Hi, honey, I'm home! The trip was grueling but well worth it. Got to hang around with friends from decades ago a lot at the reunion. I felt very sad to say goodbye because with health issues and age who knows if I'll see them again?

Met a couple very cool people in Dallas as we navigated FOUR gate changes for our flight to Albuquerque, with each of us disabled in some way. The lady from Peru who married a Frenchman then settled in the States was a hoot and turned out to be 83 years old! Glad to have spent time with Clara.

I got a lot done before the trip and not so much since I came back. I was up until 3am the morning I was to fly out only to find my alarm clock not working, so I stayed up all night.

I've kept up the meds and teeth chores, and have done dishes and picking up and garbage since I got back. Now I need to get into routines again, even if I'm feeling feverish. When I arrived in Alb. at 2pm, I checked in an lay down for a nap at 3pm then woke up 18 hours later. Glad I went a day early!

Hugs to all

Tillie, so happy to hear how good you are feeling, you have really put in the work to feel so good!!!
This morning I did dishes, vacuumed, straightened up, spoke to boss on phone, changed back to smaller garbage can, called to get city bill in paper form, too hard to download statement and newsletter. A beautiful day here too, and I get to stay home until 5:45 today, so happy to have all day to fill the last week.
Tillie, remember I asked you for support with a personal issue, phone call. Well took a month but tonight I am going to dinner with person I spoke to you about. Yes, I am a nervous wreck, first dinner outing in a few years I think. Think I will go out and paint something, my stress relief.

I had yet another all-nighter for no particularly good reason, took out trash, crashed early, up early. Hoping to (finally) talk to someone today about landlord-tenant issues, though I'm not very hopeful about my options.

Employer acknowledged my invoice and is sending a check, and says we can talk about more work, but they'll expect me to be more responsive in the future. That's better than the "Go away, loser" response I was half-expecting.

Good morning everybody :)

Another beautiful Autumn day here in northern Nevada. Will be in the 70s again today.
But change is in the forecast for next week.

I have a great feeling of accomplishment for all I got done this week. :D

My plans are to kick back and enjoy the rest of this week.

Mr Hoarder has today through Sunday off from work.
Today is his furlough day, tomorrow is the official state holiday for Nevada.
October 31st. is the anniversary of when Nevada became a state.
So, he has plenty of free time to do stuff around here. lol

Of course I will take care of the cat's needs, tidy up as needed here and not neglect any messes.

Have a GREAT day whatever you need to accomplish.

(((hugs)))

Hi Diane :)
Sorry to hear about that. :(

I have a big mess of firewood in my yard. :D
"HE" is out there now starting the clean up.
Scooter loved sitting on the window sill watching the tree guys cut down the tree.
Soon as they left, all the cats were out there checking things out.

Cory's other chat test site for us

On the log in it asks for a name and also a password.
Ignore the password and just type in your name and enter.

Got the fridge all clean & shiney and did 5 loads of laundry.
I am tired and need a shower. It was a GREAT day! :D

Tillie I am so excited about your tree and your happiness today.
Right when I was celebrating how well work is going, I lost the money bag. Yesterday spent hours looking through house, garage and car, did not find. I really think I left car unlocked and it was lifted. I feel responsible and will replace the money, have made peace with it, at first I was ticked at losing it, felt guilty I am not more organized. It is done and need to move on. Good thing, made me organize some areas of house and car that became messy, just be happy about that.
Another beautiful day here, too bad have to work, good I will work and make up for money I lost!!! This morning will do dishes, did laundry yesterday, bring firewood in this morning.

Good morning everybody! :D

Wednesday.
Today's the big day!
I was wide awake at 4:00am so I decided to just get up.
Going to be another lovely day here in northern Nevada. Temps in the 70s.

I am sooooo looking forward to watching the men cut down that tree! :D

Also planning to do some laundry.
Will be taking everything out of the fridge and washing the whole thing, including the freezer compartment.

Wishing everybody a HAPPY DANCE kind of day. :D

Good morning :)

Karl, good luck saving all your emails. :)

Another lovely day here. Going to be in the 70s again. :D
My To-Dos for today...
Yesterday I sprayed the oven with oven cleaner so today I will wipe that all out.
Have the stove rings soaking.
Will lift up the stove top and wipe under there too.
Also planning to clean the range hood.
Took the oven racks and broiler pan outside yesterday and sprayed them with oven cleaner & will get those all shiney today too.

I don't cook a lot of meat and very rarely fry anything so this isn't a very dirty job but it does need to be done at least every year to keep it from becoming a hard dirty job.

Also need to water some stuff out in the yard.
I don't water after it gets cold and stays cold every day but with this nice warm Autumn weather I will keep watering once a week.

Tomorrow the tree is scheduled to come down! :D

I am so excited!

Hope all your plans go smoothly today. ;)

I've sent the invoice to my employer, and asked whether they still want me to work. I hope the answer is yes, but it wouldn't surprise me if they've decided I'm not reliable.

I just learned that my email provider is shutting down at the end of this month. I hope they provide a way to do a bulk download of the messages I was saving.

Plan for Tuesday: cash in some bottles/cans at the recycling center; also, contact Sentinel and see if they have any useful info for me.

Hi Dianne :)

WAY TO GO! on getting things done! :D

It takes a while to get used to the changes and the newly opened up spaces.
Your usual routines get all changed, items are not where they used to always be.

On important things that I need to remember I write notes to myself and line them up on the counter or coffee table where they will be seen all the time.
After I have taken care of whatever needed doing I love tearing up the note and tossing it. :D

Tillie, you do sound cheery today! :)

Diane, 31 DEGREES COLD?! OMG I don't even want to think about temps like that yet!!

How is Molly? Not being in chat I miss out on some important stuff.

Today I got my car in for body work. I've been getting very forgetful. (I swear it has something to do with all the changes here. I'm just all turned around and my mind doesn't have the familiar paths to follow.) I was backing my truck out the other day and broadsided the car. Bummer. So the estimate was less than half what I thought it would be so it's getting fixed.

I called the water people because the electrical guy may have done something that messed up the water system and I can't figure it out. Damn computers running everything again. :P

And I'm calling the washer repair again to push for action there. It's only been 6 months now. Good thing I'm not all that clean anyway.

Wrong mattresses are supposed to be replaced and delivered this Thursday or Friday.

Laura and I are working on getting the halls and staircases really clean today. I'm getting used to the open spaces now. It's not so disturbing (not sure why it was disturbing anyway) and it's nice to be able to pee at night without negotiating a maze of junk to get to the bathroom.

Good morning :)

Hi Diane :)
Have a great week at work! :D

Hi Karl :)
Thanks for helping me try to figure out what is wrong with the chatroom. :D

Hi Dianne :)
So true about horses. Very smart but I think they think they are small as kitty cats. lol :D
The quail are always here, fewer now since there was recently bird hunting season.
The Robins have all moved back into the area and are establishing their territories.
Poor babies will miss that big tree after Wednesday, but too bad. HaHa :D

Cory is having the chatroom issues looked into today.
YEA! WTG! Cory :D

Today I will be cleaning the house.
Bathroom, floors, vacuuming and LOTS of sweeping the porches and walkways because of all the leaves covering them.
I don't mind sweeping dry leaves but hate to do it when the leaves are wet.
Today they are dry. :D

This week the neighbors are having new carpet installed through out their house.
So they are busy packing up everything and moving all their furniture out of the house.
That is a LOT of work, fortunately they are not hoarders so this is do-able for them.

Lots of nice big changes happening this week on our road. :D

Hi and good morning to all you who read and didn't post here lately! :D

Thanks Dianne, I agree, all the work I did to improve my living situation, did make work more fun, think I feel less shame, so just feel happier. Today I was outside all day, raked and burned some leaves. Scraped the length of the garage roof edge, that has looked like crap for years, painted it, it looks so much better. My neighbor who lives above me, came out and appreciated the new look. Chopped kindling, raked leaves in back yard as well as front. Not sure what else I did, but worked alllll day, now have to deal with the dishes etc in here, no fun for me. hope all had good weekends

Ah Tillie, didn't you just love observing how smart he was to work those rope knots loose and then to thwart your newest actions with the wire? Lucky for us they don't know that a good swift kick to the head, or using their teeth to rip our throats out, or using their impressive strength to overwhelm us would give them the upper hand. What's happening with the wildlife in your area? Are the quails still around? I love birds but know nothing about them.

Diane, so glad you've had an enjoyable time working! All your efforts this year made that time out of the house something to enrich your life further. And your insights about buying things to deal with the mixed feelings of outside work are more proof of your progress.

Karl! hahahahahaa!!! I love stories from when we were kids! Especially the naughty, funny ones! Give us details!

I have the most fun around kids. When the parent gets home I whisper, "Grownups! Now I have to stop being silly!" Children are magical and I love entering their world. I was sitting right at 3rd base and I had so much fun with each kid who stopped there. "You've got an arm like a cannon!....Great hit!....Quick steal home!" Didn't matter which team it was. Cute faces, little ears sticking out like an elf's under the baseball cap, the fun of one getting caught up in the action and doubling up on bases before running back. They are just great!

Today is boring work, blah.

Hello everyone, so happy the tree is going away tillie. that is tough to be around a screamer, I used to be one, happy I don't yell anymore, it felt so out of control to yell, sorry you have to be at the same with a screamer.
Dianne, sounds like you had a great time.
I worked this week and next week will be the last week, will miss it, and will be happy I am done. I have had a good time, enjoyed it more this year than in previous years. Yesterday I went to a fund raiser rummage sale for troubled teens. Yep, bought some junk that were for "future craft projects", on the way to work. When I got home and had to haul the stuff in, it was obvious I bought the stuff for a reward for having to work when it was such great weather, and wanted to stay home. Today I had to deal with the stuff, very clear that I have no business bringing stuff home until I finish cleaning stuff out. Really don't want to be the person I was, want to get back on track and finish cleaning stuff out and start doing craft projects.
Today I stained several fence boards. This morning worked in bedroom 2 hours sorting stuff, went through several boxes of jewelry, and scarves. Can see progress. Watched show on OPB on replacing kitchen faucet, has leaked for 2 years, I have the new faucet, just haven't tackled it yet. Think I will wait until finish working next week, need tomorrow to have fun outside. Love the sunshine. see you in chat tomorrow

We all need fun time.
We need to get out and away from all the To-Do chores regularly.
This refreshes us physically and mentally.
This is called "Real Life" and we all need this time.
We are all so much more than the clutter and messes.
We are real people and need to experience real life pleasures.
Sure, the home work is very important and doing it without the help of a company takes a long time.
Try to remember to find time to live in the moment. ;)

Dianne,
I am so very very happy to hear how well Jakey is doing.
That is really wonderful news.

I had a horse that lived right next to me that could open the latches and would hold the gate for all the other horses to get out.
I put the horses all back, latched the gate and tied a rope around it.
He used his teeth and picked the knots out of the rope and opened the latch, letting out all the horses.
So then I took a piece of bailing wire and started to bind the gate shut.
The horse saw what I was doing and tried his best to crowd me away from the gate. :D
The wire did the trick and there was no more horse round ups.

You know how sometimes with a hoard you feel like you can't do anything fun without some level of guilt? Like I really should be working on that?

I feel like I've done so much work lately and had to wade thru so many feelings that I deserved some time being what I call a *normal* person. So I started the day by going to my 6 yr old grandson's baseball game.

First I thought baseball was only in the spring/summer. Then I thought he was in the group that has all handicapped kids from all ages like he has done in the past.

Well it turns out Jakey was in real Little League and my son-in-law is one of the coaches! I don't know why I didn't know that! Jakey's operation on his spine was so successful that not only is he out of a wheelchair and braces he can truck around those bases with the best of them. We toss the ball a lot out back and he's been wanting me to see him play but I was always *busy cleaning the house*.

Wow it was great! A mom came up to me and said, "You're Buffy's mom right? I remember you from being backstage always sewing costumes." What a small world.

So now I'm home ready to do the daily chores. Instead of being tired like I thought I feel invigorated and ready to work. Mostly today will be animal chores, cleaning, grooming, trimming nails (we all HATE that!) and a dump run. I'd like to get 2 bathrooms done too.

Yeah MayMay, they're just big babies aren't they? Gotta be with the Momma. haha

When Dakota could see he learned how to open doors and turn on faucets. Jackson can work his teeth and jaw to open crates and runs from the inside. Only a real lock can keep him in.

The K9's I used to take care of at the kennelemergency vet were like smart children. They could get out of runs, rooms and into the hospital. For fun we'd say "Find it!" and they'd tear around sniffing out the drugs. They knew it was a game with us. When their working collars were on and their human cop partners were with them it was business time.

I had a horse once who could undo her stall latch. Then she'd go to the other stalls and release the other horses. Such a rascal. Those kinds of animals need a lot of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Wow I could go on forever about intensely smart animals! I love the challenge!

Hey Dianne,
Yeah Matt and Cory are constantly jumping around, running through the house, and goofing off. They used to have this really bad habit of slamming into the bathroom door while I'm taking a shower. So now I just leave the bathroom door open, whenever I take a shower, so they can't do that anymore. But now, what they like to do is, sneak into the bathroom and walk into the tub while I'm taking a shower. LOL. :D

Tillie, your husband sounds a lot like one of my brothers before he passed away. He raged at others and people never argued back; they feared him because he could get physically violent. You're smart to lay low during those times.

How wonderful that he came out and apologized!!! And getting the old tree out will be a huge step forward. Could be he is approaching that point of change. :)

Good morning everybody :)

Looks like it is going to be another lovely Fall day here in northern Nevada.

Hi Diane :)
WOW! chopping wood and chimney cleaning!
WAY TO GO!

Hi MayMay :)

Hi Roxie :)
Hope you are having a blast at your reunion. :D

Hi Dianne :)
So wonderful that you had all that electrical work done!
Happy that the electrician is a big time dog lover too. ;)

Hi to Karl and Diane and everybody else too. :D

I've been just laying low here.
Been sleep deprived, nervous and depressed.
Hate fighting, always have. But it is the only way to get anything accomplished around here.
He loves to verbally fight with everybody.
The power company, phone company, insurance company, bank, trash service, people at his work place, store cashiers, our rural letter carrier and post office. Just to name a few.
At home he stands in the room I am in and rants and raves about all these people and companies.
No matter how many times I tell him that I don't want to hear about it any more he just won't quit.
Until last night.....
I told him to stop. Just stop it.
He flew off the handle, like he always does, had a huge melt down. Very angry at me, slamming doors, screaming, etc.
And an hour later he did something he never did before.
He came out of his room and said "I'm sorry"
He spoke in a normal tone.
Tried to say things to make it better.
I am still in shock.

Anyways, the tree guy just called me and said he will be here about 8:00am Wednesday morning to get that tree down for me. :D

My To-Dos for today...
wash my hair
clean the kitchen
do cat related tasks
sweep floor & porches (lots of fallen leaves)
a quick vacuuming of the main carpet areas.
swish & swipe the bathroom

Hope you all have a GREAT Friday. :)

I know MayMay even I thought wow that's crazy!

I call mine the Oafie Boys because since they've been babies they just go bumbling and crashing thru everything. I'm sure yours do too. Just roughhousing and being their big, goofy selves. Can you imagine 11 doing that?!

And the physical effort too. Mine have had some nasty fights when the roughhousing gets out of hand. Just like regular human boys you know when it's escalating. I've had to pull one off the other and literally wrestle and hold Dakota down. It ain't easy. You know with 11 there are going to be some pack fights trying to get a higher position. The females can be just as tough.

And if each one weighs about 100 pounds that's 1100 pounds of dogs!!!! Hauling the food alone would throw my back out for days.

I know the amount of fur my two shed so I can imagine he is no stranger to a furry house. He didn't even sneeze.

He got 90% of the work done. There's one room that I need to make some paths in so he can get to those outlets so that will be another day.

Still waiting on call about status of mattresses and washer repair.

The tree guy came by this afternoon.
We settled on 400.00 to take the huge dangerous tree down.
He said he was busy all this week but plans to stick me in sometime next week. He will call to let me know when he will be here.
My hoarder came home just as we were finishing up talking.
With this peer pressure on him now, he will get all his stuff out of the way over the next few days.
I already have someone lined up to come get all the wood. We agreed on 100.00 for the wood.

I am exhausted.
But maybe there is some good news.
He said that the tree guy will be here today sometime to look at the tree, give an estimate and schedule a day to remove it.
I am trying not to let my spirits get excited about this just in case he pulls the rug out from under me, like he has done so many times in the past.

Hi, all. Well, I am playing on the computer ("studying") and here it is the day before I leave for the reunion. Sometimes I am such a procrastinator.

Yesterday, I did get things put away from the grocery trip and clean dishes from the sink. I also brought the garbage bin up from the street and picked up the mail.

I found this charity I think is very cool. It was started by a boy for his bar mitzvah (I'm not sure what this is, maybe they have to do a project for it?). He is still only 15 and his story is inspiring. At age 5 his mom took him to a homeless shelter and his impression of kids without shoes, or having to share shoes, spurred in him a desire to do something about it. Now he has a charity he set up called Gotta Have Sole (dot org) which provides shoes to homeless kids. He's delivered thousands now. I went ahead and donated and got a personal note from him. :D

I did finally plug in my camera and uploaded pictures to my computer, then sent in a submission for the next newspaper "Adopt-a-Pet" thingee. That is a weight off my mind.

Must run today to get a supply of cat food in for my cat sitters, and do some laundry, and pack. Sweep kitchen and living room, mop kitchen, round up clean litter boxes and put them out. I'm tired just typing it. hehe

Great! My dress will definitely not be a typical wedding dress... I want the dress to be black with flames coming up from the bottom of it. I wish I could have a dress like the dress that Jennifer Lawerence wore in the first "Hunger Games" movie; the dress had real flames come out of it whenever she would twirl around in it. It was really cool. :)

Hey Roxie!

Sometimes just getting by and going is the right way to do it. Not so encumbered and getting to that different locale will feel so good.

I think your wake/sleep cycle will adjust very well once you head out that first morning. You'll be tired enough to sleep the first night and then your plans will keep you going.

That always happens to my daughter when she goes to the beach with her dad for a week. Around here she sleeps a good portion of the day and is up most of the night. But once she has that routine of beach time she's up in the mornings and has no trouble at all falling asleep at a normal time of night.

It' will be a great time with people you have wonderful memories with. Go, forget everything at home and enjoy!!

Hi, everyone. I've gotten my usual done today and started putting away a sink of dishes I did yesterday.

I was shocked to realize that it is THIS Thursday that I go on my trip to Albuquerque for a school reunion. I am not at all ready. Not at all! And I'm dragging my feet on doing anything productive to get ready. Well, I'll do probably just enough to "get by" and then just go. I'm fearful of what traveling will be now though since I have so much trouble just waking up and getting moving. We'll see. I'm inclined to blow it off but that would be a lot of money down the tubes.

Hugs

Good morning everybody! :D
Great reading all your postings.
Don't really know what happened with yesterday. Never accomplished anything. Sort of was in a fog all day long.
Been expending all my energy on trying to get him working on this dangerous tree removal project.
Yesterday afternoon he actually looked under the hood of the vehicle that's parked right next to the tree.
Progress???
I dunno :(
Today I need to water some stuff in the yard.
Do some cleaning in the house too.
But first I have to feed the cats.
They are all staring at me as I type this.
TTYL :D

MayMay, I'll be there! Tell us about your dress!

I'm down to counting hours not days to finish before bed people come. It won't all get done. A lot will have to be shoved aside.

The forced burst of dejunking has given me an idea of how long all this will take by myself. And how much effort and how much really has to go not just be shuffled.

Turns out the motor home isn't such a good idea. I figured that would turn out to be the case.

I'll try to show up for at least the beginning of the Tuesday chat, but I'll probably have to leave soon after it starts.
