Yay for happy bunnies and hospital solutions!

And yay for everyone getting poked!

Tillie, I am hoping all comes out well for the kitties. It's nice to think of you cozy in bed with a nice little meat pie.

All will be happy to know I got my priorities in order this morning. Before I left for school I fleshed out the lesson plans, started a load of dishes, and made more chocolate sauce.

Now I am home, showered, fed, and have a wash in.

I will do chores and put things in order for tomorrow because Wednesday is always a rush, then wash in the dryer and off to bed.

Well, today has really been a blessing, and an amazing improvement on yesterday!

To back up for a moment and quote SubC:

Some people would say that gives you plenty of time to figure something out, so I hope you do, but I know for me it would be "now this is going to throw me off for nearly a month."
😩

This description fit my state of mind yesterday to a T. And partway into today. My roommate and I had agreed yesterday to take the drive, in my van with her riding shotgun. That is not so difficult for me these days, no highways or anything involved.

But it was the thought of what the unknown would be, and being out someplace unfamiliar, and/or perhaps having to drive out there or back by myself at a difficult time such as rush hour or in the dark. Like if she gets discharged late in the day as sometimes happens.

So anyway, we drove out there but I'm thinking, I wish I could but I really feel like this is just too far out of my safe zone. Not as far as a long road trip but just far enough out of it. And it was very humiliating and awkward when I had to say so. I felt bad about letting her down. 😭 And all the shame of decades of panic and agoraphobia limiting my life, the anger at what has been stolen from me with this crap. 😡

But roommate is trying to be understanding, I can also tell. There's just this time as we're on our way home where it's sort of uncertain. At home, I got busy with my Badger Project (more on that below). I noticed roommate was in the bathroom for awhile, and wondered if she was in touch with family.

As it turns out, she was indeed - but it was a niece who had called her for another reason. This niece lives in that bedroom community town and is a healthcare worker - and she has graciously volunteered to transport roommate to the surgery and home when released! 😊💖 Such a relief, and an answer to prayers. 🙏 And I really think it will be better for roommate to have a calm, competent person than a Nervous Nellie! And someone who is family.

I am SO thankful that has worked out so well.

And now for the other blessings of today:

The Badger Project consisted of getting both my bunnies' cages deep cleaned. It's done, yay! Happy bunnies, happy bunny momma here.
👱🏻‍♀️🐇🐇

Plus on the way out on our drive, I had stopped at the Walgreens and gotten my flu shot. 💉

So I can tick 2 items off my To-Do List. Feels great. I hope to get through more of them. Have an idea which one I'd like to tackle next, another that has been hanging over my head, is not that complicated, and would feel very reassuring to get done.

Tillie, your description of your meat pies reminds me somewhat of the pasties my Michigander ex boyfriend taught me how to make. The recipe got lost after our breakup but I could probably find another.

Maybe you could share your version with us here? I'm interested in how to make something like that ahead, as it might heat up nicely in the convection oven in wintertime. I'm a tweaker of recipes so it doesn't have to be as precise as Martha Stewart for me to figure it out. In fact, I'd probably want to make different types - maybe pizza, BBQ, etc.

Good Morning Everybody

Hi CriticalMass
Hope a good solution comes up for transporting Roommate to & from the hospital.
I understand (((HUG)))
Whenever Steven is at the big hospital in Reno I have to drive all that distance to pick him up and it is traumatic.

YES! get that flu shot!!! :D

Still not sure if Twinkles is alright. He spent all yesterday sleeping/pouting on a towel in the corner of the bathroom.
Still has not cleaned all the dirt off on his fur.
Have not seen any of the other participants since the fight either.
The yard is full of big chunks/fluffs of fur.

Hi Tatoulia
Hope your hands can now get a break from all the excessive washing.

Steaming should get that curtain seam to relax.
You bathroom sounds lovely, do you like it???

Good luck finding the exactly perfect kitchen mat.

Hi Subclinical
Come on, your house always takes a big hit when school starts back up.
Get the priorities done and you are doing great.
WTG! for yoga and hot cereal!

Can you do the drive up for hay and straw like you did for the feed?
More chocolate sauce sounds like a priority too.

Good luck with whatever you get to today. (((HUG)))

This is wonderful...
I can rest in bed all day AND have good things to eat.
The kitchen is completely clean.
Yes, I am a bit achy but it was worth it.
Will water some garden flowers this afternoon.

Good morning.

Thank you Tatoulia,
But I don't feel like I am doing great, I feel like I am barely getting by.

I try not to focus on the stuff I didn't do, but this weekend I didn't move my roosters, set up my garlic bed, or plant my garlic. The stalls are getting very bad, boy bunny needs grooming, and I have no straw or hay bought for winter yet. The fridge is full of milk and the chocolate sauce jar is nearly empty.

I have bare bones plans for today and none for tomorrow. And I am starting the week with a messy fallen behind house.

I am very happy for you that your painting is done and your shower curtain is up! I am going to need reassuring that the vinyl rug isn't going to be a slipping risk.

CM, November 10 is along time. Some people would say that gives you plenty of time to figure something out, so I hope you do, but I know for me it would be "now this is going to throw me off for nearly a month." I'm sorry for the disruption.

Tillie, I am delighted with the thought of all your little meat pies. Please just leave the bed out for a while. It's not worth the discomfort. And it is fall. A lovely time to curl up in bed in the afternoons. Hopefully you and the kitties are all ok this morning.

Dh and I drove up to the courthouse and voted yesterday. It wasn't too bad.

Trying to end on a positive note - did yoga and cooked hot cereal for breakfast this morning.

CM I am grateful that there is a good amount of time for a solution regarding driving to the surgery. Stay focused on a solution and not the problem. You've been doing a lot lately and I want you to remember to breathe. The badger was here all day, so I apologize for monopolizing the animal.

I have my shower curtain up. One of the seams might be a bit buckled. It's hard to tell. It needs to be steamed so I'll find my steamer this week and steam it out. I took the vinyl rug from my kitchen and put in the bathroom and it looks great. So I'll get a new vinyl rug for the kitchen. I'll have to take a day off to go out to the place that sells them. Nice little boutique that isn't open on sundays. And this coming Saturday I'm going to a friend's house. The same one I always see in the city. We will walk out in the suburbs by her house this time.

Have started to put my hallway back together. But not finished.

I'm a bit broke after this weekend. The paint was expensive. The painter was not. But he was here three days.

Off to bed. Would love to take tomorrow off just to get a day off. Which is crazy talk, of course.

Tillie your meat pies sound absolutely delicious! And I bet your place smells so nice. I'm sorry you had such trouble with the bed and your poor sore body. Also that was an awful lot of cat activity outside.

SubC you are doing great. You amaze me,

Goodnight, all. My poor hands are rough from excessive and obsessive washing.

I'm glad I got my flu shot. We used to get them at work, I sometimes got at work, other times at the pharmacy. I think last year I got the flu shot with my first dose of shingles so naturally that was a big day.

Hope the cats are okay and that breaking up the catfight didn't make your pain worse again.

Roommate got the call from the surgery scheduling today. It's to be November 10th. There is a concern for me because the place is unexpectedly far away, not just across town but in the bedroom community town beyond. I don't know about driving that with my agoraphobia.

It's too complicated to explain further at this time. I'm just hoping perhaps there'll be a workable solution wherein maybe some of her family could help with that part while I mind the homestead and the animals. Well, at least we know the date, and I called a support friend who also deals with agoraphobia. That calmed me enough that I feel like I can let go and sleep on it tonight and be okay with not knowing what's going to happen.

I'll get the flu shot tomorrow. The badger project went by the wayside with all the flurry of her scheduling but I'll get to it asap.

My house smells so good.
Smells like "home".
Home cooking is really the best smell.
Now I have a stash of yummy things to eat.
So tired of having had to resort to quick easy meals that lacked any hominess. :)

So far, so good.
Have the meatball stuff all mixed up and shaped into balls.
Bought Bridgford frozen bread dough cause kneading a batch of dough is out of the question right now.
Waiting on the dough to double then I will wrap them up & start baking.

Also, the kitchen is all clean!!!
Kept up with all the dishes and wiping the counter too.
YEA!!! Me ;D

Steven let Twinkles out without me knowing this morning.
Jack was out there and Twinkles hates Jack so I would never have let him out.

Well, Twinkles started a fight with Jack, the neighbor's little black girl kitty came over to join in.
I had to run out and break up a 3 cat cat fight and carefully catch Twinkles and get him inside.
Had to scruff him.
Only time will tell if anyone was injured, their eyes all looked alright.
Stupid territorial Twinkie. >:(

"Clink!"

Hi Tatoulia
WAY TO GO!!! for getting your flu jab!!! :D
Just one less little thing to worry about.

Relieved the painter is not having problems with that paint and that it is covering well.
I never buy the expensive paint or the cheapest paint.
The medium priced paint has always worked well for me and can be washed later too.
YEA! for a new toilet seat. :D

So frustrating when the tv remote takes off and hides.
So great you were able to go up and visit with Mom and Kitty Sister. (((HUG)))

Hope sleep made that headache go away.

Hi CriticalMass
Happy you and the computer have come to some kind of an agreement and are able to work together ;D

I went through my cupboards and found you some more...

Hi Subclinical
Wonderful you had some good Family time! :D
I bet you got some pictures too.
Lovely times to remember.

Good luck getting school stuff done.

Remaking my bed was very difficult & painful last night.
But I got it done with fresh linens & all.
Spending the entire day without laying down really made me hurt.
So I won't be doing that again soon.
Sitting still hurts.

Today I plan to cook.
I will make these things that I love so much.
Small meatball size bits of hamburger, shredded carrots, garlic, onion, black pepper, basil & oregano all wrapped up in bread dough and baked till golden brown.
These are a Fall favorite of mine and I used to carry them Deer hunting cause they are small, hand size and fit in my pocket.
I always make a lot of them and they freeze very well so I would have plenty of them to eat for a while.
Wish me well and that I can do this big project! :D

Here you go CM. 🦡🦡🦡🦡🦡

Those should be enough to get you started.

Tatoulia, I'm glad the painting is going well.

Tillie I hope you got your bed back last night. I want everyone to gave a comfortable place to sleep! No am glad you gave chrysanthemums.

I had fresh sheets on my bed, and Dh decided it's time for the big down comforter. 🙂

Bean didn't take home a pumpkin, he just looked. His other Grammy (we spell it differently) got him three pumpkins in different colors and sizes for his porch last week. Next year he can walk around and choose his own. I have a bunch of little pie pumpkins for him to eat. I'll take them over when he is bigger.

We fixed him up with a little lion headband costume for Halloween. He was super cute!

What he liked best were the chimes on my trees and the Christmas lights on the dining porch. (White icicle, I leave them up year round)

Dd2 took home a pumpkin. She and her bf decided to stay over in the barn, so we had a lovely evening campfire with them, but I got very tired and behinder on my plans. Yesterday I almost finished the things I had planned to have done on Saturday.

Today I need to make sure I'm ready for the school week.

Hi all,

Thinking of you Tillie, and your boy. 💞

Computer and I were getting along until yesterday evening when I started having problems but then I figured out what to do. I'm going to have to strike a compromise between what my brain wants to do organizing the computer as a system, and what the software will allow me to do.

But I guess it will work out. It feels better than the Linux. That was a learning experience. I don't entirely regret it, and maybe at some point I'll want to learn Linux just so I could use it if I had to. Right now, though, I have lots of catching up to do on what the glitches were slowing me up with.

Today at church I learned we will getting a new pastor, not merely an administrator, in about 3 weeks. That made me very happy and reassured to hear.

I think I'll get my flu shot Tuesday afternoon, after quilting.

Tomorrow there is a project I'm still procrastinating on. I need Badger. A whole army of Badgers. More later.

WTG Tillie for making up your bed today!

Painter did the second primer coat this AM and then came back four hours later and did the first top coat. He's decided to do second top coat tmr and also do the trim and door tmr. The paint is working well for him. That said, never again will I buy this overpriced expensive paint. The saturation of the color is beautiful. I had a different color picked out for my hallways and I?ve found the Benjamin Moore equivalent. I'll need to take a break from any of this for a few weeks. Money-wise and time-wise.

So in the four hours between coats, I went for a walk and GOT MY FLU SHOT and ran other errands. Poor mom can't find her tv remote and went the whole day without her tv. She's now found it. She doesn't sound well but I was unexpectedly able to sneak up last night and spent some good time with her and kitty cat.

I bought a new toilet seat today. I asked the painter to put on for me.

So I was going to put the grommets in my new shower curtain tonight but then BF wanted my company done we hung out at work together and got a pizza. It was terrific being with him.

I have a headache. Going to bed now.

I want to hear about Bean and the pumpkin patch.

Cm I am thinking of you!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone

Today, for the second time since I got laid up
I was able to roll up all my bedding and make up the couch!!!
YEA! :D

Just hope I can reverse the process tonight at bedtime. ;p

Washed my sheets & pillow cases.
Let Twinkles & Scooter go out in the yard.
Half an hour later Scooter came back inside but Twinkles is still out.

Really need to wash dishes but not so sure I will be able to today.
Still need to water garden plants and shower & shampoo today.

The Chrysanthemums are gorgeous.
The Asters are brightly colored and very proud.

Hey Peeps 🐾

Hi Subclinical
YEA! for 2 weeks of school down!
So very sorry that "adult" has been acting so very irresponsibly. >:(

The hospital and hospital thrift shop here have started carrying various sizes of disposable face masks so there are masks specifically for small people now.

I hope you have had a WONDERFUL day today!!!
So, how did your pumpkin patch do this year!
What pumpkin did Bean go home with! 💕

WAY TO GO!!! Tatoulia!!! 🎆🎠🎨
YEA! for getting the bathroom painting started!
Very curious as to why they consider that paint to be so difficult.
I have never had paint that was hard to work with.
?

Please make a firm commitment to get your flu shot sometime this next week.
Remember we have to wait about two weeks before it really starts to protect us.

So relieved Miss Kitty is liking her new potty.
Looks really don't matter with something as necessary as a proper litter box, one that keeps things contained and the cat uses faithfully.
Maybe throw a pashmina shawl over the top to pretty it up a bit.

Bet the tea towels look sweet covering up the open space. :)

YEA! for doing papers and cleaning while the painter painted!

I watered the Lilac hedge, grass and trees today.
Then I remembered that I forgot to brush my teeth, wash my face or brush my hair all day.
So not like me. 😕
Will post this and do that...

Today the wind blew around a lot of Fall leaves.
The Ash trees are mostly all yellow now.
There were toad stools in the grass so I picked them and threw them away.

Spent some time with Twinkles & Scooter & Jack & Cowgirl Kitty.

Ok two coats of ceiling paint, one coat of primer done. He'll come back early tmr for one more coat of primer then go home, come back in four hours for the top coat. Then on Monday he'll do the second top coat. Hopefully that's all it will need.

Next weekend he'll do the trim and doors, then I need to pick out color for the cabinet. I also have decided to leave the door off the cabinet, (we'd taken off the door to put in litter box; it's covered by a tea towel on a tension rod). The cat is having trouble negotiating the box and is peeing straight out. However, she acclimated to her covered litter box like a champ. I will find a place to hid it, maybe in the office area. It's huge so "hide" isn't possible; however, there is no odor coming from it. My house was stunning due to her cat pee issues. I'll figure out a hiding place.

I have some very sweet hand embroidered tea towels that I suspect would look very sweet instead of putting the door bavk on. I'll check it out and see what needs to be done. In the meantime, either tonight or tmr I have to put the grommets in my shower curtain.

I worked on papers and I disinfected my kitchen while he was here. After he left, I disinfected my bathroom. He is a good worker. Doesn't talk at all. Very kind and very neat. I don't have an estimate, I'll get some cash tonight from the ATM and again tmr and hope I have enough in me when it's time to pay him. He's very honest and tends to undervalue his time.

He went to the paint store today to get the ceiling paint and he asked about the stuff I'm using for my walls. they were telling him how awful this British paint is to work with, and he told the guy, but these people are family. Very kind-the goodwill is all my BF's, not mine.

Pizza picnic sounds terrific! Enjoy your time!

Painter has been here. We know him. He's very quiet and meticulous. Very easy to work with. This paint will be the death of him. But he said he's glad to learn how to use it. But that one of his colleagues was telling him how hard it is to work with. So I won't be using it again. Plus it was very expensive. I know it's super finicky and I'm a bit mad at myself for agreeing to it. We will not use on the hallway.

So we shall live through the bathroom. He just finished the ceiling and then after his lunch he'll do the first coat of primer.

I have two gallons each of paint and primer. I know this project will kill his weekend. But I will pay him whatever it costs.

Thinking of you today Tillie.

CM, I'm crossing my fingers for your computer.

2 weeks of school down, 30 to go (we cut the year short because of the late start) so far so good and I am not sorry I did it yet.

All week I have been putting mask tightener straps on kids and reporting non-compliant masks and in one case a coworker who was pulling his mask down and speaking loudly enough to be heard in the hall through his closed classroom door - while waving his arms and walking around a room with students in it!

Our doors are supposed to be open. Doors and windows.

The kids have been really good.

My girls are arriving any minute for outdoor pizza picnicking and pumpkin picking (in my garden) with dil, Dd2's boyfriend, and best of all Bean.

I'm about to put bread in the oven and will put my mask on and take it straight out to porch to cool so the girls can each take a loaf home.

Car door!

Oh Tillie I bet you remember the day your dear son was born. Time has a way of feeling like yesterday and 100 years ago, all at once. I'm so sorry you lost your boy. What a tragedy. I'm so sorry.

I'll write more tmr. Love you all.

Good Evening Everybody

Hi CriticalMass
Hope you are able to relax and enjoy your little bit of alone time.
Roommate won't be gone too long and you need to be rested up for when she returns.

Try pushing away any bad thoughts, replace them with good feeling images & sounds.

So glad your computer is back to being more useable for you! :D

Please try to make a firm commitment to get your flu shot this next week.
It helps relieve a little bit of the fear of getting sick and we all need that tiny bit less of worry.

Got the garden watered.
Need to water grass and Lilacs tomorrow.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a very high wildfire danger day.
October 10th would be my son's birthday.

Happy Friday evening

The scheduler never called for my roommate's surgery so we are still in limbo.

I got my laptop back with Windows 10 on it and have been playing with it all afternoon. Have most of the features and programs installed and tweaked to my liking. It does seem to run more smoothly.

I hope this is all the computer messing about I'll need to do for awhile! I happened to have my old Microsoft Office disk from my previous laptop with extra licenses on it so was able to install that.

This week I had several things on my To Do list but haven't gotten but one or two of them done. It has been a time of feeling strung out emotionally when my surgery memories got triggered, and thinking about how we're going to plan all this, and whether with the cumulative stress of this 2020 annus horribilis I will be okay by myself here and not get nighttime anxiety.

But I always think I'm going to get that, and really in the last 2-3 years I have been able to deal and often enjoy the solitude, so hopefully I will be okay this time round as well. There are some really great long-play videos of relaxation music on YouTube - I recommend Peder B. Helland, he is a new discovery for me. Hard to be stressed listening to his soft piano and nature sounds.

Tillie, I wish too there was something more you could get for a health plan and be able to have surgery for those cysts and whatever else would help.

Tatoulia, I envy you being able to do cards; I've pretty much resigned myself to being too unsettled to get them in the mail. Times in recent years I've tried and then ended up tossing the cards. One card at a time for birthday or sympathy is doable, but holiday cards or general correspondence, forget it. I think it's nice and it's something you enjoy.

SubC, I hope school is going smoothly and that the relief of the negative test is still feeling good. And that your kids and their friends will be all right through their own struggles.

I'm glad we're all getting flu shots. That was on my list this week but didn't get done. Next week I hope.

Good Morning Everybody

Hi Subclinical
Glad your arm is feeling better.
I think it's worth it to have a bit of sore arm in order to not get influenza, especially this year.

WTG! for keeping the house somewhat under control and YEA! for the daily yoga!!! :D

Of course you are exhausted when the sun goes down.
You do so much physically and mentally daily now.
Hope you are sleeping soundly. No weird dreams or other worries keeping you up. (((HUG)))

Have a wonderful Friday at school :D

I have been anxiously waiting for the day when I can stop watering outdoors and finally officially put the hoe down.
But it is still in the upper 70s lower 80s for now and I need to keep watering, but not as often or as much as when it was over 100F day after day, week after week.

But it's ok because Steven doesn't believe in global warming, thinks it's a hoax just like covid19.
Idiot......

When I can finally detach the hose and winterize the spigot then I will have more time to do everything I have been too sick and tired to do.
Twinkles desperately needs brushing and I can almost sit on the floor again.
The house is terribly dusty, everywhere.
General housekeeping has not been getting done, just enough done to keep it barely livable.
And I would really like to play with my beads and hope soon I can sit comfortable enough to do that.

So many plans and things I want to and need to do. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃

My arm is mostly better. House hasn't fallen too far behind this week and I've managed to fit yoga in every day.

I'm pretty exhausted by 9:00 though.

Heading off to school - excited about seeing my Friday kids in person today!

Good Morning Everyone

Hi Tatoulia

Hi Subclinical
Sorry your arm is sore.
Mine only feels a little bruised if I touch it.
Wish your Mom had a drive up like I had. Never got near anybody except the two nurses working it.

The grocery store shelves were full of toilet paper but the cleaning product shelves were bare & very picked over.
The fresh ginger root was just small dried up bits.
But I did get a small pumpkin. :D

Was going to fill the gas tank yesterday but the car accident was right by the gas station so I plan to gas up today then start my 2 week quarantine.

Hi CriticalMass
Wishing you all the best of luck with the computer Geek fixing up your computer.

Last time Steven was in the hospital they were allowing one person/visitor in.
I had to be screened and hand sanitized with face mask but the hospital had loosened up the strict rules so people could have a patient advocate with them.
Prayers, fingers crossed, holding our breath that Roommate comes through without any complications. ((((HUG))))

I suppose right now you two should get the home ready for her recovery time there.
Get the food she will need, plenty of beverages, areas clear for walking.
Areas clear for any family that comes.
Happy the garage sale is over with and all leftovers donated.
Sorry you have to put all other plans on hold but "life happens". ((((HUGS))))

Checking in

Got the fish tank donated, what a relief - I was getting nervous no one would want them anymore.

This was supposed to be more of a catching up week, and in some ways I suppose it has been. Better than last week prepping for the garage sale, anyway.

But I'm slow getting stuff done. And wanting to procrastinate on the harder things.

My roommate had a specialist appointment and now the plan for biopsy has been changed to a plan for surgery, including overnight time 2-3 nights in hospital. It was emotional for her, obviously, and by association for me as well (remembering the 2016 surgery I had, how lonely I was in the hospital and with no one there to advocate for me on some things I think I needed that).

To think of her during this time of Covid and I won't even be able to help and spend time as a friend, nor would even any of her family if they came. She doesn't want to take her good phone but I'm going to see if I can talk her into taking my cheapie old dumbphone so we can at least text. Perhaps hospitals have some iPads or something for the patients, who knows. They have wifi. I had my tablet with me when I was in and that was a good distraction and way to feel connected with the outside world.

Also, her sibs were wanting to come down again and help already with home fixup and yard work, so now they may want to come help with this. Therefore, I will need to address my mess. Yikes.

So all in all a bit emotionally and mentally overwhelming, especially the first day she told me about it all.

In other news...

Warning, nerd jargon ahead...🤓💻

I talked to the computer guys again, and one of them was able to assure me that if I had them put Windows 10 on my laptop, he could make it so that the obnoxious and/or privacy-compromising features were disabled. So I think I can be okay with that.

He said Linux is more for servers. I know a lot of people use it for home use, but I have come to intuit that those who do are apparently less wild-n-crazy users than yours truly. In any case, I gave Linux a fair shot, but at least for now I don't think it's for me.

So in a little while we'll be off to the computer store with the laptop. I'm hoping it'll be smooth sailing henceforth. Also I'd dug out my old CD-ROM with Microsoft Office, an older version but one that will still work, and that I like. No more fighting with LibreOffice, which is okay for some basic word processing tasks but works weird on others.

And I'll be able to have lots of fonts again, and have them render (i.e., not look pixelated and blurry and just BAD). I'll be able to do my graphic stuff again. To compute the way I like to compute. The extra RAM (memory) I had put in awhile back will be to my advantage in terms of speed to prevent freezes too, I hope.

At least that's the plan. Cross your fingers I'm right about that! 🤞

Tillie, good job getting yours too!

My mom tried to get hers earlier this week, but decided there were too many people.

My arm is a little sore this morning. I hope yours is ok.

I'm sorry to hear about the car crash.

Good job getting everything on your grocery list! We are still having trouble getting things here. Nothing that creates too much of a problem so far. I do need to order toilet paper again because we are getting low and don't want to run out before we get some!

Mr.🐈 says hi to everyone.

Hi Subclinical
We cross posted.

WAY TO GO! getting your flu shot today ! :D

So happy school is going well and you even found time to do things at home.
Fantastic! :D

Glad the pot of food is yummy.
Those conglomerations are usually the best, especially as leftovers.

Tillie, and everybody,

I'm reading and thinking about you, but swamped with school - which us actually going really well.

Got my flu shot today and made chocolate ice cream mix and ran the dishwasher and the washing machine - load is in the dryer.

Even though I spent two hours commuting and taught from 9:30 to 4:30 with breaks for lunch and my planning period.

Dh made dinner, but we'll be back to my pot of food tomorrow (too dry for stew, too wet for casserole, but yummy!)

Well I did it and have the smilie face band aide to prove it.

It was outside, drive up.
A lady handed me a clipboard & pen with the consent form to fill out.
Told me to keep the pen.
I was the very first one in line!!! :D
Then a very nice nurse with dark purple hair stabbed me.
So I would be at the right height I stepped out of the car and also requested my right arm be used.

One less thing to worry about now.
Steven never gets the flu shot and he also catches everything that goes around.

Afterward I was driving to the grocery store and there was a terrible 3 car crash at the intersection.
This is highway 50...
At least 6 cop cars, several ambulances.
A policeman was directing traffic.

Went grocery shopping and got most everything on my list. :D

Mornin...

Glad I had the comforter on the bed, got cold over night.

The flu shot place is at the senior center and I am hoping it will be done outdoors.
It will go on from 4pm to 5:30pm.
I will leave home at about 3pm to get there early and get it over with.
There won't be any huge crowds of younger people there, just us old folks.
So I feel it will be safer than the usual flu shot give-away with a huge herd of younger people with all their kids.

Toying with the idea of getting groceries on the way home.
I need more fresh produce.

Good Evening Anybody

Laid low today but did get the grass watered and cut & filed my finger nails and took a shower.
Twinkles spent the afternoon outside laying in the sticks & pickers getting them all in his fur.
Quarter to 9:00pm and I am all ready to go to sleep. :)

Good Afternoon
Taking it slow and easy today.
Tired. Slept poorly.
It has been getting down into the 40s about 3am and I have been getting cold.
Got out a comforter today so that should fix that problem.
But still into the 80s during the day so it's really perfect temperature wise.
Smoke is still an issue.

Anxious about going to get my flu shot tomorrow afternoon.
But I won't allow anything to stop me.

Hi Subclinical
You sure did a LOT today!!! :D

Yum! coffee icecream.
I don't like drinking coffee but I do really like coffee icecream.

Interested in your "rabbit thing" ;)

Well can't feel very sorry for a drunk who broke his arm.
But that's heartbreaking about the young woman with 2 kids and another on the way.
(((((HUGS))))) for them

Hope your Mom rests her eyes and that makes the headaches go away.
Screen time can really do a number on us.

Good luck and best wishes with all your school related things. :)

WTG! for a big pot of dinner.
Been thinking of making myself a big pot of chili.

I am so happy you are going back to school with a clean bill of health.
You need this and the kids need you (((HUG)))

The spiders bite and make painful weepy sores.
There are many different kinds and every bite I get really has a bad effect on me.
Plus there are black widows and brown recluse in the yard hoard.
I do enjoy the Wolf spiders and even have had some as free range house pets.
They are trainable and do eat the bugs.
Boris knew never to get on the couch.
He would come stand in front of me and beg for the table lamp to be turned on to attract his supper.
But he did eat Dave, a smaller Wolf spider pet.

When I went out to water the garden plants I pulled the hose around and hosed off the car.
Got the layers of dust & fallen leaves off but it still needs a proper washing, maybe next Spring?

Tillie, are the spiders poisonous? Do they bite you? I like the spiders in my house because they eat the other things. Mr. kitty hunts them though.

I got my feed in my truck bubble.

Got a lot of other things done today too - so happy to be going back to school!

Lesson plans ready for two out if three classes - a few details to think out on the third in the morning.

Put up seven pints of tomato sauce, froze coffee ice cream and cooked up some vanilla to freeze tomorrow.

Two loads of laundry (One put away) and two loads of dishes.

Made a big pot of dinner we can eat for a couple more nights.

Also did a rabbit thing that I'll tell you about after I see how it turns out.

Also talked with my mom and my youngest Dd. Not great news there though. Mom has been having really bad headaches. She wonders if it's too much screen time and letter writing. My self destructive uncle is in the hospital again. (Got drunk and broke his arm) and from Dd - her best friend moved back with her parents and got a restraining order against her future ex husband. He hit her. She's 23. Two little ones and pregnant again. No job.

I can't fix any of that, but I can get a good night of sleep and be a good teacher.

WTG! CriticalMass! :D
YEA! for getting all the donations donated and freeing up your vehicle and spaces!!!

Spiders are getting cold outside at night and are wanting to come inside.
So today I resprayed "bug barrier" all around.
This brand of spray makes me cough & sneeze & nose run & choke
so I wore one of my washable cloth face masks while I sprayed.
Still coughed & wheezed and had a runny nose but not nearly as bad as without the mask.

Will be glad when this spray jug is empty and I will never buy this one again.
The other more expensive brand lasted longer on surfaces and I was not allergic to it.

Good Morning Everybody

WHAT A RELIEF! Subclinical :D

You would be perfectly safe getting feed that way.
In your own personal little bubble inside the truck.
Not being in close proximity to anybody or touching anything.

Good luck with all your plans. :D

The smoke had been moderate for quite some time but has now been getting worse a little every day.
The sunrise was a mean nasty orange sun rising on a nasty brown day.
Cough cough cough 😟

Good morning all!

Nice to keep up with what you are doing.

Tatoulia, I am very proud of you for walking and using the post cards!

CM, way to go on donating the donations.

Tillie, take it easy. I really don't understand why the senior center can't figure out how to get you health care. It is just insane.

I am hoping they post my results today! (If I am positive, they will call me instead)

I need to get plans together for the week both ways.

I am also out of feed. The feed store guy and his employees don't wear masks, so I have been doing Pay by phone with curbside pick up. I am assuming that if I go in the truck so that I am completely closed in, that will be ok.

Good Evening Everybody

Thinking of you Subclinical (((HUG)))

Hi Tatoulia
That's so wonderful you are using up your postcards and cards like they were intended to be used. :D
It will be fun choosing a small number of cards when you don't have the stash to fall back on.
Every year they come out with new beautiful designs.
I still like the Christmas cards with the glittery flocking on the snow.

Keep up with the clearing out by using what you have.

That's what I like about buying candles at the thrift shop.
I enjoy burning them so they come & go.
Never were meant to be kept forever.

Now that it's not too hot any more I hope you can keep walking around the town.
You were always so much happier/more centered when walking regularly.

Tillie, I haven't heard of a roll of stamps in years! And then to learn they have postcard stamps in rolls! So fantastic!

Yes I walked to mom's, then to Whole Foods, then to BF's, then back home, then to Talbots (for a return) and then to office, to Post Office, to Roche Brothers grocery in downtown, then Macys, then subway to mom's then home again. Honestly the only thing keeping me from walking home is that I would've reached my house first, and I knew I'd never be able to muster the strength to pass it by and go to mom's. What a great walking day I had! Yesterday was great too but not like today. I miss being downtown.

So I definitely have enough stamps for a while. These will get me through Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas. And all the random cards in between. Although, for Christmas it's my mission to get rid of the remaining Christmas cards that I have. I did donate a bunch last year, just to get rid of them.

I need to keep clearing out.

Boy! you sure got around today! :D
YEA! for wearing sneakers.
Makes no sense wearing out your feet & legs wearing out indoor shoes.

WTG! getting rolls of postcard stamps!
I thought they would only come in sheets.
Great you have a system to keep the table clear and yet get the cards ready to send out.

I got dishes washed and the kitchen wiped up.

CM great work! And you aren't taking a thing for yourself! I am so proud of your mindset! Don't change a thing. You are doing great. No need to write down goals. Keep up the good work!

Oh Tillie I am so sorry about your intense, unfair pain. I am so sorry. And I'm ashamed of Medicaid's stance. I wish I could help you. I am just so sorry.

SubC sending you some love!

I walked down to the main post office today in south station. It's open 7 days a week from 6AM to 12Midnight. Used to be 24 hours. I walked by my building and stopped in to say hello to the guard. When I asked for postcard stamps, the guy asked me if I wanted rolls or sheets. Rolls! I got overly excited. I bought 2 rolls of 100. Pretty nice.

I am sending postcards once a week now. I sit down and write them all at once and send out. Much more efficient for me and keeps everything off my dining table.

Afterward I went to the grocery store and stopped in Macy's for a minute. I ended up taking the subway home because I'd picked up some groceries for mom. I saw mom for a minute then came home to take off my clothes and shower and wash my hair. I also ran errands earlier in the day including picking up lunch for BF and dropping off cat food for mom. So I've been to mom's twice, BF's once, and downtown and back. I wore sneakers. And my legs feel so happy.

Good Morning Everyone

Hi CriticalMass
YEA!!! for the sale being over & done with!
Fantastic the leftovers will all be going to donation!

You have mentioned a lot of your goals and plans for if/when all the stars align this month.
Wishing you great success for whatever you tackle. :)

Yep, 2020. We live in interesting and ever changing times.

Hi Tatoulia
WTG! for loading up on juice for "Justin Case".
Very happy you have been walking. :D

My one and only goal is to get better.
I have not been telling the whole truth as to my physical condition.
I have been doing a few little necessary tasks and been paying dearly for doing so.
Always have pain and am exhausted and weak from it.
It's due to all the cysts in my lower abdomen. They tend to twist and sometimes burst.
This latest one affected my lower spine and there is another one now acting up in my lower left quadrant.
Been suffering 30 years with this and it's why I could not hold a job, too many sick days.
But since I could be "cured" with surgery medicade denies me but I can't get surgery without any help.
Catch 22.
If I go to ER they would only treat the one acting up at that time and hound me the rest of my life to make payment which I can't do since I am too sickly to work.

Quick hop by 🐇

Happy Feast of St. Francis - give your furry friends an extra hug or two! 🐈🐐🐓🐕

SubC, praying for negative test results and for any symptoms, whatever they are, to just be GONE. 🙏 Will make a point to check in frequently for news how things come out. Hugs! 💞

We finished the bunny garage sale. Exhausting, but we made enough for several spays and neuters. And I did not take back a single thing. My van is loaded with donations. Roommate's new car has some in it that will add to mine because I can easily do it in one run.

I have several To Do list items coming up. You ladies know I shy away from formal challenge goals because my life & brain are too unpredictable and if I don't meet the goals I feel like I failed, and get embarrassed. My shame baggage from a lifetime of procrastination. 😛

But I know what I want to accomplish, I just don't want to jinx it by writing it down! 😁 Then when it is done I get bragging rights, which works better as a motivator for me. 😉

Later! Time to get ready for church. Found out yesterday we are getting ANOTHER different priest! Because our current one is needed for a large parish that had a sudden vacancy when theirs passed away. Well, it's 2020. Always something unexpected. It'll be okay.

Tillie, I needed to be scared into it! What a bother. I could've had my bathroom painted by now!

Tillie what is your one goal for October? I should go read back and find out!

SubC thank you for letting me know how you are doing. I wanted to mention how much I appreciated your letting me now about what your days at school look like.

I did two very small loads of laundry today, in addition to my errands earlier in the day. Tonight BF and I ran a few errands and I loaded upon juice. I want to have a good supply, in case I get sick or if Boston's rate continues to climb.

I had a good day. All the walking felt good. It was at prepandemic levels.

Good Afternoon Everyone

Hi Subclinical
Good news there are no other symptoms.
Hoping you are having a relaxed and pleasant Saturday (((HUG)))

Hi Tatoulia
Sorry I scared you away posting 6 Badgers and one Skunk. :(

WAY TO GO! for ordering the paint!!!! :D

Good luck finding what Miss Kitty needs.
My little girl one day decided she would no longer squat.
So I measured her hind end and did the math as to how high/tall a plastic storage bin filled with litter would need to be.
The plastic bin I got was translucent and it worked beautifully, she could see it was unoccupied before jumping in.

Pease do walk in the safer more scenic spots.
The sidewalk café areas sound dreadful, too crowded with no masks. :(

Good October goals you have :D
I have only one goal right now.
Subclinical had her school to concentrate on. CriticalMass has all her plans.

Done nothing today so far.
I will go out and water the garden plants and Lilacs now.
Lots of white Chrysanthemum blooms and the rust color blooms are looking very promising.

Oh my goodness. Not the posts I wanted to see.

SubC I am praying for you and your family. I am so sorry you are going through this worry and upset and rash. Please keep us posted when you can. I am greatly concerned and sending you much love.

Cm I am hoping that you are doing better with migraines. I can see how the lights must've triggered you. How awful

Tillie, I am grateful you are getting some rest in. I am worried about your back. Very happy you can get the proper flu shot next week. My mother gets hers next week too. I haven't decided when I'll get mine.

I've been avoiding everyone since I hadn't ordered the bathroom paint. I ordered it today. It's called Light Blue (but not really blue) on the Farrow + Ball website. I'll need two coats of their primer and two coats of the paint. My bathroom is a dark red right now. I don't know why I picked that.

Kitty isn't doing the best with her litter box. She goes in it but the "results" are going everywhere. I bought her one of those big covered ones today. I have yet to wash it and see if it's something she'll use.

Going to run errands withBF in a while. We haven't done it because the battery in his car was dead. We tried jumping it with not a ton of success. He had battery replaced today.

I've done some walking today. I am trying desperately to to eat ice cream.

Boston's COVID rates are going up. I can. See why. Everywhere I walked today were people eating out and enjoying the beautiful weather. But it's still too much. Too crowded. The tables are on either side of the sidewalk and then us pedestrians are walking down the sidewalk and it is just too close for comfort. I'm getting ready to hunker down for the fall and winter. I'll walk at night when there are fewer people and I'll stick to the areas like the Christian Science Center, which is just so beautiful.

October Goals:

Reduce my stuff. Get my bathroom painted. Pull it together.
