Just checking in. I haven't been here since Aug 1st and tried to read most posts. CONGRATS to everyone!! You all seem to be doing great and keeping the momentum going. What an awesome group you all are, giving support and encouragement to everyone, and helping each other get through our issues.
My test date is looming over my head and I'm not ready. I have so much more studying to do and just can't do it. Life has been crappy lately. Long story short... On Thursday, without warning, my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. Since then I've done nothing but cry and sleep. I'm in major depression and can't concentrate on anything. He is not expected to live more than a few weeks. I am in shock that someone can go from feeling okay, and then a week later be told you only have a few weeks to live. I called work today and told them I needed a few days off to cope. Tomorrow my brother is having a party at his house to say his good-byes to family and friends. He is still feeling somewhat okay, and with the help of painkillers, he said he wants to do this now. With all this going on, it's too late to re-schedule my exam so I am just going to forfeit the fee I paid and schedule another date. I just don't know when.
My house has gone more downhill in the past 10 days and I really don't care. But this experience has given me more resolve to get things done once I recover emotionally. I talked to my husband last night about the need to get our affairs in order. And my need to get the house de-cluttered. I just want to live peacefully after all this is over, and not be surrounded by unnecessary crap. So, I will be back posting as soon as I can get through all this. Please don't give up on me!!

My at home daughter was iffy about new beds because it meant we have to do major clear out in the bedrooms. But when I was out today she got so much done! We saw her floor for the first time in years maybe? I didn't even ask what she tossed, I'm just excited she was motivated.
I was kind of iffy on it too because I get so tense when I have to let people in the house. And this would really be in ~ all the way to our bedrooms. But having a deadline, like the salesperson for the water treatment, the actual installation, the washer repair guy, has made me get off my butt more. And I would dearly love to get a good night's sleep without being so achy in the morning.
I decided not to have my brother help me clear out. I just can't get work done with other people in here. This week showed me that. So although I really appreciated his support I have to do the bulk of this on my own. When it gets to getting out heavy things that I have already made a decision on, like rugs, then he and my nephew could do that. But just for making decisions and clearing ~ if it's my stuff it's gotta be me.

Hi, all. I was up all night and am just getting up now. Yawn.
Mare, I think I understand how hard it is for you to go somewhere, especially alone, so I'm proud of you!
Karl, I'm happy to hear how well your party and inspection have gone! I like your perseverance. Maybe I'll poke around and see if I can find anything on Google about your bathroom tasks. I like to research.
Ditto to Diane! I know you sometimes feely alone but you aren't: we are here for you in computerland! [waving]
Dianne, so glad to see you posting.
Hugs all around.

Karl, excellent work. It's also so cool to have relaxed dinner parties and play board games. You do balance life well. :)
Tillie I love movies too but after my VHS machine broke down never did dvd's. Mostly we watch free stuff or I just leave the oldies on (Turner network I think). I sure hope your hoarder doesn't mess up with the electrical and water stuff!
Today I did a few errands and maintained. But mostly it's a free day. My married daughter was out of town last week so I was at her house a few hours getting the dryer vent cleaned. That's the one where I had to get starlings out twice. It went so well I made an appt for the guys to do my dryer vent too.
ALL day Wednesday was the water treatment system getting put it. 8 hours of work. I was so stressed I stayed on the computer and played games all day. Big waste of time but it kept me focused. When the guys tried to explain to me how it all worked all I wanted to do was cry. I thought for a minute if I just concentrate on what they're saying instead of how incompetent and stupid I feel I bet I could get it.
So when they asked if I had any questions I said, "Actually yeah. Could you go over the whole thing again and I'll repeat it to make sure I understand." They said no problem. Did I get it? Not all of it but I was proud I made the effort instead of being a baby.
On Friday the washing machine got fixed!!!!! Major, major happy dance on that one!!!
Afraid this is getting so long I'm going to lose it. I'll finish in another post.....

YEA! Karl! WTG! :D There are some good strong products on the market to remove mildew and hard water build up. And bleach works to kill mildew and whiten/brighten the gray stain left behind. Where mildew is a constant problem, spraying or applying a little bleach to the prone areas weekly helps keep it in check One way to remove hard water stains from a toilet is... Turn off the water to the toilet then dump in a bucket of water to make the water level as low as possible. Then place paper towels saturated soppy wet with vinegar over the inside of the bowl. Leave this in place for a good long time. Remove the paper towels, don't flush them. Turn the water back on, fill the bowl with water then use a pumace stone to scour the now softened water marks. You can buy pumace stones at the grocery store found where the toilet cleaning supplies are.
Remember every body, to NEVER mix any chemicals or commercially prepared cleaning products. Make sure to rinse all previous chemicals off before applying anything new. Even organic things like vinegar.
Hi MayMay :) bet you are as relaxed as noodles. ;)
Hi Mare :) Thank you. Right now I am watching one of my Bluray movies the new prequil of "The Thing". I own about 200 DVDs & Bluray movies. We also have Netflix and I watch a LOT of stuff from that. :D The local pawn shop sells movies for 1 to 2 dollars a piece and you can sell it back 2 for 1 so that is a good deal too and you never end up with too many movies laying around. :D
He decided that the kitchen faucet was worn out and went and bought a new one. I am waiting for him to install it now.

Inspection is done -- the landlords were OK with the maintenance rooms and the hallway and closet, but they said more work needed to be done in the bathroom; some of the crevices still have gunk that they say is mildew. There were also some hard-water stains in the toilet. I'll have to try out some new cleansers, or maybe hire a cleaning crew this time.
I've got extra time for the next (final?) inspection, but I'll need to finish up the bathroom and also the two most cluttered rooms in the house. Fifteen minutes at a time...

Gosh Tillie... hang in there. If you want to chat just let me know I will be in and out the rest of the day and night.
I am planning to go through some bags today... I am not feeling that motivated but perhaps I will once I get started.
The room doesn't look like I have made a dent in it but I know I have gone through several boxes already. I need to move things around a bit and put them in the order I want but maybe I will just grab them however they are.
Feeling tired but if I move around that may improve... I snoozed all morning, then took the dog out. Going to make some coffee and get going, watching a movie as I work, too, Tillie Are you watching movies on TV or do you have them?

OMG! It's the 10th already! :O
Good morning :) Where does the time go? What am I doing today? I have absolutely no idea. The cats are eating their breakfast. Guess I should get dressed. He has lots of plans and stuff to do. About three years ago the phone company came through, dug up my garden area and put in fiber optic cables to the house. They never hooked them up. Friday my hoarder scheduled for them to be hooked up so he could have faster internet speed. They need a power source and want to connect to the circuit in his room but my hoarder says that one is already over loaded with all his computer stuff, TV and other electronics in his bedroom. So he is planning to do some major electrical wiring this weekend. I'm scared. He also promised to fix that leak under the kitchen sink that he "fixed" several times before. I can't do anything around here because he always complains that I'm getting in his way. So maybe I will just sit on the couch and watch movies.
WAY TO GO Karl! Good luck with the inspection. :D

I'm so glad. It was really fun planning everything with you I almost felt like I was there! Thank you for the chat last night, too. Between you and Sally (thank you Sally!) I had a lot of company and good conversation all night.
I hope you do make it a regular thing, hosting dinners and games at your house. And I hope the inspection goes well for you to today, do keep us informed.
I am just getting up and its fairly early for me but I slept well. I plan to get back to tackling my boxes and bags today... ughughugh! I can see a little progress but it seems like slow going.
I got a package in the mail yesterday - 2 books, one is Buried in Treasure and it looks really great... will start reading it today.

It went quite well! We socialized as people arrived (and those who'd seen the place before were impressed at the improvement). Around 7pm I moved to kitchen duty, and when the last guest arrived around 7:45, I served the food. It was a little bit cramped with five people at the small table, but it worked out. After everybody had finished dessert, we moved back to the living room and played a game; everyone enjoyed that, too.
I ended up using some of my bedroom as stash space for stuff that still needs a "home" location. That's not good. I think I'll leave it there until after the inspection, and then make a decision.

Three of the guests aren't going to make the early arrival, so I figured I should phone the 4th one and tell her she might as well delay, too. Then I got caught up in multi-tasking, and suddenly noticed the time! She was already on her way when I called, and it wasn't worth going back, but she said she had a couple of other things she could do along the way.
I still have some stuff in the living room that needs to go back into the linen closet; I'll do that next.

Hello everyone! I enjoy reading what everyone is doing and finding similarities hehehe. I watched Project Runway last night!
Love the link, Tillie, thank you.
I posted more about what I am doing in the Depression where as it had a lot to do with that and other mood stuff.
I went to the doctor today and it went really well and I was so proud of myself for going, and especially for driving myself with no one with me.
I cleaned the kitchen today and put draino in the tub which is stopped up for some reason, I hope it unclogs good grief what an unpleasant situation. If not I will ask my son-in-law to take a look at it or my plumber son if he comes to town anytime soon.
Took care of the dog as usual, he hates it when I leave him here alone and is always so excited to see me come home! Too funny.
I have still been fighting fatigue and general malaise but am hoping to get better soon, it usually comes in 3 or 4 day spurts. Still trying to do SOMEthing every time I get up even if its just to find a piece of yard trash to throw away and count for the August Challenge, so fun.
I vacuumed yesterday and did the kitchen floor during a 15 minute buddy system with Karl, I think that was Wednesday early morning I am not sure if I already posted about that it was so good to get that done.
This evening/tonight I am watching Hoarders, several episodes will be on maybe I will see Cory. He stopped in for the chat again for just a few minutes yesterday and left us some encouraging words and hurrahs for accomplishments, he was busy with office work.
Tally Ho and Happy Trails!

I think dinner party and inspection on the same weekend is less stressful than the sum of their parts; the theory is that I only have to clean once.
Bad day yesterday. I went grocery shopping for the final items for the party, but I managed to misplace my shopping list just before going out the door (I later found I'd accidentally combined it with the bit of trash I'd been holding in the same hand), so I had to go by memory. Then the store was out of two of the things I'd planned on buying. After I got home, I was feeling down and I spent hours in the youtube rat hole instead of cleaning. I decided to go with Jell-O for the salad course, and I remembered to prepare it before going to bed so that it could set overnight.
I'll make at least an appearance for the Friday chat (which starts in 15m), but I'm going to make a second try at the missing grocery items first, so I'll be late arriving.

Hi Karl :) WTG! on all your maintenance and getting ready for guests. Yes, I did suggest the blankets under the mattress storage. ;) Great idea for storing the 3D glasses! :D
Hi Kara :) Have a wonderful time!
Hi Barb :) So wonderful that you are having your teeth fixed! :D

Hi MayMay :)
Hi Roxie :) WAY TO GO! for getting groceries. :D
Hi Dianne :) Thank you ;D
Hi to anyone I missed and to those who read hear but don't post too.
My To-Dos for today... Water stuff outside. Tidy up inside. Get ready for the weekend when my hoarder will be here. Maybe, just maybe he will do something positive around here. Maybe he will really fix the leak under the kitchen sink. Maybe I am just fooling myself.
TGIF! :D

Diane, I so admire not just the hoard clean-up that you do but actual repair work too. There's such a sense of accomplishment with a job well done especially when you are the one who's done it.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am definitely not so kind to myself. Stressful couple of days but will tell about that later.
Roxie, no to having my brother back. More on that later too. Stay cool, September will be here soon.
Karl, props to you for having the confidence to have a dinner party while still dealing with landlord inspection. That would be WAY over my stress level. Your environment and social skills are in great shape!
Tillie, your ability to deal with the stressful situations your hoarder causes is off the charts strong! For years my utilities only got paid when they were turned off. The sick feelings I have now when something gets screwed up send me into emotional lock-down. And that's with having the control over my situation. If I didn't at least have the option to control(or not) the situation it would be so much harder. I want your strength girl!
p.s. your menu plan for guests made me salivate! Looking forward to trying your family's favorite veggie/jello dish.
I finally got myself reasonably cleaned up and did the grocery shopping. Due to recent vertigo attacks, I decided this time to use the electric card so I could ride instead of walk. That helped a lot. Then I took a few minutes break between each trip to the house from the car with groceries. It took awhile and the outdoor cats were awaiting anything exciting that might come their way (eventually did). I got most everything put away except some dry goods, which I'll put away tomorrow, I guess.
I walked down the driveway and got the mail and Sunday's paper (yes, left there since Sunday). Found I had a neighbor's mail, too, and had to hoof down the drive and find someone who knew that neighbor. Aargh.
Watched Project Runway (yea!) and had a roast beef sandwhich for dinner (good and quick). At the grocery they had again the small containers of English Toffee ice cream I love. Had some of that, too.
Still too &^$)Y)*& hot so the wash up earlier is all undone.
Tomorrow I plan on running a load of laundry, putting away the rest of the dry groceries, maybe more.

Hello hello hello everybody! :)
Have had no internet all day today. I used to handle all the finances, pay all bills, budget out all expenses. Never had any late payments or added on fees. But my hoarder didn't like that he could not just buy anything he wanted at the drop of a hat. That we had to budget in the more expensive purchases and that took time and thought. So he quit depositing his pay check into the bank account and instead took his check to the casino and cashed it there. Since he was in the casino he would gamble. I could not pay the bills because there was no money in the bank account. So I took all the statements and banking stuff and dumped it all on him. He has had to deposit his pay checks and now has automatic deposit for it. Some of the bills he pays online, some he has to pay by mail or in person. He always has a huge stack of bills on his desk. He always waits till we get a call that services will be cut off if payment is not received by sundown that day.
Anyway, When he came home from work today and discovered we had no internet here all day he got back in the truck and drove into town shortly before the phone company closed for the day and paid the bill.
So, my being off line today is hoarding/squalor related, again. :(
TTYL :)

I meant to mention this earlier. Some weeks ago on the chat, I mentioned that I had a pair of red/blue 3d glasses that I don't use very often; I was wondering about a logical place to keep them. The consensus was that near the TV would be best (though I'm at least as likely to want them at the computer, or maybe even for a 3d comic book). I was worried that they're likely to get moved around even if the TV tray is their designated "home".
This week I realized that I could make a more specific home for them. My original thought was to make a pouch out of paper or cardboard, but then I realized that I could just use an envelope instead; there were several reply envelopes in recycling just from opening the day's mail. I picked one of the right size, taped it to the side of the TV set, and put the glasses inside. Perfect! Now they have an exact home, and they're not taking up space that could be used for anything else.

Congratulations to all for the recent progress; I won't go through individual names... I didn't get to bed until 5am, was a bit restless, but didn't get up until 2pm. Not fully conscious yet.
I posted the official invite saying the party would begin at 4pm, got a response from one guest suggesting that for a dinner party as opposed to a pot luck style event, I probably should have said what time dinner will be served.
I still have some (hopefully minor) maintenance decluttering to get done, and vacuum the carpet / wash the tile floors and other surfaces. My idea here is that if I end up not getting everything done by party time, it'll be good enough for friends at least, and I'll still have a bit of time to work on it more before the landlords inspect it on Saturday.

Karl, it really sounds to me like you are making good progress. For the dinner party, is there any part of it you could pick up somewhere (deli, grocery, cafe) instead of having to fix it all? Money spent but time and effort saved. And turning your mattress and saving quilts between mattresses was an excellent idea.
Barb, you have accomplished so much since I've known you. Take time to let that sink in. Maybe take photos to reward yourself and remind yourself. The plan to maintain is important and you can fit in purging/cleaning somewhere along the way, but probably at a slower pace or in smaller chunks.
MayMay, you are in Ohio, aren't you? Do you know any pro cleaners or organizers in Indiana? Also, with regard to police ridealongs, you can ask by calling the non-emergency number. Most police departments to allow it. You can also walk in and talk to the duty officer if you wish. I still want to do that. On my bucket list.
Diane, your work in that room is amazing. And yes, using that paint to better your property is just the thing to do. When you have finished a can, leave the lid off so any remaining moist paint dries up, then you can toss the cans safely. I am proud of all you have accomplished, and the fact that you are learning to stick up for yourself. Perhaps there is some kind of group in your area with like interests you could join, perhaps a gardening club?
I sit here hot a tired, and I just got up, for crying out loud! (when's the last time you heard that expression?) I must go to the grocery store yet... have to clean up first. Still reluctant to do anything at all beyond take my meds, feed the cats, brush my teeth.
Dianne, have you given thought to having your brother over again, this time to help? Or maybe all you can manage is a social visit either at home or at a coffee shop?
Mare, if you have CFS (CFIDS) or the like, yes, there are definitely days in which there is little to no energy. That is one reason the slow and steady approach is better than the enthusiastic "let's jump in" approach, although there is sometimes space for that, too. Was in Chat room for a number of hours yesterday, just in case anyone wanted to pair up and do 15 with me. Karl joined for two 15 mins sessions.
Today I awoke late and needed to get a shower at the local Salvation Army charity store (also know as Sally Anne's). I washed my hair before going away at the weekend with the girls.
Packed my clothes and charged up the batteries for camera and checked my list kit list.
Spent 2 hours people watching at local outdoor cafe before browsing a store for cheap furniture to use as a storage facility in the bedroom. Was good as I didn't give in to buying on the spot.
Now back home and ready to de-hoard with someone. Music is optional.
Away over weekend to next tuesday, so no support in chat room from me til wed at the earliest.

Good morning everyone. No lake yet Tillie, supposed to have thunderstorms every afternoon, so just here working away. Cleaned and painted the end of the little room where green toilet lived for 20 years. I pulled up the gross carpet and a board under it, and there was squalor or should I say SQUALOR there. I almost thought I could just put storage rack there then said, no better pull carpet up, and so glad I did it the right way. Carpet was full of mouse pee and droppings, not the way I want my life to be anymore. You have taught me I deserve better. This room had never been painted and was stacked with stuff, every square inch, almost to ceiling, wow, how did I let it get so bad. Took 2 and 3 coats of paint. The ceiling is just all kinds of boards, some brown, some grey, so now all white. Now have access to the water shut off, need to finish insulating those pipes today. There are two windows in that little room, I discovered. Now there is daylight, just hoard before. Hope none of you let it get this bad. Last night I painted some boards for fun. Love those empty paint cans. Think I will have the 95 gallon garbage cart full for pickup tomorrow, fun day, on a hunt for junk to fill it to brim. Going to try to match bins with lids today, no small task, they are all clean and ready to go. Scared to use them until I make clear decisions what will go in, and label so only that goes in, don't want to label any "junk" ones without lids or in poor condition will be filled with donations, which I will have plenty of!!!! Already getting warm, so hot yesterday while working, but was determined to get that section of room done. Hope all goes well for all of us today, your posts tell me how much you all want to improve, yippee.

Hey Barb, congratulations on getting to the dentist and the eye doctor! Those are BIG steps forward!
And congrats on getting the kitchen and bathroom clean! Those are two major areas that will keep you on daily track. Getting yourself clean and eating well go a long way for positive energy.
Keep up the great work!! :)

Yesterday I couldn't do much. I spent most of the morning in the dentist's chair getting one of my back teeth drilled and a temporary crown fitted. The whole left side of my face was numb and I was tired. I had not slept well the night before worrying about the procedure. It went much better than expected, but was still tiring. I could not eat solid food until 7:00 p.m. Like most of you, I do not have dental insurance. But my dentist is good about letting me pay for it in increments. I am a little anxious today. My vacation is coming to an end. I start back to work at 7:30 on Monday morning. As usual, I had overly ambitious plans for cleaning the clutter over my vacation. There is still a lot left to do. But I did get to the dentist and eye doctor. I did get the kitchen and bathroom really clean and have kept both rooms clean. I have stayed current with laundry (clothes, underwear, towels, etc. that I need for every day use) It feels great to have a clean, well-organized kitchen to prepare meals in and eat in. It feels good to be able to take a shower and brush my teeth in a clean bathroom without clothes all over the floor. My first priority is to keep those rooms clean and uncluttered. My second priority is to do all the daily and weekly tasks of laundry, cooking and cleaning, garbage removal, and vacuuming. This weekend, I will review my goals and try to set realistic expectations for maintenance and decluttering each week. There are little projects that need to be done--like caulking the shower. There are big projects that I need to hire out to a plumber, electrician and drywall specialist. But I can't hire them until there is room for them to work. All this can be overwhelming unless I break each task down into small increments. Procrastination is also a big temptation. I really like this forum. It helps me focus on the plan. It keeps me moving forward. Instead of climbing back in bed and pulling the covers over my head, I can get one thing done. Then another. Even if I only get a few things done, it feels so much better than falling backwards. I'll check back in later today and let you know what I accomplished.

Sorry for the confusion. That last post was supposed to be from me. I meant to put Kari's name in the reply box, but it ended up on the name box.

Congratulations on your progress! We celebrate with you. And congratulations on your courage and openness to plan a party and invite friends in. I envy you. I used to love having people over but haven't been able to ask anyone further than the front door for months. You give us all hope.

Enough guests have replied that I've decided that the dinner party is on. There's so much to get ready, though -- yikes.
This afternoon I dealt with more magazines, and started to deal with laundry. I stripped the bed, rotated the mattress, stored a couple of quilts between the mattress and box spring (Tillie's idea, I think? Thanks for that!), and left myself a reminder to start the laundry on getting home. I left for dinner and board games, and tossed the dirty quilt into the washer; it's in the dryer as I write this. I'm not sure if I'll try washing anything else tonight -- it's already 2am here.
Oh, I'll need to take the trash out to the curb tonight. That would be the fireplace ashes, and probably some assorted recycling -- I don't think I have any significant amount of other trash, this week.

Hi Tillie, That's cool. Yeah if I ask the guys at the fire station, if I could ever ride along with them to a call, they would probably let me. But I don't know if I could ever do a ride along with police officers; unless there was some sort of program or something that would allow me to do it. Which I don't think there is one where I live. :(
Thanks Mare, GREAT JOB TODAY! :D

I finally caught up with everything here, what a pleasure to see so many posts! So tired today, but trying to push through or it will only get worse.
So tonight I am doing something every time I get up to do anything, such as when I make coffee or let the dog out, I do a short chore of 5 - 15 minutes. I took out the trash once, need to again so I will do that next time.
Cleaning the kitchen floor, fed the dog and let him out twice so far.
If anyone comes in tonight I would be up for a chat, too... will check back to see.

How wonderful to see all of these posts and I am busily reading and catching up!
Roxie, yes it was a thrill to see Cory, he is such a kind man and so devoted to helping us all, and others of course.
Dianne it is always so great to read your detailed posts and I always feel spurred on to get rid of unneeded things while feeling alright about keeping a few sentimentals. I know what you mean when you say "creepy". Wow you did some massive stuff too.
Karl I had a hugely tired day I think it is for a combination of reasons, one being the huge high I feel when I come here but that can be draining. My initial posts and reads gave me such gratitude and excitement over finding these boards, and I over-did it but now I will even out a bit and be alright I think. I do hope you do the dinner party.
diane I am with you on feeling glad to see everyone being here and posting so much, I am behind now hahaha. Heat is hard to fight, here in NC we have been having some unseasonally cool weather which has been nice.
Wooooooooow Tillie YOU are doing fantastic and so positive with all of us, what a blessing you are!
Karl thank you for the pictures, I found the levels chart on the Insititute site and it was very helpful, I am a level 2 almost 3 but it gave me a lot of hope and more awareness.
Hahahahahaha Tillie!!! I love THE INCIDENT!!!
Kara you are doing so fantastic and I love the cleaning-to-the music idea, I could do that!
Barb you reminded me that I need to go to the dentist too... having some problems getting out of the house lately but am working on it... so difficult.
I went to see my therapist today and she was so excited for me that I have found all of you and that I am being active here and really reaping some huge rewards, thank you all so very much again.
MayMay you aare such a love!
Please forgive me if I missed anything or anyone, man this is great, all this activity.

My qualifications to do this were my education in emergency medicine and a desire to see how all the agencies worked together. There were legal forms to fill out too in case something happened to me. It was well worth the risks.

Hi Tillie, WOW! Speeding down the road in the other lane with oncoming traffic coming at you?!... A guy shooting at police for no reason?!... Sounds scary! How were you allowed to do all those ride alongs?... Was it something you did for work?... Or was it just something that you signed up to do? :)

It was more fun than anything ever! Speeding down the road in the other lane with oncoming traffic coming right at us. Idiots not pulling over even though we had the lights and sirens on. Responding to traffic accidents and other incidents. Getting calls to check out citizen's complaints. One guy called to report he had been robbed. He was soooo high on drugs it took us forever to figure out what he was robbed of. Drugs lol :D Cruising around just after dark and coming upon two men getting it on in a public park. Scary was the crazy guy that called for police help just so he could shoot some cops. :( Only the crazy guy was hurt that day. When riding with the police, every time the fire department or an ambulance was called we would respond to help out, mostly with crowd and traffic control. A call to report a dead body in a parked car. Turned out that the guy was extremely drunk and not really dead. Call to report a dead body by a fence. That guy had been dead about three days. Most of the time we just drove around town waiting to get calls and looking around for things. Pushed a stalled car out of an intersection. Stopped a street fight from progressing. Found a little kid wandering around and his mom soon showed up.
It was more fun than Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney land and the "Cops" show on TV put together. :D

Hi everyone! :D
Hi Tillie, WOW! I'm sooooo jealous of you! I've ridden in fire trucks and ambulances before; but I've never ridden in them to an actual call before. That's so cool! Oh and I definitely have to ask you this question... What was it like riding along with police officers?... Did they arrest anyone while you were with them? :)
WAY TO GO Kara! :D I love that song! :)
Hi Roxie and Barb! :)

I'd love to get the Zumba cd's so maybe I'll put that on my list. I'm not sure I could DO the program but it'd be fun to watch/hear.
Barb, I am so glad you have taken the step to go to the dentist. My ex had not been to the dentist in many years when I dragged him in. I found a kinder, older dentist who babied him along through two very long cleaning sessions to get his teeth up to par. Well worth it and he's been good with brushing and going to the dentist ever since. Never too late to get back on track with self-care.
Kara, some good suggestions have been made for where to store clothes when/if the normal place is mouldy. Maybe search online for solutions to keeping the wardrobe mould-free? Good to see you online and dancing!
Tillie, I've always wanted to do a ride-along in a police car but... I'd love to hear any stories. And the free-floating, tinkering days can sometimes be good...put your energy where it is inclined and feel good about the accomplishment after.
I did not get the litter box scooped yesterday, nor much of anything beyond brushing teeth and taking meds. It has been so hot that I look like a puppy that just got a bath (oh no!) from the sweat. Ugh. I need to go to the grocery store and I've been putting it off for days. It takes a real effort to get cleaned up enough before I go, then the whole process is so tiring and cumbersome. I want someone to shop and deliver for me!
More time fiddling with the blasted computer. I think that keeps me frazzled.
Hugs to all
Tillie

Good morning :)
Hi Diane :) I've been picturing you sitting out by the lake. Hope you get there! :D
Hi Karl :) Tuesday night chat is for hoarders and messies only. I am not allowed there. WTG! on moderating the chat session! :D I watch the time from when the poster starts their turn then at 15 minutes I say "Times up" and name the next person who's turn it now is. There are a few more posts to the poster and the poster then thanks everybody as the next poster starts to write.
Hi MayMay :) Remind me never to mention to you all the times that I have ridden as an observer with fire departments, police departments or on ambulances. ;D
Hi Kara :) Since the wardrobe is useless due to mold you need to make other arrangements to store items that need to be put away. I have a portable clothes rack to hang clothing on. Could you use something like that? Also, I have a chest of drawers where I fold my blouses, night dresses, frocks, etc. and store them in that. You can temporarily use plastic totes, stacked by one wall to store the clothing in till the mold issue is taken care of. Hard to make suggestions without being in your room with you. ;)
Hi Barb :) WAY TO GO! going to the dentist! :D Yes, beating ourselves up over things not done only makes us even more sad. Every day is a fresh new day to start over. ;)
Today I need to tidy up a little. Sweep floors & porches. Wash a few dishes & wipe the counter and stove top. As always, scoop litter boxes, put down fresh water & fill kibble bowls. Already fed them their canned food breakfast. I have a few things that need to be glued and plan to do that today. Will probably just wander around in here doing little odd jobs today. :)

I love your idea of cleaning to Zumba music! I use plastic bins to sort clothes on the bed. If I put them in piles, both dogs and the cat run through them or make beds in them getting pet hair on them so they have to be washed again. You can stack them on the floor when you are ready to go to bed..
