After a week long dry spell (I'm an aide and school started up this week. So tired!) I got an email from my town saying they were doing their last electronics recycling event this Saturday. I had a pretty big pile started, but I was starting to feel hopeless about finding a place that would take it all. There are so many rules about electronics disposal nowadays, and even the places listed online, that said they'd take stuff, wouldn't take most of what I had.I even considered unethically dumping the stuff. :( So, I was ridiculously thrilled to spend the wee hours of Saturday morning, in the rain, and loading my car up with ancient small appliances, a vacuum, 4 speakers, cords, phones, Christmas lights, wires, THREE dehumidifiers, lamps, and batteries galore. The car was packed! (My parents weren't hoarders. Why'd they keep all this broken crap?????) By 8:15 it was all gone, and now I can work on my next project... hazardous waste (old paints, paint thinners, etc. Dad was a carpenter). I can't believe I'm giddy about this!
