MayMay, Dogs are not like children and grounding doesn't work the same on them.
Have you checked into obedience training? Once you are taught how to get your dogs to mind you they will be much better behaved out in public.
My hoarder used to socialize puppies so that they could be trained to be guide dogs for the blind. He trained me in ways to train my dog better. :)

Right now I am getting ready to take Matt for a walk. I normally take both Matt and Cory for a walk together, but right now Cory is grounded. So that means that there will be, no walks and no car rides for him until Thursday. I had to ground Cory because a couple of days ago he ran off in petsmart while I was looking at dog costumes for him and Matt.

Good afternoon everybody :)
I've just been hanging out around the house so far today.
Have much greater plans for tomorrow when the hoarder in my life will be home.
My To-Do list for today is to clean up the kitchen. Made myself french toast this morning. :D Do a general tidying up around here Then spend my free time doing pleasant little projects that make me happy while I watch spooky movies on Netflix.
Have a great day everybody! ;)

..well, I now have three jobs -one FT & 2 PT. That in addition to the house (kids, cats) and my dad and... need sleep; a vacation would be nice. I haven't been on chat, message boards, and unless I can get you on my FB (via phone) you won't hear from me. The third job is because my dad is in debt and broke (then he was robbed last week) and I'm supporting (and cleaning) two households.

Hi is this Gaby? :) I'm so sorry to hear about your condition. :( But when you post you need to put your name in the name box, so people won't get confused. :) The name box is the very first box under the reply settings. It is a skinny box and it says Name right next to it on the left. :)

Hey Cory,
Yesterday while I was at petsmart I had Cory and Matt with me. I always take them to petsmart with me because they are allowed to go inside the store. Normally both of them are really patient dogs and they always stick by my side when they are in the store. But for some reason yesterday Cory decided to run off while I was looking at dog costumes. I didn't even realize that he was gone until Matt barked and ran off. When matt ran off I kept following him and yelling Cory's name. When I looked down at Matt I noticed that he was sniffing the floor as he was walking down all the isles, and I suddenly realized that he was looking for Cory. When Matt stopped in the isle where all the fish were that was when I noticed Cory sitting there looking at all fish in the fish tanks. So after I went to get Cory I decided to put Matt's pumpkin costume back and get the Superman costume for him instead. :)

Good morning Gaby :D
Since we can't physically do everything in one day we can keep our sights on getting at least one thing accomplished every day.
Keeping up with the daily maintenance is a lot easier if we never neglect things like washing dishes or clothes. Once a bathroom is decluttered and cleaned it takes only a few minutes a day to tidy it up.
The most important thing I have been trying to get my hoarder to understand is to QUIT bringing home more stuff. He has finally quit dumpster diving and I am doing my best to keep him from impulse buying but he buys stuff when I am not standing beside him at the stores.
Gaby, you keep making your shopping lists and stick to them.
Wonderful to see you posting here and please stick around.

wow tillie plese do not send him this way myhusband was a truck driver and i hace still his junk to get rid of i hate to see it show up there,i have a tv in every room in this house i am blessed with tem although a ig flat screen would be nice for me i too am in nee of eye ware my husband and nine boys felt if tv in every room i would not mis any thing well i can olnly watch one at a time lol. i do not have that cable set up any more nor do i have a husband or kids kids all grew up husband is past now i find it so hard to get rid of things my self so it is a chore just to get up in the mornig and start a new day it is near 12 mid now and i am just really getting started on my kitch mess i made. i may even do a load of clothes for the week. another chore or another day go through my clothes i have lost nearlly 200lb in the past two years and most of wht i have does not fit me anymore. i went to the docto he said it was all from stress. o lowering my stress is my upper most project getting this house in order is following that. i ver away from sales any more. only buying what is on my list of needs. now if it is on sale i am right there you can bet on it so your hubby found a good deal i supose but yes two tvs in one romm is a bit much i am not making any suggestion of getting rid of him but keeping him busy is a chore in it self. for sure if he has a hidding place. just this last week my son tore down one of them sheds in the back yard it took me a long time to empty it out i got this hair one day opened the doors and put that four letter word on a sign if you want it take it. of course after i scummed though a bitlow and behold another working tv and computer in there i donated it to the local church for a fundraiser project they have going.i informed them i had the shed also bless thier hearts they cleaned up a bit for me i am hoping they will come back and just maybe get another shed emptied or maybe mow the yard for me i am unable to do a lot of things. i would love to get my yard winter ready. then i will continue on my house inside i have been able to make a trail so far to get around with my walker.i i see your hubby any where i chase him away i am in CA so hardly think it would be him. but after battling this for so long i can almost pick out a person just wanting things just for the thrill of it. in this small town ther is not a lot to do but collect stuff i can not even count the people i been to their home that are worst than my self but i can understnd their plite and embassasment of hoarding. one neighbor has some thiry or more cats and ten or more dogs so stuff is not a big thought here i too have my own share of the pot.

Hi! :)
This might sound like a really weird question, but are you the person who posted under the name "Cory" in another topic called "Possible Animal Hoarder" last night? I was just wondering because I was reading your last 3 posts on here and I was really confused because you were using Tillie's name in your posts and you used both Tillie's name and my name in your first post on here. But you sound like you might be the person that posted as "Cory" in that topic last night. By asking this question I was hoping that it might clear up some of my confusion. :)

I just got back from petsmart, where I bought Cory and Matt's doggie costumes for Halloween. Cory is going to be a pumpkin and Matt is going to be Superman. I was originally thinking about dressing them both up as pumpkins for Halloween, but after an incident occurred while we were at petsmart today I decided that I want to dress Matt up as Superman instead.

Good morning :)
Today I will be watering everything. Since it is so much cooler here I don't need to water very often and I don't have to water early in the morning to avoid the heat. :D
Another nice thing about it being cooler is that I don't have to constantly be watching out for snakes. Soon they will all be hibernating but then the deer mice population will increase.
Here is a link to two surveys. One is for hoarders to answer and one is for people who live with a hoarder.
I did the one for people who live with a hoarder over two weeks ago.
It has left me feeling very down and pessimistic. :(

Good morning! :D
Woke up early and was able to watch the new episode of HOARDERS online.
It is very chilly here lately, so today I plan to make a huge pot of chili.
Since I will be messing up the kitchen I may as well bake some pumpkin pies too.
Planning to freeze the excess so I will have good home cooking all ready to eat.
Problem I have is that I learned how to cook for a large family and now cooking only for myself I still only know how to make large batches of my favorite recipes. Fortunately, I have a deep freeze. :)
Have a great day everybody!

I just got back from the mall, where I bought my Halloween costume. When I was on my way back from the mall I ended up stopping at a red light right behind a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Truck. I thought it was pretty cool because I see them all the time on HOARDERS but I've never actually seen one while driving on road. :)

Hi MayMay :)
My neighbors pay me to watch their pets when they are away over night or a few days. In the winter they take their pets and their huge RV and travel to warmer climates and I take care of their house.
He is filling those trash cans but with LEAVES and not any clutter/trash/garbage. :(

Captain's log Star date 07102012
As the last surviving human on this starship it is my duty to carry on. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.
Today I will continue to feed and care for my neighbor's 2 dogs and 3 cats along with all the cats that reside here.
It has gotten cold over night and the days are now cooler too. So today I will put the evaporative cooler to bed for the winter.
I have lined up 6 large trash cans and the big wheelie bin in the drive way. My plan is to encourage him to fill all of them and get them out to the road for trash pick up tomorrow morning. Wish me luck, I need it.

I really do not understand!

Good morning,
Today I am getting ready for the weekend. On the weekends I try to get my hoarder to declutter in the yard. We have a rather large amount of property that he has totally cluttered. Or... get him to declutter in the 3 car carport.
He has a 4 car 2 story garage that is floor to rafters full. In the garage he has set up tiny "forts" where he hides and plays on his computer. My main goal is to keep him out of the garage because he never really declutters in there, he just churns or hides and plays.
He was very very bad this week. He can never pass up a sale. :( He bought me a very large flat screen tv. I already had a proper tv. What I need is new eye glasses and a dental check up and cleaning. The house desperately needs some repairs and maintenance.
Oh Well...
Have a great day everyone. :)

OK Another episode of "What Is Tillie Doing Today".
When I am in the mood to cook I like to prepare several different things all at the same time. Then I portion them out, wrap and freeze them. This way I have quick and easy meals ready to eat and they are not those frozen prepered commercial things.
So, off to the kitchen to cook and as I am in there any way, clean up my mess.
Have a great day Earthlings. Tillie signing off.

Tillie, I'm glad Marty is getting better. :)
Today my dad and I bought our plane tickets and made hotel reservations for our trip to Seattle in November. We will be in Seattle for 2 weeks. The first week that we are there, we will be helping my aunt and uncle clean out my aunt's parent's level 5 hoarded home. I will be leading the cleanup and my dad will be there to make sure that my uncle doesn't go crazy during the cleanup. The second week that we are in Seattle will be more like a vacation. I'm starting to get really nervous about the cleanup but I can't wait to be out of Ohio for a couple of weeks. :)

Hello everybody.
Been having a rough go of it here. Marty-Cat was exposed to a toxin. Do not know "what where how". He is an inside outside cat and does leave the yard, often. My neighbor drove us to the Veterinarian clinic. The Veterinarian was able to save Marty but any long term damage is still unknown.
Marty is home now, on a special prescription diet to keep his organs from being stressed.
I am a miserable wretch. :(

EUREKA!! I finally found a way to get my husband to help me with some of our much neglected landscaping. As always, he said he'd be out to help me work on the yard and then proceeded to sit in his office on the computer & watching football for hours - but today the sound of his chainsaw running brought him tearing ass out of the house mighty quick! [I was trimming trees] Oh, I knew I'd catch hell for touching his tools - but it worked! Tomorrow I'll see what else I can get into.... Hehehe ;0)

Hey Cory,
Yeah keeping everyone sane and calm is my BIGGEST worry. Especially with my uncle. I think I'm actually more worried about him and what he might do at the cleanup then the actual hoarders. I can totally picture him getting so mad at my aunt's parents that he punches a whole in the wall and then drives off and leaves the cleanup. Luckily my dad will be there with me. So if my uncle has a total meltdown then my dad might be able to calm him down. All I know is that whether the cleanup goes good or bad, it will definitely be a life changing experience for me.
