? Am I ever gonna change my ways?
Isolated, separated Sick of the mess I created The pressure keeps rising When the truth is what I'm fighting
We march out of the darkness We ravel in the flames The mission is accomplished I'm ready for the change
And the only thing that will set us free Is living through the pain And the only thing that I cannot take Will never be the same
It feels like I'm still in a cage And I scream til I'm blue in the face Is it real or is it a phase? I think the time has come to change my ways
I'm ready, I'm willing To take what I've been given The pressure keeps rising Because the truth is what I'm fighting
We march out of the darkness We ravel in the flames The mission is accomplished I'm ready for the change
And the only thing that will set us free Is living through the pain And the only thing that I cannot take Will never be the same
And it's okay, it's alright Just let go, you'll be fine It's okay, it's alright Just let go, you'll be fine
It's okay, it's alright Just let go, you'll be fine It's okay, it's alright Just let go, you'll be fine

I think a good song to listen to while cleaning a hoard is, "Crying Out" by the band "Shinedown". :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFxmONcRQTo
I know if I ever get my own tv show about helping hoarders, then I want the song "Crying Out" to be the theme song for my tv show. :)
Here are the lyrics to "Crying Out":
Don't use a weakness, don't change the subject Don't ask the questions if you fear the answer You look distorted, lets make you clearer Lets flip the switch and use the smoke and mirrors
Reinvent yourself today Reinvent your world today
Cryin' out for the last time Clear a space for the warning signs Cryin' out for the last time And there's no turning back Now that you've opened up to your mind
What guides your vision? What holds the balance? Don't think that I can't see you shake and tremble Well, I know you're nervous, this world is scary You have to let go all the madness you carry
Reinvent yourself today Reinvent your world today
Cryin' out for the last time Clear a space for the warning signs Cryin' out for the last time And there's no turning back Now that you've opened up to your mind
There is no turning back now Everything you've ever wanted Everything in this moment There is no turning back now
Cryin' out for the last time Clear a space for the warning signs Cryin' out for the last time And there's no turning back Now that you've opened up to your mind
Cryin' out, crying for the last time Cryin' out, crying for the last time

My favorite "Do Over" song is "Rewrite by Paul Simon. It's noot a well known song but trust me, this is a song you want stuck in your head.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yom8vZ7lEnQ
Songwriters: SIMON, PAUL
I've been working on my rewrite, that's right I'm gonna change the ending Gonna throw away my title And toss it in the trash Every minute after midnight All the time I'm spending It's just for working on my rewrite Gonna turn it into cash
I've been working at the carwash I consider it my day job Cause it's really not a pay job But that's where I am Everybody says the old guy working at the carwash Hasn't got a brain cell left since Vietnam
But I say help me, help me, help me, help me Thank you! I'd no idea That you were there When I said help me, help me, help me, help me Thank you, for listening to my prayer
I'm working on my rewrite, that's right I'm gonna change the ending Gonna throw away my title And toss it in the trash Every minute after midnight All the time I'm spending Is just for working on my rewrite, that's right I'm gonna turn it into cash
I'll eliminate the pages Where the father has a breakdown And he has to leave the family But he really meant no harm Gonna substitute a car chase And a race across the rooftops When the father saves the children And he holds them in his arms
And I say help me, help me, help me, help me Thank you! I'd no idea That you were there When I said, help me, help me, help me, help me Thank you, for listening to my prayer

In the Chat Support Group Sunday Night I suggested we come up with some fun theme songs to inspire us when we are tossing things out. Here are some suggestions-
"Another One Bites the Dust" "I Get By With a Little Help from my Friends"
Tillie's Theme "If I had a Hammer" Dedicated to Tillie "Cool, Clear Water"
and Karl came up with this cleaver version of I get by with a little help from my friends....
What would you think if the clutter's so bad That you can't catch a glimpse of the floor? I could clean up if you'll lend me a hand; I can't live with this trash any more.
I get by with a little help from my friends. It's a sty without help from my friends. Time will fly with some help from my friends.
So join in & add some tunes & sing along as you toss out your stuff.
and for what it's worth, Raggae music always makes me smile if I'm having a down day.
