Hey Tillie! I'm glad to see you are back. I was starting to get worried.

I haven't been here in a couple of weeks. I've been working a lot doing cookie/cracker resets at Albertsons and a few times I was the only team member to show up so I had a few 18 hour days. At least that will be good for my paycheck. Tomorrow they are sending me over 100 miles away to Buellton. I hope the others show up.
I haven't been able to do anything to clean up my mess at the house. just come home, sleep for a few hours and back to work.

I took my car to the dealership and found out my radio is toast after my neighbor clanked the jumper cables together and blew it out. $700.00 for a new one. :( So I looked at new cars/SUVs. A new one would have a factory warranty and be safer sitting up high so I can see better...but I also need 2 roofs and probably shouldn't take on a car payment. I'm getting overwhelmed with silly problems. Maybe I should tell my neighbor that he blew out my radio but he was just trying to help me so I didn't say anything.

Why are simple nothing things so hard for me? I remember when I had REAL problems. Maybe the nonstop working got to me...can't think anymore.

Then there's my old saying... "When things get really bad or crazy, go out and buy a new car...it makes you feel much better"... lol.. at least I still have my sense of humor.

Hi Dianne :)

Good luck with the goat trails today!

Remember that slow & steady gets it done.
Start with the goal of clearing a small area about one foot square.
This way you will be able to see good results quickly.

Seeing good results will be motivating for you to do another square. And so on. :D

You can even sit in a chair and get to whatever you can reach. This is a good way to rest a bit while you work.

I am here cheering you on! :D

Good Morning everybody,

Well afternoon really, I haven't changed the clocks. I have the weekend at home as son-in-law is with granddaughter for the weekend.

Yesterday I totally vegged out. The back and forth of two households took its toll.

So today will be maintenance. Then there are a couple of goat trails that are really getting on my nerves. My goal is to clear 2 areas, one in familyroom, one in my bedroom.

Ug but I feel lazy today.

It is later than I thought! :(

Daylight savings time is the pits.

Remember that tonight's chat is at 5pm PST.

Springing forward is always worst than Falling back.
Wish they would stop this silly nonsense.

Good morning :)

Saturday!
I have no plans for today.
Hoping my Hoarder will tackle the project we discussed.

The front yard up close to the house is my area where I have my garden & lawn.
Between this area and the road is another area.
The area that you first see when approaching our property.
He has three trucks parked & abandoned there.
Weeds and nasty little trees all growing up around them. Some trees are actually growing up through the engine compartments.
The wind has blown tumbleweeds into all this mess too. The wasps love to nest in the vehicles and dry rotting foliage.

He said he would clean it up. He has been saying that for years now.

Maybe this weekend he will actually do it.

Why am I always such an optimist?

TTYL :)

So far the only thing that I have been eating today is tootsie pops. :)

So far today I have had 20 tootsie pops; and right now I'm eating my 21st one. :)

I have no idea why, but for some reason I have been really obsessed with tootsie pops lately. :)

Good morning :)

Still dark, cloudy, snowy type of day here.

My plan for today...
There is this small area in "The Garage" where I keep things that belong stored in a garage.

The hoarder in my life has piled things up in front of this area making it impossible to get to my stuff.

I am going to be needing this stuff I have stored out there. Things that I need to work around the garden with.

Today I am going to suit up and go in there and try to free my things from this area.
There is nowhere else to keep yard and garden things.

This is the best time of year to enter "The Garage" because the snakes are still hibernating and the black widow spiders are not active and the only critters I will have to face are the deer mice.

I will wear a face mask and strip down and shower right afterward.

Wish me luck & send out a search party if you don't hear back from me by sun down. :D

Today I have to pack for my trip to Houston. I am leaving tomorrow afternoon. :)

Then later on today I am going to take Matt and Cory to my boyfriend's house; where we will be spending the night. And then Matt and Cory are going to stay there while I'm in Houston. :)

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Because I have no idea...

I tried to find out by licking a tootsie pop while my boyfriend counted how many times I have licked it; but then my boyfriend lost count. So I just decided to go ahead and bite into it. :)

Plus my tongue was starting to get tired. Lol. :)

Tillie what a great idea to leave those leaves thru the winter as ground protection! And congrats on the 2 hour rake workout! Your garden must be so beautiful. What a relaxing place to enjoy your accomplishments. :)

MayMay how cool that Matt and Corey are GSDs! Aren't they just amazing you with their intelligence? Really good that you can take them to work too. And congratulations to you. Raising German Shepherds is no easy feat. I wish you many years of health and companionship!

Yesterday wore me out with my tasks and the tasks with my granddaughter at her house.

So for me today I only have planned to do my maintenance work.
And prep for the snow ~ cat litter, shovel, ice scraper in truck. Crank up heat in house and fill jugs of water. When we lose electricity we lose water too as we are on a well.

Take care everybody.

I had a GREAT cardio workout today.
Spent two full hours raking!
In Autumn we leave most of the leaves in the yard.
They cover the plants and help keep them from freezing to death during Winter.
Today I got the rest of them all raked out of my areas. :D

The Daffodils, Iris, Day Lilys, Grape Hyacinth and Rhubarb are all starting to poke their leaves up through the dirt.

Good morning Dianne & MayMay :)

All my plans for today will be put off until tomorrow.
He is home on his unpaid furlough day.
So no reason for me to do the weekly house cleaning with him underfoot.

Thinking about going outside and seeing what I want to do there.
The sun is shining today and the next storm is due in tomorrow.

The trash service changed our pick up day from Monday to Wednesday.
Maybe I can get him to fill all the trash cans!
Yeah right lol :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Dianne,

Both Matt and Cory are also german shepherds. And I'm also allowed to take them to work with me. :)

I work at a bar but my boss lets me bring Matt and Cory to work with me because everyone loves them so much and they are very well behaved. :)

I don't take them to work with me everyday though. I mostly only take them to work with me on the weekends. :)

And when I do take them to work with me they mostly hangout behind the bar with me while I'm working. :)

Hi Tillie,

Thank you so much for good thoughts for grandson. I just love him to pieces. :)

One of the reasons I quit my job years ago was that my animals' care at home needed more attention. I was working at a kennel/emergency vet. I thought, I was putting so much time into other people's animals which I dearly loved (and I could take my German Shepherds to work with me) but my babies at home deserved as much or more. I also left to help my daughter with the premie twins who came home hooked to wires everywhere. Hit by drunk driver. That news story from New York is tragically familiar to us. :(

Cleaning the hoard gets neglected because animals care comes first. It comes before my care too which isn't so good. The cats love the hoard because they can play jungle kitties and have lots of hiding places. We rotate the little dogs and the big dogs in and out (3 well fenced acres) and their areas inside are kept clean and clear. They navigate the goat trails everywhere else very well.

What keeps me from adding more is that I want to outlive them. All except 4 cats should be gone within 10 years. If I die sooner money and homes are lined up. Although my vet gives me 50% off expenses are still crazy. In the past couple years I've turned down requests to accept more because all the ones here now are a good balance and as they age I don't want to stress them. One of the Shepherds is considered dangerous to smaller animals so we have a solid system to keep him with his brother or people only.

So today's chores are daily maintainence which includes washing floors in kitchen, breakfast room, laundryroom and dog room.
Clean deck (also known as poop deck). :)
Multiple scooping of litter boxes throughout the day (daughter will do this when I am gone).
Quick brushing for everyone.
Food and meds 2x am and pm.
Exercise time for cats, supervised runs for dogs in backyard.
Collect people laundry to take to granddaughter's house for wash tonight.
Collect some bags of papers/old mail to sort and trash later tonight.
Post office to send cards to grandson and daughter in hospital.
Pick up granddaughter from school.

I'm actually liking this schedule with the back and forth between 2 houses. The little bit of pressure to get it all done is motivating.

Hope everyone has a good day. :)

Hi Dianne :)
Very happy to hear your Grandson is doing well and am keeping him in my thoughts for a speedy and uneventful complete recovery. (((hugs)))

You sure have a lot of animal tasks!
Makes my two litter boxes, four water bowls, four kibble bowls and dozen blankets/beds seem like a walk in the park. :D

By posting our plans here we become accountable to who ever reads and sometimes that is all it takes for us to make sure to complete our tasks. :)

Sorry you can't come to chat :(

Tillie I like reading your daily check-ins letting us know your plans. I'll try that and see if it helps motivate me.

Today, Sunday, I have a few more hours at home than I will during the week.
So I loaded the truck for a run to the dump tomorrow.
I brushed out the 6 little dogs and trimmed nails.
I filled food bins for dogs and cats.
I still need to clean, sanitize and refill my litter boxes, 7 of them. That's a bit of a job as I do multiple layers of 2 types of litter and baking soda.
I have to do 2 loads of animal beds and 1 load of people laundry.
I would like to get some stickers together for my granddaughter and I to make cards for her brother tomorrow. If I can't dig them out that's ok.
Then I have almost an hour to decompress as I drive back to her house. My son-in-law leaves again tomorrow morning on a business trip. My grandson Jakey came thru the surgery well. He needs to be kept straight and still. He has seen Ronald McDonald and therapy dogs and hopefully will begin bending therapy this week.

I can't do online chat on their computer. You guys take good care. :)

Winter returned over night.
Today is dark & cloudy & cold & wet. :(

He bought me a red rose bush and I was planning to plant it today. Oh Well!

I always worry when he brings me gifts.
Makes me wonder what he bought for himself. How big and it heavy it must be for me to get something nice like a rose bush.

Today my plan is to scrub sanitize and refill the two cat litter boxes.
Clean the kitchen.

Then find something fun to do. :D

LOL.

As a future "extreme cleaner" I suggest you poke yourself in the nose next time. I have a relatively clean hoard, something I am quite proud of really, :-) I don't hoard trash, animals and their feces and rotting food, but that day could come, there but for the grace of god go I, as they say. But you will, certainly, need your eyes, so be careful. I poke myself in the eye with some frequency ... sometimes I can even manage to put my glasses on without poking myself in the eye. It hurts, and then there's the temporary blindness and all the tearing.

Better to poke yourself in the nose next time, I think.

OUCH!!!!!

I just accidentally poked myself in the eye.

Luckily I can still see out of it though. :)

As a future extreme cleaner, it would be really bad if I went blind. Because if I went blind I wouldn't be able to see what I was cleaning. Lol. :)

I stripped his bed and washed everything.

MayMay, come here today and clean my hoarder's bedroom.
It really stinks and you can smell it even with the door kept closed.
But be careful because he gets very angry when he discovers that somebody has put clean bedding on his bed and gathered up and washed all his dirty clothing!
That's why I'm not going to do it.

Good morning :)

Another lovely day here.
Have three loads of laundry drying out on the clothes line.

Need to figure out what I want to eat then cook it.
Afterward I will clean the kitchen.

Yesterday evening I was standing at the window admiring how nicely my garden area was coming along with all the raking and pruning I have been doing.
Then a Falcon (Merlin) flew in and perched on a tree branch not 7 feet away from my face!
She sat there a full five minutes fluffing her feathers and preening before she saw her dinner fly by and took off after him.

That is what I love most about living here.
All the beautiful wildlife. :D

OMG! I just found out about the shark attack that happened in New Zealand yesterday! :o

In May I will be going to Hawaii for 3 weeks. And one of the things that I planned on doing while I'm there, is to go snorkeling in the ocean.

But now I don't think I want to go snorkeling when I'm in Hawaii anymore. Because I don't want to get attacked by a shark!

Hi everybody,

Sorry I missed the last two chats. My daughter, son-in-law and grandson (Jakey just turned 6) left for Minnesota on Sunday. Jakey had a 6 hour spinal surgery yesterday to help with CP. I am taking care of my grandaughter Anna (Jakey's twin sister) in their home.

He'll be in the hospital for 6 weeks with daily therapy and another 3 months of therapy 5 days a week when he comes home.

So my great plan is to get Anna to school, get back here, treat cleaning my hoard as a job and get back to pick her up and do the evening routine and spend the night there. Her Dad will be home on a varying schedule since his job requires him to travel a lot this time of year.

My daughter Laura will need to take on more responsibility here while I'm gone.

Today is off to a good start. Bright sunshine, nice temperature and thankfully I had a good night's sleep.

Tillie I see you're back and look forward to getting to know you! :)

take care all ~~ Dianne

Me, Matt, and Cory just got woken up by the weirdest noise.

We woke up to what sounded like someone strumming my guitar. At first I thought that it was just my head playing tricks on me or something. But once I saw Cory and Matt react to it, that was when I realized that the noise I heard was real.

It was so CREEPY!

Good morning :)

Just as it was warming up nicely yesterday the wind started blowing. That wind was extremely cold. So I didn't get to go outside.

Going to try again today.

He took today off from work because he has to take care of a speeding ticket and not having proof of insurance in the car when he was pulled over.
