Wow, thanks you two. I lifts my spirits to know someone is thinking of me.
September-November I was continuously in a hospital or nursing home in Arkansas, with no internet access. The nursing home was a nightmare and I finally escaped, refusing to return. After another hospital visit, I was signed out as okay to travel and another nursing home found where I could "rest" until brother came to get me.
John got me and took me to his home (about a 12 hour drive), but I don't remember much of anything. He said it took him and two other men putting me into a chair and carrying me into bed. Blank on this memory. After about 6 days of continuous sleeping, very little eating, and who knows what happened with meds, an ambulance was called.
A couple weeks in the hospital, then I went to a Transitional Care Unit in Hastings, MN. This place also has access to a small (e.g., limited) hospital plus permanent residences for folks who need some assistance. I was there a short time, then sent to the little hospital as an emergency, but they transferred me back to the original MN hospital where I stayed several weeks. (Apparently my blood oxygen was perilously low and the TCU found me non-responsive and a strange color, which prompted the emergency.)
Mostly this longer hospital stay was good except for a run-in with a physical therapist, which I won't explain now.
I stayed at the TCU for several weeks and worked with their excellent physical and occupational therapists, and finally got approval to come to brother's home.
Here a couple weeks then back to hospital. Now I am home again and going to numerous doctors and having OT, PT and home health nurses come visit.
So it is a looooooong road. Glad to know someone cares.
