still working on my bedroom. More things gone.

donated:
new square nail file
another sunglasses
new pack of photo paper

trash:
6 partially used, but still good, nail polish, because I have so many and almost never paint my nails. So I tossed my least favorite colors until all my polish could fit in one small plastic bin.

You are making good progress Lila. I know this is a really hard time, and I am proud of you for channeling your feelings in a positive direction. I know it would be easy to stay in bed or make unhealthy eating choices.

Staying active and working toward your goals will help at least a little with your mood.

Forgot to count in my paper sorter. Also the last of the books I ordered came yesterday.

+20

Donated a pot to a fund raiser. 1st of what I hope will be 200 pieces of pottery out of my studio this year (I'm not counting how many I make - I'm just working on improving the outflow - sales, donations, gifts, and having the sense to just smash the ones that aren't that good.

That's what I think Lila. Sometimes I ask myself "do I really want this? I will have to tell my tribe."

You are doing well!

Even keeping a tally is a win, SubC! It means you don't have your head in the sand.

Donated: fruit mill that someone gave me that I don't like (they only paid $2 for it so no big deal)

Lila, I am laughing because you are cheering for me for adding less that two items a week.

The goal is supposed to be net out!

I don't really have any energy to work on clearing out at the moment. But I am being mindful about what comes in.

Keep it up, SubC!

I cannot believe I have not done better at this! I have been overwhelmed with other things. But I put one thing in the donate box yesterday: a little metal shot glass/measuring cup.

Also completed my winter reading challenge card and picked up my library mug.

And claiming the two brushes from the teacher workshop.

I've been doing some online shopping.

I ordered six replacement silicone lids for my Pyrex dishes, because Dh doesn't like the stretchy ones and the plastic ones break. I think when I put the broken plastic ones in the recycling, I didn't count them out, but I'm count8ng the new ones in anyway. I'll count out if I f8nd an6 more broken ones.

I also ordered a new candyland game because Bean and I have been playing one with a crushed box and a random collection of assorted cards of different vintages but, I'm not getting rid of the old board because it is so much prettier.

So plus 7 things,

Sweater I didn't order in (the person sent the wrong thing but just refunded me. The sweater I got is very snug and has been mended in several places, but it is also very soft. I think I'm going to keep it as an under layer for barn work.

Returned the Christmas gift from my mil - article of men's clothing in a size too big for me and a color I don't like. When I opened it she said "I know that's not your color, but they were out of the maroon ones. Maybe you can exchange it." Had to take a gift card even with the gift receipt because it was on clearance when she bought it.

Good job SubC!

I tossed my first item for the year today... a letter I have been keeping on my nightstand for MONTHS, that I intended to keep keeping, but it was so irritating I finally ripped it up and threw it out!

Lol! That is one of the ways the tally helps me!

Also why it is good to get the boxes out asap!

I've been cleaning out trash, recycling, and extra food - so nothing to count out, but today Bean gave me a picture dsil took at Christmas and dd1 framed of all three of my grandsons on my couch with my son and Dh.

So I'm net zero. Which is ok right now.

Nice start, SubC.

I have nothing out yet, but a small victory. I had the donation boxes in my room and on top were two brand new items and I kept looking at them thinking, omg, why did I put those in there?? I could really use them for xyz. But I already counted them in the tally for 2024. So, I searched around and found 2 other items to donate and swapped them out of the box. That is a lot better than how I used to just take things out and keep them. Same amount gone for 2024.

Good morning.

I have a couple of ideas about how I want to use this thread this year, but I think I'll let them sort of float around for January and start one in February or at the end of the month.

I do know I want to keep a running tally of net out for the year, so with that in mind - I finished a book yesterday and tossed it in my out box. - the out box is a new invention where I put things on their way out, and then I can take them various places later - I'm a little worried that I might remove something from the out box, but if I do, I will just count it back as an "in" this way I can take things to the places or people I choose when I go there or at the appropriate time (for example, Christmas items should go to the thrift store at the end of October.)

Book.
