HI Bonnie and MayMay :D

I am sitting here resting. Just ate some lunch and soon I will shower & shampoo my hair.

The house smells really good :) I used lavender scented Pinesol to clean it today.

After I shower I have one more load of laundry to do but otherwise I am all done.
Planning on making myself some tacos for dinner tonight and also need to juice lemons & make more lemonade.

Good luck with all your own tasks! :)

OMG! I'm so excited about tonight! "HOARDERS" on A&E is finally back! I'm so happy! I'm finally out of my " "HOARDERS" Hiatis Funk." I've been dancing around all day and singing, " "HOARDERS" is back on tv. Yay!" When I came into work today singing, my boss thought I lost my mind. lol. :)

Hey. :D

Sheryl, actually if I move to NYC I don't plan on driving. I plan on mostly either taking the subway or taking taxis. :)

Tillie, I will never forget the first time I watched an episode of "HOARDERS." I remember when I saw what the hoarded house looked like on tv it just made me want to clean like crazy. :) I love "HOARDERS" though. It's actually my number 1 favorite show. :) I love it even more than I love "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." :)

Good afternoon,

He was doing stuff with the internet wirings last night and then I could not get online any more.
Then this morning he got up very early, showered and left.
Recently returned, 7 hours later and I made him undo whatever the heck he did to screw up the internet connection.
He can rot for all I care. (very angry emoticon face).

Today I cleaned the fridge
did 2 loads of laundry
removed a baby dove from Marty's mouth, it flew off
locked ALL cats up in the house

Monday I must clean the house really well.
There is no way that I can sit down and watch "HOARDERS" when my areas of the house are not spic&span.
Hoping that they have the episode online about 10:00 pm here like they did last season. :D

Hi MayMay!

One of our cats was a lobster two years ago! :) Last year the orange guy and the baby were leopards. I used the leopard pattern to make Santa outfits for Christmas.

I am about 70 minutes upstate from NYC.

NYC is a fun place to visit, but to move there? I hope you are OK with sticker-shock :) The thought of paying several hundred dollars a month to park my car or "purchasing" real property in the form of one parking space is something I cannot wrap my mind around :)

Hey Sheryl. :D

Yeah I've seen some pretty funny dog costumes. :) I think the funniest costume I've ever seen was a lobster costume. It had the legs and the pinchers hanging off the side of it. It was hilarious. :)

Are you from NYC? I love NYC. I want to move there one day. :)

@Tillie - how did his major decluttering go this weekend? :)

Sheryl

A tornado touched down in Brooklyn & Queens, yesterday (A tornado in NYC - how cool - Well, cool because no one was injured or lost a home).

@Tillie - Yum! :) I love (warm) soft molasses cookies. Halloween; yes! I got decorations for my dad this week, and going to put mine out the end of September.

The boys love to get dressed, and the baby always wears a shirt or sweater. I got the baby two sweaters, a sweatshirt, rain jacket, and booties for his fall gear. The orange guy knows you have to put on clothes to go for a ride and will bring me a cat shirt when he wants to go for a ride in the car. Costumes to my cats are no different than getting dressed :) The princess tried to remove both my arms when I attempted to put a tutu on her. She dresses in fur - her fur.

@MayMay - costumes are pretty easy to sew. You can always purchase an already made costume, and depending on your budget, the sporting goods stores have some funny things that you can fashion onto your pets (i.e., tree).

Today - went grocery shopping at 5:30 a.m. (no lines, store to myself).

Cleaned the fridge, one cat box (3 cats, 2 boxes - yes, princess has her own box), vacuumed, dusted, changed out the dining room linens to fall linens and working on the curtains :) Going to start cupcakes in a bit, then read a book.

The list for today was (is):

-Morning maintenance (make bed, clean bathroom, wash cat water bowls and refill);
-Clean out fridge & wipe down (inside and out);
-Grocery Shopping;
-Put groceries away, toss out any bags and other shopping trash;
-Soak cat box;
-Check e-mail;
-Vacuum (while cat box is soaking);
-Dust (while cat box is soaking);
-Dry cat box & fill with pine litter - return to the correct spot;
-Change out dining room linens;
-Load washer, set to delicate for summer linens;
-Writing on the message board :)

NEXT UP!:
-Dry and put summer linens away
-Cupcakes
-Relax with a book - with the cats
-Start dinner around 3pm
-Dinner ~6pm
-Feed cats (after dinner)

Hey. :D

I can't wait until Halloween! I plan on getting doggie costumes for Matt and Cory. I'm not sure what I'm going to dress them up as though. I'm thinking about dressing them up as pumpkins. Hopefully I'll be able to find the right size for them. I'd make the costumes myself, but I'm not that talented. :)

Hi :D

Sheryl I made soft molasses cookies.
Your poor kitties! You make them wear humiliating clothes???!!! My sweet little darling kitties would shread my skin if I did that. LOL

I went grocery shopping today. Got some food. :)
Bought more flour, looks like we may get more rain & I want to make sure I have cookie baking supplies.
Bought 2 frozen pizzas and I'm having pizza and root beer for dinner. Been a long time since I had any junk food. :p

Stopped by the thrift shop and donated 3 bags and an air purifier.
Bought a package of window insulating plastic. I use a lot of that every Autumn.
Got 18 votive candles for 1.00. I burn candles almost every day. They are within my sight on proper surfaces in proper containers away from the cats so please don't worry.

Tomorrow will be a major "trying to get him to declutter" day. Wish me luck. ;)

Hope everybody had a good day. :D

Cookies? Tillie - I *love* cookies!:) What kind of cookies did you bake?

Did the laundry today, stopped by the office (weather issues), picked up fabric for Halloween (cat) costumes (that time of year, again!), and picked up party stuff for the baby's first birthday.

Yesterday, I did the holiday dinner menus and shopping lists (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

Good Afternoon!

Today I got up and got busy doing all the little things that needed to be done before we start the weekend.

I don't like having any household chores for me on the weekend since I spend most of my time hoping to motivate my hoarder to fill trash cans & bags.

The changing of the seasons is a great time to fill a bag or two for charity donation.
We start gathering up to put away all our summer things and clothes and shoes.
Ask yourself if this is something you will be using next summer or is it something you didn't even really use this summer.
I have already filled two bags. :D

Have a great day everybody!

Summer is officially over for me. Last night the MTV Video Music Awards aired with a lot of really awesome performances. I still have the song that Taylor Swift performed last night stuck in my head. :) So far today I have helped my dad close the swimming pool for the season. I just finished taking a break and watching an old episode of Wife Swap on lifetime. It was definitely a must watch episode. One of the families on the episode had 29 animals; they had 8 dogs, a bunch of snakes and lizards, and they even had a SKUNK. And the other family liked to keep their house really clean and they hate animals. So yeah it was definitely a must watch episode. Right now I am getting ready to throw my bedding in the washer and then I'm going to do some other chores around the house. :)

Good morning :)

My To-Do list for today is very short.
Take care of daily cat needs
Work on my quilt
Think of something to cook
Then clean up the kitchen

Woke up to a light rain this morning. :D
We have been in drought conditions for too long now and hope that this signals the end of the dry season.
On rainy days my favorite thing to do is bake cookies. So, I have all the ingredients for soft molasses cookies in the pantry. :D

Have a great day!

I will be on the following week and I love the guy I was sent to help. Stay tuned for some really moving episodes that I hope will motivate others :)

"How come, no matter how much I do, it never seems good enough?"

This happens when the dialogue in our heads is giving us negative feedback.
We hear critical comments about our performances.
These are usually things we heard as a child from a parent or teacher and things we hear/heard from negative/critical "friends" or spouses.

What we need to do is change that inner dialogue to positive reinforcements.
It takes time but you can learn to tune out that negaitve and replace it yourself.

Say "I did a good job cleaning today".
"I am a good person".
"I deserve to have a clean, safe home".

Tell yourself any positive compliments you think fit the situation and drown out all and any negativity.

(((hugs))) Tillie

@Petrina - Wow, eight bags is a lot of stuff :) Go Petrina! Yes, the third floor thing would upset me, too. But you did it!

Sorry about the letter :( Tears are both cleansing and temporary. The more internal stuff you declutter, the more this external decluttering is going to work! :)

You wrote, in part, "How come, no matter how much I do, it never seems good enough?" <==I don't understand. I think you are doing a wonderful job. Is this (never seems good enough) how you feel or did someone say something to you?

Tossed 8 garbage bags, a space heater, a joy stick circa 2000, and a weight-lifting belt (for the poor garbage man). Six trips. I hate living on the third floor.

Came across a love letter from the ex-husband. I shut down for about an hour. Had a good cry. Had some lunch, and went on with the rest of my day.

How come, no matter how much I do, it never seems good enough?

Hey Sheryl. :)

I went to Michigan for a few days to visit with some relatives and I couldn't take Matt and Cory with, so they had to stay at the kennel.

I was really messy when I was younger. Except my mess was all over my room. I always left my clothes and toys on the floor. Sometimes my dad would go in and clean my room when I wasn't around and then when I would get home he would always give me a lecture about keeping my room clean. I always hated when he did that because when I went to look for something I could never find it.

Great job with finding stuff to donate. :) I've always liked cleaning out my closet and finding stuff to donate. Even when I was a little kid I liked it. :)

Arm-twisting progress: got child to give up five more books! The deal is, for every five books off the shelf and downloaded into the Nook, one new book can also be downloaded.

5 off the shelf (out the door, in the car)
5 downloaded into Nook
1 new book downloaded into Nook

Why were Matt and Cory in the Kennel?

Anyway, hoard alert! Found hoard in bottom of child's closet. Shoes piled on top of clothing and ... ugh!

We just had one of those, "Why is that on the floor of closet?" chats :) Closet has been recovered. Floor found and vacuumed. Stuff put where it belongs. All dresser drawers were emptied and the stuff "folded" and put with like clothing items.

A huge pile for donations sits at the front door.

Hey Tillie. :) yeah Matt and Cory are definitely glad to be home. When I went to pick them up they were really excited to see me. The lady at the kenal told me that they did really well there. She actually told me that when they were in the play area playing with their toys they would actually put their toys away once they were done playing with them. I laughed and told her that I taught them to do that but I wasn't sure if they would do it while they were at the kenal because normally when they put their toys away at home I always give them a treat right after they do it.

I just got back from Michigan. First thing I'm going to do is unpack. Then I'm going to go take a shower. Then around 4:00p.m. I'm going to go pick up Matt and Cory from the kenal. Yay! :) when I was in Michigan I bought a whole bunch of new dog toys for them. I felt so bad for leaving them at the kenal that I decided that they deserve some new toys. :)

Gosh Tillie I wish I had your self control! I always make lists and I always end up with far more things afterward. Nothing I can't use/ eat but still far more than I really needed. The best I can do is eat and drink lots of fluids before I shop so I don't end up buying excessive amounts of junk food or crazy amounts of beverages. I still over buy but I can usually cram everything into my fridge/ cabinets when I take the extra precautions.
hmmm, I suppose that will be something else for me to work on one of these days :)
Oh and thank you so much again for that crock pot recipe! Eating real food that is easy and cooks itself is a big change, but I'm liking it!

4. find a box to place all the items I will be giving over to my mother-in-law for her to sell
5. tidy up my office

7. work on some homework

Good morning! :)

My To-Do list for today...

Tidy up the house, water in the yard and get ready for the 3 day weekend.

This weekend I will be trying to encourage him to concentrate on clearing one do-able area.
He tends to fritter about here&there, scattered like and never completing anything.
I will suggest areas to work in but he gets to decide where he will go. I will agree to him working in any area except inside his garage.
In there he tends to hyper-focus on churning, slowly sorting through tiny objects.
Plus he has a computer set up in there and I often find him wasting hours playing games. :(

Have a great day every body! :D
