Tillie,
Matt and Dr. Green are ok. I have been in contact with them, but they are just busy filming and probably exhausted at night. Hope everyone else is doing ok. For all of you outside of the Sandy zone, have a very Happy Halloween and stay safe!

Omg! I just looked out my window and realized that it is now snowing outside. This is crazy. I can't believe it is snowing on Halloween.

Hey Tillie,

Yeah on Monday while the storm was going on, I was definitely worrying about Matt Paxton; because I know that he is from Virginia, so he was very close to where the storm was.

Happy Halloween!

Thanks to the weather my plans for Halloween are all screwed up now. :(

I was supposed to take my 2 nephews trick or treating tonight but because of the rain and the really cold weather it looks like that won't be happening now. I'm so sad because I was really looking forward to taking Matt and Cory with me so that I could walk them around in their Halloween costumes.

My friends and I are still going to be holding a seance tonight in my room; so that we can try and connect with some spirits. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Doing some laundry right now.
Today I will go through my summer dresses and let go of some that have seen better days.

Not much else on my To-Do list :D

This is the one holiday I ever do, so a kind of free & fun day here.

Drive slow today, kids will be out
Trick or Treating.

Have a GREAT Pumpkin day everybody! :D

I am concerned about Matt and Melva.
Matt was able to post once on the A&E messageboard yesterday and Dr. Green never did come on.

Looking at the news coverage last night showed just how devastating that storm was.

I have a friend who lives in NY state, south of NY city and I have not heard from him.

Then there is Sheryl and Darci and so many others.

I have a prayer candle burning for them all. (((hugs)))

Haha! Matt and Cory have done that before; but instead of leaving blue paw prints all over the carpet, they left muddy paw prints. :)

He did put a coat of blue paint on the back porch floor when he was finished with the car.

Then Marty (the cat) ran across the porch.
I tried to grab him to wash his feet but he got past me and ran through the house, leaving little blue foot prints all over the carpet.

Finally caught him and washed his feet with Dawn dish washing soap.
Then I washed up all the blue foot prints he left.

Well...

That car was not moved today.

With all the other vehicles, campers & general clutter there is no place for him to put it.

He said he will move it to the road before the guy comes.

Moving a car.....

He decided that the engine compartment needed to be vacuumed out.
It is full of everything.
Leaves, spider webs, wasp nests, etc.
The battery cables need to be cleaned so he can put in another battery.

I haven't asked if the fluid levels are alright.
Another thing about this car is it is all electric doors, windows and such.
It is big and heavy and there is no way he can push it anywhere.

The gas is very old & full of moisture.
He is putting air into the tires.

He just got it started, doesn't sound very good & the smoke is terrible.

It's an old Ford Crown Victoria, ugly thing.

Now lets see if he can move this puppy out of the way.

I hope he will be able to get everything done by then. :)

UPDATE

He realized that he can't do all that needs to be done in just a few hours.

The batteries on those vehicles are dead and will not take a charge.
The dirt all over the septic tank is hard to dig because it's all saturated, wet & heavy. Not to mention the smell.
Then there is that path that must be cleared through the carport.

He has called and rescheduled for Saturday.
Then he started doing other stuff that has nothing to do with achieving the goal.

So, anyways,
I am making a banana cake.
Nathan loves my banana cake with my chocolate mocha frosting and I will freeze this cake for the next time he visits. :D

Hey Tillie,

Yeah last night while I was in the middle of watching the newest episode of HOARDERS we suddenly lost power; so I missed the last half of the show. I was so mad when we lost it because right before we lost power, Cory chalmers was just about to come on the TV. So when we lost power I was like "NOOOOO!!! This cannot be happening right now!" and then I accidentally stubbed my toe when I went to get the flash light. Lol. So last night was definitely not a good night for me. Luckily we have power right now. It came back on earlier this morning.

That storm has made all message boards look like ghost towns. Even over at A&E.

I am bored and getting very uncomfortable sitting here in bed.

My plan is to stick it out till 12 noon Pacific time.
Then I will get up, do the bed, get cleaned up & dressed.
Wash up the cat's dishes.
Lay out some paper and get busy carving my pumpkin :D

I will keep you posted if any positive progress happens here.

Hey Tillie,

I'm glad your husband is finally clearing a path so that the septic tank guys can get to the septic tank. :)

Haha! I love that you told your husband that you wanted to hand him over to Cory. :D because if I was married and my husband was a hoarder, then I would totally call Cory Chalmers and ask him if he could help my husband. :D

I am sitting here in my bed drinking tea and petting cats.

He is out there trying to charge up and move derelict vehicles.
Also trying to clear a wide enough path through the carport and at the same time digging up all the dirt that covers the septic tank.

He procrastinates.
Should have done all this years ago.

When the septic tank guy gets here (hopefully sometime today) we will find out if the tank just needs maintenance, but I think we will have to totally replace the entire system.

You can't be putting off maintenance for years and still expect things to work properly.

My plan for today is to just sit here and keep staring at the wall. :D

I think my decision to hand him over to Cory and wash my hands of this whole situation scared him into action. ;)

Earlier today I took down and checked the video camera that I had set up in my room to try and catch any sort of paranormal activity that I thought might have been happening in my room. When I checked the camera this morning it did not show any sort of paranormal activity from last night. :(

Even though there was not a lot of activity in my room over the past few nights, my friends and I are still going to hold a seance on halloween to try and connect with any possible spirits. :)

Hi Sally :D

How about getting that hallway clear?

We need to always keep our pathways and exits clear.
If something should happen we need to be able to get out without tripping on things and if emergency people need to come in they need clear paths too.

Since I don't know how much stuff is there or what the stuff is I will try my best to help you and please feel free to ask me any specific questions you may have. :)

Get some trash bags for any trash or broken items.
Some boxes, baskets or bags to put stuff in that goes in other rooms.
Also having bags or boxes ready for anything you plan to donate.

Start at one end and bag/box up everything in front of you in a 12 inch area.
Then do the next 12 inches.
Keep at it, taking breaks, until you are at the other end of the hallway.

When you have finished for the day take the trash outside.
Set the other items in the rooms where they belong.
Once the hall is clear, sweep, mop or vacuum it.

Put on some music while you work. :D
These tasks may take you hours or days to complete but after every session stop and look at all you have accomplished and take pride in a job well done.

YEA! WTG! Sally :D

Good morning :)

I was given a huge bag of iris roots, don't know the color the flowers will be.
Put all the roots into my garden cart and went to my neighbor's house with them.
Fortunately, she wanted some and took half.
We always share extra plants with each other. :D
Now I need to find a place in my yard to plant mine and get them in the ground while the weather still permits.

My To-Do list for today...
wash & sanitize the cat's litter boxes
wash whatever laundry he has put into his hamper
water the lilac hedge
vacuum the carpet
sweep the front porch
clean the bathroom

So far on his days off this week he has painted the back porch floor with primer and watched the baseball game.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Hi Sally,
You never bother us in chat. It is wonderful when you are there. :D

OK...
Lets do that entryway.
Bag up anything that can be tossed out, newspapers, junk mail, broken stuff.
Have some boxes, bags, baskets or bins ready on hand to put things in that go in other areas of the home.
First, pick an area about 12 inches square and only concentrate on that area until it is all clear.
Then move on to another 12 inch area.
Keep doing this until that area too is all clear of any clutter.
Since I don't know how big a project this is make sure you take breaks.
When you have finished for the day take the stuff that belongs in other rooms and place the box, basket whatever into that room.
When the floor is totally clear sweep, mop or vacuum it.
If there is any type furniture in that area make sure to wipe it down.
If there is a closet in that area you can use this same method to get it straightened out too.

You CAN do this! :D
Have a great week and I would love to "see" you in chat tomorrow.

Sincerely, Tillie

Have the best time you can.
In a cabin in the mountains with your wife sounds like it will be a little heaven on earth for you.

Before the hoarding, we used to always go somewhere lovely and camp.
The beach, the Red Wood forest, Yosemite, Yellow Stone.

This morning I woke up and checked the video camera to see if there was any paranormal activity last night in my room; and the camera did not show any sort of activity. :(

Tonight is the last night that I will have the camera set up in my room; so I really hope that it will catch some really good activity tonight. It would be awesome if the camera caught something really freaky like a chair flying across my room, or my door unlocking and opening by itself, or the closet doors opening and closing by themselves. Something kind of like what happens in the movies...that would be really awesome and freaky. :)

Try to hang in there and make the most of it...without hammers!

Hello

All my plans have been trashed.
Yesterday he did not go to work.
It was a state holiday (Nevada Day) which is really the 31st. But state workers all had Friday off to make it a 3 day weekend.
Then he happened to mention that Monday is his furlough day off. Due to budget cuts all employees have to take several days off work without pay.
Then he just happened to mention that he is using one of his sick leave days on Tuesday.
They get a set number of sick days a year and any time not used is lost at the end of the year.

Anyway...
I have no idea what he will be doing all these days off.
Can't really make any plans myself because he always complains that I am in his way no matter where I am.

I will try to keep up with daily maintenance and get a few other things done too along the way.

Have the best day you possibly can and keep a positive outlook on everything you do. :D

It's almost 12:30A.M. near where I live; and I just finished giving Cory and Matt a midnight bath. :) normally I don't give them a bath in the middle of the night but they recently came in from being outside where it's all muddy from the rain from earlier today and they were filthy.

I woke up again this morning and checked the video camera in my room. The camera did not show any sort of paranormal activity but it did catch a huge bang coming from inside my closet last night. That wasn't the first time I've heard a huge bang come from inside my closet. So tonight I am going to leave my closet doors open to see if the camera can catch any sort of paranormal activity coming from inside my closet.

Good morning :)

Cats woke me up too early this morning with their arguing. :(

Today I plan to water plants/trees in the yard.

Might defrost the deep freezer today, we'll see.
It gets frosty & iced over in the summer but stays nice all winter. And right now it isn't very full.

Whatever you do today have fun doing it! :D

Yeah earlier today I had Alex Clare's song "Too Close" stuck in my head but then out of nowhere I suddenly got Silk's song "FREAK ME!" stuck in my head. I think the worst song to ever get stuck in my head is LMFAO's song "I'm Sexy and I Know It!" because that song gets stuck in my head all the time.

I feel for you. I had Hall and Oates' Your Kiss is on My List stuck in my head all last week and I don't even really like the song that much; one of my friends posted it on Facebook and it wormed it's way into my head. And then, for some reason I can't even come close to understanding, it was replaced with There's No Business Like Show Business. Thank God that one was only stuck in my head for a couple of days.

Right now my head is blissfully song-free but that won't last long, I don't think. Who know what the next one will be.

Even if I do nothing else, Thursdays are always trash, recycle and dog poop days.

My trash service picks up Friday morning so I take the trash out, and the guys who mow my lawn come on Fridays so I gather up previously picked up and bagged dog poop that's in the dog poop bucket, and the fresher "deposits" from the yard and put them in the trash. And even though they only pick up my recycle every other week, I usually take it out to the can because I'm kind of in the taking stuff out mode anyway, and the bins I use in the house are usually full by then anyway.

I will probably do some dishes and a load of laundry tonight too. Pretty standard, non-hoarder type stuff on the agenda today.

Oh well...

Just got 3 loads of laundry on the clothes line.
Got the cats all fed & watered.

Need to sweep leaves off the porches and get some more leaves off the carpet.

Planning to get out my winter coats, too cold any more for just a sweater.

Going to swap out summer curtains for the winter drapes too.

Have a great day today whatever you do. :)

I don't have that much planned for today. Right now I am getting ready to take Cory and Matt for a walk. :)
