I have the back seat of the car filled with donations to drop off this week at the animal shelter and the charity thrift shop. :D

Since I don't have an excess of food, I will try to get the hoarder in my life to look and see if he has anything that's still within the "best by" date that he would be willing to let go to the food pantry.

Here is a challenge...

The challenge will run till the end of the month.

Everybody try filling a bag with charitable donations and getting it delivered to the thrift shop.

Another challenge...
Look around your kitchen and see if you have any nonperishable foods you can donate to your local food bank.

Another challenge...
Look around and see if you have any blankets, towels, sheets, rugs and such that you are willing to donate to your local animal shelter.
This time of year they need lots of this kind of thing to keep the poor little waifs warm & dry.

Darci, I'm in! Thank you! I'm modifying it a little bit--to fit my circumstance--I have a big shopping bag of papers that needs to be sorted and filed. My tax stuff is in there! Thanks. Let me know your progress!

Good thread, Tillie!

So here is one since end of year (and tax prep is nearing). The challenge is to get all your receipts and records scattered all over the house into one place. To keep the project from being too daunting, the goal is just to gather them... no sorting, etc.

Anybody have any suggestions what the next week's group challenge should be?
Or we could all post one of our own personal projects we need to be accountable to accomplish.
We don't all have to do the same thing.
Or, somebody post an idea and we all try to do that too since we all probably need to any way. :D

Oh, I like the weekly challenge thing. My better half actually found a nine volt WI FI battery for smoke detectors that lasts five years AND sends an alert if the battery goes low and/or smoke is detected. AWESOME for my out of state property that I am trying to rent out. The batteries are a lil pricey but so worth saving a life!!

Thank you for the reminder! We usually do this on the day time changes, but we forgot. I also forgot to pay our property taxes! -- but took care of that yesterday.

This week I would like to challenge everybody to
inspect their smoke detectors.
Put in fresh batteries.
If you don't have any smoke detectors or not enough for your home
lets work on fixing that.

Even uncluttered homes need them and especially homes where there is an overabundance of possessions.
Even if it is just one room or garage full
that increases the odds of having a fierce, out of control fire
and a smoke detector will give us a few more precious seconds to escape.

:D
