Tatoulia, I hope your mom gets her skirt.
Way to go on the cabinets!

My place mats stay out all the time.

Tillie, I hope you won't lose any of your trees at least!

when the wood comes, I will have to stain it. I will do it on saw horses in the big studio barn. I can open the door. As long as it stays in the mid 50s and 60s it will be fine. We have been working on this addition so long!

We're having pizza for dinner tonight. When I was growing up, that meant mom called the order in, half an hour later somebody picked the pizza up, and 15 minutes after that, we ate it out of the box.

Here it meant at 4:15 I made pizza dough and let it start rising. Then I skimmed some milk, set the cream aside for ice cream, and made mozerrella cheese. Used the whey to make ricotta, picked some veggies from the garden, and a few minutes ago (an hour and 40 minutes after I started) I took the pizza out to cool a bit so we don't burn ourselves. It is so worth the extra hour!

I cleaned a stall today (used up some cardboard), spent some time with the bunny, trimmed one pot, did dishes, and washed a lad of laundry.

Laundry isn't dry yet, and still a big mess to clean up in the kitchen.

I find it a fun pastime to just look at patterns and fabric even though I don't ever actually make anything.
Just the thinking about it is good enough.

WAY TO GO! for dancing and decluttering! :D

WAY TO GO! Miss Kitty keeping those birds busy! ;D

Tillie, mom did not find a pattern she liked. But it was good bonding time for us! I am not convinced she has what it takes to make a skirt but I'm not going to be negative in front of her.

I fully support the idea on the garden. You need to enjoy it and not be stressed! Music is on and I'm doing the room decluttering right now. It feels good. Laundry is hung and I'll fold the other load I did. Kitty is in window and doing a great job keeping the birds on their toes!

Love you all so much.

Hello Tatoulia :)

I was able to decipher it. ;)
Thank you for being here for me. ((((HUGS))))

WAY TO GO!!! for all that cabinet progress!!! :D

So happy you have removed the donations from the home, soon to be donated.

So wonderful that you notice those little tidying up tasks.
Left unnoticed, they really tend to pile up before we realize.

So nice you had quality time with Mom today.
So, will there be a new skirt made?

At this point in my life I need to make my life easier.
Some days I physically just can't do what needs to be done other than the usual daily cat chores.
I still want and need my little garden oasis to help keep my spirits happy.
But I can still have it if I make it a lot more simple, fewer kinds of plants and in a more concentrated area.
As it is now all I have been able to manage this Summer is to keep it watered.
It looks dreadful and it stresses me out even thinking of maintaining it as it is laid out now.

Plus I feel it is disrespectful since it is also my pet cemetery.

Hello Subclinical :)

Yes, I do understand how all those demands on your limited time is so very overwhelming when you look at it all written down. (((HUG)))
I'm glad you are evaluating your priorities today.

I remember when Martha Stewart was just getting started.
All her projects were making gifts and décor out of trash.
She used way too much gold spray paint in my personal opinion but some of her projects were cute.

Can we please put staining and finishing the new addition wood on the way back burner for now?
In my opinion you can still entertain guests and celebrate the holidays with the wood still unfinished.
Thinking the Spring would be a better time because you want the whole house open for fresh air as you stain it.

I guess right now the number one priorities would be the farm & animals and school.
Then finding and making your recycled gifts along with making things for the show and sale.

The best gifts I ever made were windchimes made of seashells and drift wood that I gathered from the beach with my young son.
My entire family said they did not want that cheap tourist trap crap and chucked them back at my son.
Broke his heart. :(

And WAY TO GO! for cleaning up as you go!
At least that way you won't fall behind and lose the ground you have gained. (((HUG)))

Tillie you fo such hard work trying to late down even more. I admire you yet I feel sad. I'm on your side from her to eternity. I do hope your cooler weather is on the way. It's beautiful here and I have my back windows open and my ceiling fan on.

SubC you have such a rich life. I simply refuse to believe that school is about to start! Yes a chart for the rest of the year!

Ok, badger report: I'll go start on second layer right now! Second layer of upper cabinets. And re: lower cabinet, I took out the things for donation today and put in car.

Lovely lovely lovely time with mom today. We went to a fabric store and looked at skirt patterns and then I did her grocery shopping.

Doing a load of dark laundry right now. And just like that, it's time to put on some music to putter by. OH! When BF carried in my groceries I realized my house isn't as clutter-free as I've been giving it credit for. Although rushes completely done, I still had my placecloth and cloth napkin on my table. And a few other things along those lines. My desk. I need to declutter the desk.

Oh yeah, the cabinet.

Is there a plan Tatoulia?

I am feeling a little overwhelmed in general and haven't gotten very far on my surfaces, but I am holding the days together.

I feel like maybe I need to make a goal chart and break it back - possibly stretching all the way to Christmas. (If I am going to make gifts, I have just over 4 months, which seems like a lot, but it's not exactly four months of uninterrupted time.

I've been doing a lot of research online about art from trash for one of the classes i'll be teaching, and I now kind of want to make every person on my list something out of "garbage".

I'm taking another class, i'm going to be teaching 11, I still have the farm, I have a show and sale in the fall, my parents may be coming to visit in October, dh ordered wood to start finishing the addition, and I will have to stain it....

Suddenly there is no time.

I'm still trying to focus on "what is most important today?" "Is this item needed?" And "clean up as you go."

Hi Tatoulia :)
Have a nice visit today with your Mom.
YEA! for lovely weather! :D
Since I haven't read anything about it...
Badger, badger, badger...
;)

Still sitting here in bed, reading online articles, drinking tea.
There are things I should be doing right now but "I don't wanna."

I came to the conclusion two years ago that my little garden/oasis area was just too much for me to handle any longer.
That I needed to reduce the amount of plants and simplify the layout.
But my neighbor friends pleaded with me not to, so I didn't.
Been thinking long and hard about it this Summer and have accepted the fact that I can no longer keep it up.
Been mentally figuring out what to let go of and the best way for me to arrange it to make it less work.
The whole thing looks a mess right now because I just can't physically maintain it like I used to.

I am happy with my decisions and looking forward to cooler temperatures when I can start to carry out my plans. ;D

SubC with God as my witness, I thought it was your 28th anniversary! I love Lebanese food! So delicious and healthy! Shoes are important! Taking care of your feet is important! I believe that anything is possible if you're wearing the right footwear. I wear walking shoes all over the city, bringing heels in my bag if I'm going somewhere where I want to be dressier. I also have heels in the closet at work. I carry my rainshoes when we are expecting a downpour, etc. nothing worse than not being able to do something because your feet hurt!!!

Tillie I am thinking of you today! We have cooler weather and I have my back windows open and ceiling fan on. Cannot do a thing with the front windows but I know in two months the scaffolding will be down (fingers crossed). They are working six days a week and seem to be making solid progress but what do I know. Perfect weather to hang out clothes!!

Going to hop in shower and go see mom. She's up and at ?dm today, having called me at 9:15.

Good Evening :)

Hi Subclinical :)
Sounds like a very nice way you two spent your 28 year anniversary. :)
You deserve to have new shoes.
Every once in a while being thrifty is not necessary because you have already saved so much money with your smart purchasing.
Wear and enjoy them in good health. (((HUG)))
Seems like you both needed the new shelves.
Him for his speakers and you to get your stools back, plus it's a nice place for some of your pottery to be displayed. :)

Hi Tatoulia :)
WTG! for the laundry :)
Hope you get some better tasting food tomorrow.
Twinkles is the easiest cat in the world to medicate.
Any of the spilled drops have been all my fault.
And he doesn't try to spit it out like all other cats do.
Funny thing is that Scooter watches me give Twinkles his medicine and then he starts mewing and begging for some too.
But whenever he has needed to take medicine he fights me tooth and nail. ;P

Tatoulia, i'm Sorry about the night call!

28 years.

My parents sent us some money and we decided to spend it on some little ikea shelves to go under his speakers in the addition. Right now they are on the stools I used to have in my pottery studio and would like back. Dh is putting them together, and then I get to put some of my pottery on the shelves.

On the way to ikea dh surprised me with a detour to buy me new shoes for school. I have sticker shock, but I really like them. He swears they were not too expensive. It's hard for me because I so rarely buy anything new at real stores except small things like underwear or garden/art tools and supplies.

On the way home we stopped by the library, and then had appetizers for dinner at a Lebanese place we really like.

Dh says he's up for another year.

I'm glad you got Twinkles medicated, Tillie. And I'm grateful that the medicine is working for our little buddy.

I ran errand for BF today then ran to mom's with a loaf of bread. I'll take her out tomorrow. I'm doing a load of laundry and making lunch. Will write more later.

Happy anniversary SubC!

Hi Subclinical :)
You did good finding any place to accept tapes these days.
I sincerely feel that if your Mom asks, a little white lie would be forgivable and a kindness to her.
So sorry the school is so chaotic right now.
Hopefully they get it all straightened out before you have to set up your room.
You'd think there would more battery disposal sites just to keep the batteries out of landfills.
HAPPY ANNIVERSERY!
How many years?
Anything special planned for dinner? :D

Hi Tatoulia :)
Thank you for knowing how needed my earrings are.
How scary a late night phone call is!
So relieved that everybody is alright.
But that is nice that PayPal will alert you if something happens with your account.
Please sent any excess rain West. ;D

This morning I heard a whole pack of coyotes yapping quite close to my home.
No wonder I have not seen any bunnies for days now. :(
The high temps are staying in 90s now with lows about 60.
So nice! :D
Still a bit smoky but not at all like it had been at it's worst.
Looking forward to soon being able to spend some time outdoors doing a bit of gardening.

Hi SubC. I don't know what to tell your mom about the tapes. They were giving her no pleasure, they were useless to her, yet I know she'll feel anxiety if they are gone. I guess I'd try to get away with a "nothing to worry about" type of statement but I don't know if that will work.

I cannot believe how quickly school is creeping up on everyone!

My phone rang at 12:59 AM and I was terrified. I didn't answer and I laid in my bed scared and worried. Finally I worked up the nerve to check caller ID and it was PayPal. They tried to call me all day yesterday with a Fraud Alert and I called them back so honestly the call at one in the morning was upsetting. But, Mom and BF were okay so I can live with that.

Going to try to do something today before torrential rains.

Hi all.

Yesterday I took my mom's tapes to the used book store. They gave me almost no money for them - which is what I was expecting, but the point was to get them out of mom's house (she no longer has any way to watch them and couldn't even donate them where she lives) but now I feel bad because I know she is going to ask about them and be upset if I am honest.

I also went by school, but the building is still too topsy-turvy for me to cope, so I just talked to an administrator about some paperwork and told the guys who were there helping which furniture wasn't supposed to be in my room.

And I brought home some recycling, including the bag of batteries we collected in the staff closet last year - the woman who was supposed to take them lost her drop off site and my Dd says she can drop them near her home.

She cancelled her trip to see my son, but is borrowing our truck next week, so I will give her the batteries then.

My son's stuff can stay until Christmas.

The disruption at school really hit me harder than I expected. Hopefully when I go back next week it will be better.

Today is my anniversary. We have no plans except dh is staying home all day, which is rare.

Hi Tatoulia :)
Sounds like a very good eating plan.
Dinner at a pub would be fun and a birthday dinner at a nice restaurant would be perfect.
I'll bring fresh whipped cream for those breakfast waffles. ;D

Good luck with all that benefit stuff.

Twinkles is feeling even better today.
This morning he was playing tag with Scooter. :D

Went into town early and filled two big water bottles.
Stopped by the thrift shop and had a very nice visit with some actual humans.
Bought a pair of earrings for two dollars that I absolutely needed. ;P
Sterling silver with real peridot cabochons.
I love peridot.
I already cleaned them and polished off all the tarnish and am wearing them.
Didn't go to the grocery store or the dollar store because I don't need anything from there.

Hey Tillie! I hope you get out today!! Hope Twinkles continues to improve!

I like the idea of cooking together. I don't know if she actually cooks but that's a great idea to plan the menu together. She normally spends tons of money on food when she's here and I'm trying to get her to back off from that. I can't eat that much and it would be more fun to go to a pub one night for something and to a nice restaurant for mom's birthday and then try to eat at home the rest of the time. I was thinking we could have waffles with fruit for breakfast.

All I know is mom will be thrilled!!!!!!

Yes she has a very good doctor. Phone call re brother's benefits went well today. Will have a decision next week.

Hope you get outside. I'm at office. No idea what the weekend holds for me!

How fantastic that the friend is coming to visit.
What a wonderful doctor to tell your Mom the unvarnished truth.
There is no reason what so ever for your brother to visit your Mom in her apartment when the building has so many lovely rooms where they can meet.
Fingers are crossed that tomorrow you & BF go to the museum! :D

I'm hoping you get your rain, Tillie. We've been having either torrential rains or hot and humid. Today was hot and humid. I had a conference this AM and decided to take a cab to it, rather than a train then a bus then walking. After the conference (excellent) we had a lunch/party about a mile away. I got a ride from someone. I got sick at the party as it wasn't air conditioned and it was 100F inside the tent. All around miserable. I left early and walked back to office where I got really sick. Luckily someone came in the office and he got me a glass of ice water and someone else came in and talked to me til the color came back into my face. BF picked me up and I napped in the AC.

I feel fine now. Just had an English muffin and a lot of water. I drank tons of water at the party and every time anyone got up from my table I asked for a glass of water.

I am getting garbage together. Just brewed my iced tea for tomorrow. I had coffee this AM and it tasted so delicious.

Mom has recovered from sister visiting yesterday. (Disastrous). OH! Big mom news. She confided in her doctor regarding my brother and he was very sweet, said that mom needs to understand she's done all she can do and that she can't do anything for him. He also told her not to let him into her apt. Last time she saw him she (at my insistence) waited did him in the lobby (there are several beautiful common rooms including a beautiful living room) and he was angry but that's the way it went. So that was reassuring for her.

I will hopefully finish straightening out brother's paperwork tomorrow. I just found out BF not working tmr so I'm hoping for some time at the museum with him!! After my work. I'll be out by 5.

Ok this weekend: second layer of kitchen cabinets. We can do this!

Hey :)

Well, I did get up and washed my hair.
Was moving real slow, still am.
Working very slowly I managed to do all the laundry.
But not any cat stuff, maybe tomorrow I'll get around to that.
Got all the other every single day cat related cat tasks completed.
Have not yet walked out across the street to get the mail.
Maybe before bedtime I'll do that.
It's gotten kinda cloudy and humid and it's hot.
Think that's why I have no energy or enthusiasm.
It's 4:30 now, hope we can have some more rain this evening. ;D

Hi CriticalMass :)
I have found that with the paste type medicine if I smear it onto the top of the cat's paws
the cat will sit there and lick it clean off of the paws.
Cats don't like their paws messy. ;D
Well wishes for a speedy recovery for your roommate. (((hug)))
Sorry that that meeting room is so annoying.
Hoping it can be moved eventually to a more pleasant location.
Yes, please do wear a dust mask if you get into the storage. ;)

Hi Tatoulia :)

Hi Subclinical :)
So sorry that you have to play "catch up" in the house today.
I think teenagers are better at cleaning up after themselves when left home alone than grown men are. (((hug)))
Yes, stairs and ladders are fantastic for exercise and really firm up legs & bums.
Have fun tonight at your class! :D

Cloudless blue skies with only a very scant hint of smoke this morning.
Only plan for today is to wash my hair.
Twinkles is acting better. He is back to talking a lot and hanging around with me and the other cats.
Well, it is 11:00am so guess it's time to get up. ;P

CM, I hope girl kitty likes the paste medicine and doesn't fight you too much!

Tillie, I am so glad you got rain!

Here it started raining half an hour before I reached home last night and is going to continue pretty steadily for three days.

I pretty much need to be inside today anyway - dh clearly ate take out food because all the silverware and coffee cups are dirty but hardly and dishes and only one egg pan. Also the compost is moldy and we are out if orange juice and awash in empty beer bottles.

Plus almost a week of laundry....

I only gained a pound at my mother's house, so I guess I should spend a few hours a day going up and down ladders.

Today I will clear surfaces, unload my car, and run laundry and dishes. I have my last evening class tonight and I need to get started on plans for the classes I will be teaching - open house in 10 days.

Quick drop in-have a conference today.

CM medicine tip: have kitty on a chair or couch or otherwise up high and have the paste ready. Don't try to stoop to floor level, too hard. Get her up higher at least knee high and then administer.

Love you. Things will get better. Standing right by your side.

Hello

Lots going on with you all, I can tell - have to skim but hope to reread in detail. This year really has been insane and I hope it slows down.

Right now I am pretty well over my cold, but now my roommate has it. I feel terrible for her because she has such severe allergies and immune problems so it is already hitting her so much harder. :(

Kitty girl is slower to recover from her UTI than we'd hoped, but hers was worse than boy cat's. We discovered the pee last night. It was on the case my keyboard goes in. My keyboard that I itch to play often like I used to before moving to where I am with no good comfortable place to set it up. The case can probably be cleaned.

As for kitty, vet has a stronger antibiotic on order for her. Hoping since this one comes in a paste it won't mean waiting hours for the cat to finish eating food with meds mixed in. Catching the kitty and giving the paste will require strategy though.

Had clutter club today - I still hate the conference room. I don't subscribe to the supernatural parts of the feng shui concept, but I definitely believe that the layout and other features of a building or a room influences the humans (and animals if any) who occupy it, for better or worse.

In the windowless space, about a 10th of our former space, it's like the voices of everyone talking at once because I suspect most of us have ADHD traits - all the chatter like dozens of ping pong balls bouncing every which way. We did have some good discussion during the times we were focused, but I just would be willing to bet we could have done so much better in the old relaxed atmosphere.

Be that as it may. I do have some motivation and ideas, it will take a little time to implement them. I will wear a dust mask if I go to the storage unit.

Just wish life wouldn't be so relentlessly filled with crises.

Hi Tatoulia :)
Twinks is back to his old self.
Took his medicine like a good boy.
Just before I got online he reminded me that nobody had had their evening snack yet. ;D

When I was posting the last time, some nice clouds were moving in helping it to cool off outside.
So I took all 4 litter boxes out into the back yard to wash them.
Soon as they were all empty and I had added the hot water, laundry detergent and bleach the wind started to rage and then there was lightning, thunder and HUGE fat rain drops.
A real gully washer!
There had been absolutely no rain in the weather prediction for today.
So I quickly finished up scrubbing and hosing off one litter box, brought it inside and toweled it dry & filled it so there would be a box inside for them.
After this wonderful surprise shower ended I finished the other boxes.
It was so nice to have the rain. ;D

Welcome home, SubC! I am grateful you are home safely. You did such a great job and I'm in awe of how well your family worked together. Great work and very inspiring.

Tillie I am so pleased that dear Twinkles is home. I hope the kitty is able to relax some. I have a timid cat. Not with me, not with BF but she's still got her flight or fight instincts from being a stray at a very young age.

I fell asleep tonight. When I woke up I assumed it was 3:00. Nope, just 11.

Conference tomorrow. I'm going to get back to bed now.

Thank you all for getting me through the cabinet. I'm amazed it wasn't worse. I'm looking forward to the next layers of the upper cabinets.

I hope the family friend will come out again. It would be great fun and I have scads of vacation days.

Hello Subclinical :)
Welcome home.
Thank you for checking in so we won't worry that you got home safely :)

Hello Tatoulia :)
That would be so nice if your friend could come visit!
Imagine her surprise seeing your place now. ;)

The second pass on an area already gone through is always surprising in that there are usually some more things found that can go find a new home elsewhere.
It's like peeling the layers off of an onion.

Twinkles is home.
After the Vet appt. Steven took him with him back to work and put him in the office.
Right now Twinkles is hiding under the bed and won't come out, not even when Scooter tries.
Twinkles has a congenital condition that causes him to have issues with his gums.
Because of this he had to have all but three teeth removed.
He had been doing very well for several years but his gums are inflamed again.
Marty had the exact same condition and that is why I believe they are related and they came here together as best buddies.
Anyways...
He got a steroid shot and has amoxicillin liquid to take twice daily for the next ten days.
Other than that, the rest of him is doing just fine.

Soon as I post this I plan to empty, scrub, scour & sanitize all 4 litter boxes.
Been waiting until it was cool enough to spend the time outdoors doing this much needed cat chore.

Tillie thank you!! We did it!!! I will have someone over soon. Being hot, I'm not in a big hurry to make plans. But I did just write to a family friend to tell her if she wants to come in October, I will pay for her flight. That's the friend who set all of this in motion for me. She was coming to visit and I realized I had too much stuff. She cleaned my kitchen both times she visited and did other tasks. She stays up all night then gets up at 5:30 and starts moving immediately. She can't sit still. So I've invited her so she can see mom one last time. Last time she came she cried when I was taking her to the airport because she wasn't sure she'd see mom again. I'll try to get her here.

I will work on second layer on the upper kitchen cabinets. I bet there's more I can get rid of this time. That is how I'd like to close out August.

I will check the prices for the ACs. I still have to order my electric fireplace.

Waiting anxiously for word on kittycat, Tillie.

WOOHOO!!!
WAY TO GO!!! :D

How wonderful to have that cabinet all sorted out!

I have discovered that the best time to buy a new space cooler is at the end of Summer.
Also, the best time to buy a new space heater is at the end of Winter.
CLEARANCE PRICES. ;)

So, when should you schedule inviting company over?
What about some of your girl friends?
Tea and cake would be nice. ;)

You have done so very, very much and come so very, very far in reclaiming your home.
Do NOT wimp out now!
September would be a very good month to tackle that last frontier of scary stuff.
You know how to do it after practicing on the cabinet.
Just think how wonderful it will feel to have all of this spooky stuff behind you. (((HUGS)))

Good luck getting in contact with the missing seamstress.

Hi Tillie!! Cabinet done! The stuff I'm keeping is in there all washed (most of the washing was dine during previous excavations) and the things I'm donating are bagged up and put back in the cabinet! No treasures found but I'm good with that.

I polished my silver flatware today and put it in the new silver cloths I purchased. I then cleaned the kitchen sink.

My portable AC in the living room is on its last legs. Still keeping my house very, very cooled but it's starting to leak water. I cleaned up the water and I'm watching it. So far no more leaks. I knew this season that we are on borrowed time. I'll drain it daily and try to keep it going. I don't think I'll keep it for next summer. I don't think it can keep working. I'll see how I feel at the end of the season and more important, I'll see how it is feeling.

I realize now my house is ready for visitors. The bathroom is clean, the whole house is clean. I'm fighting the clutter daily. I can realize my dream of having people over again. Just invite people to stop by. It's been a long time.

I think I mentioned the cleaners are doing my fridge next time. No old food or anything it needs an actual cleaning.

The woman making my pillows hasn't gotten back to me. I emailed her this week and she said she'd get back to me on Monday. I still haven't heard from her. I don't want her rushing my job but I also don't want her to disappear with all of my fabric. I'll send a reminder on Monday.

I still have a closet that scares me. I honestly don't know when I'll get to that but get to it I must. Shall we call that my September project?? That will be the last frontier of scary stuff.

Good Morning :)
Iced chai masala "Clink!"

Good Luck in there Tatoulia. ;D
Only Pooh kitty and Scooter actually fit in a cat carrier.
But I have to put Scooter in the dog carrier because he firmly places his feet on the outside of the cat carrier and won't let go.
So stuffing him is impossible even with two humans working together.

Hi Subclinical :)
Wishing you a pleasant drive home today. (((hug)))

Beautiful morning here. Scattered clouds, blue sky and minimal smoke.
There's no laundry to do, no dishes to wash, nothing needs watering.
Going to take advantage of this and play today. ;D

Safe travels, SubC!

Good luck twinkles! BFs cat Tigger needs to go in a dog carrier too. Giant mackerel tabby who is now 19 and probably could go in a normal sized carrier now that the aging process has shrunk him.

I'm ready for the cabinet. There's not much left. Tess keep your spirits up.

Hello Tess :)
WAY TO GO! planning on doing a few chores since you aren't going out! :D
Hope your evening has been pleasant.

Hi Tatoulia :)
Thank you (((hug)))
Yes, I did laundry today!
All caught up.

Keep telling yourself that it is just a cabinet and not a wardrobe leading into Narnia.
It has a limit to how much space is in there and you will eventually get to the end. ;D

I was outside dealing with the sprinkler this evening when Steven came home.
He stopped and civilly spoke to me.
Twinkles has an appointment at 3:20 tomorrow.
So by 3:00 I will have the carrier and Twinkles all ready to go.
Twinkles is so large that he does not fit in a regular size cat carrier so I put him in the carrier that I used for my Cocker Spaniel.
Alright, I could actually stuff him into a small cat carrier but he would be all squished up tight and going to the Vet is traumatic enough without that added indignity.

Hello everybody! SubC I'm so happy for you and your parents! What a wonderful, loving thing you did for them! Tillie I am so so sorry about Steven. So so sorry. I hope you were able to do laundry today!

Tess, keep up the good work! I like to stream pandora and start puttering. We are so glad you are here!

Very tired tonight. After work I fed kitty then napped. Now we are enjoying a glass of water together.
I am home tomorrow, which means I have to go into the cabinet. And finish it.

Hi everybody!
Reading all your posts is a mood lifter for me. And a motivator. It makes me feel good to see all of you doing so well.

I had plans with my guy tonight. I was hoping to have a talk, but he had to cancel on me. For legitimate reasons. That's ok though. It gives me a chance to get some work done at home. It's garbage night and I want to do laundry.

Hope you all have a good night!

Mom is very happy. She is so proud of us. She says she was very worried about the project, but it was so much easier than she thought it would be.

Dad is absolutely delighted.

Good Morning Everyone :)

Hi Subclinical :)
FANTASTIC!
Job well done :D
How is your Mom feeling about this?
Hope she is feeling relieved that she no longer has to risk going up into the attic ever again.
Have a pleasant rest of your visit there and a safe trip back home tomorrow.

Hi Tatoulia :)
That's sweet, she made you toaster pancakes. :D
That's wonderful that your repurposed clothes hamper is making it easy to help keep your bedroom tidy. :)
That's true, the cleaning ladies are a part of your support system.

The air is a tinge smoky this morning but might clear out in a little while.
If it does then I will do some laundry.
Need to water the lilac hedge today, that's pretty easy to do.
Steven has not spoken to me for days but I know he got my note about Twinkles needing medical attention.
I would discuss this with him but I am always reluctant to initiate conversation with him.
It is never pleasant and leaves me angry, frustrated and generally miserable.
If I leave another note he will become violent toward the note.
Screaming curses and slamming/throwing things around out there in the garage and/or his bedroom.
Dude needs some serious help...

Tatoulia, I think the cleaning people are a great support for you.

And I am glad you got all your brother's paperwork done.

Tillie, how is the kitty?

We took all the donations and empty plastic bags to drop this morning, and dad took all the burn stuff down to the barrel. All that is left is loading my car tomorrow and the dump run.

Tillie! Cooking all the hamburgers at once was a great idea! It reminds me of many years ago when I was in the hospital and when mom cane to drive me home, she'd made me pancakes. They were in a large ziplock bag and separated by wax paper. So I could just pop one or two in the toaster and have pancakes! Too bad the burgers can't go in the toaster!

The cleaning ladies are the way for me. Every two weeks ensures I'll have a clean home. I didn't have them work on bedroom since I need cat to have a place to be. I dusted the bedroom last night and will vacuum tonight or tomorrow. The thing in the bedroom which has made the biggest difference is the hamper. It's hidden behind my door and it is perfect. I use it faithfully. I've also learned to put my shoes away.

I did a lot of hard work and the cleaners are part of my support system.

Iced tea clinks?off to work soon!

Hi Tatoulia :)
Of course you should keep that chair.
It's comfortable as well as sentimental.
Just make sure to sit there often. :)
Good job working on that paperwork.
WTG! for finding ways to flush that excess salt out of your system!

Many, many people need to have cleaning ladies in at least monthly.
Without this added help too many people fall back into hoarding, disorganization and other unhealthy living conditions.
The cleaning ladies not only keep your home clean but by being there regularly helps keep you honest about not acquiring too much or leaving everything just lay out, not put away. ;)

I cooked the hamburger tonight.
I cooked all the patties so I can just heat them up as I need to.
Just the smell of the cooking beef was so satisfying, more so than actually eating the hamburger. :D
Hoping tomorrow will be clear enough to do laundry.
This afternoon was not very smoky bad at all, YEA!
