Thanks Dianne and Tat, I do feel so accepted by you both today and it allows me to know it is safe to post on here. Had a lot of heavy winds and today while moving wood, realized tallest pile was leaning. I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that pile did not fall on a dog. I continued to work until all is safe. Exhausted but grateful. My OCD was in full force today. Once I started moving wood yesterday that is all I could think about, getting it all done before winter, well 90 degrees out and why was it that it all needed to be done today? Tillie always reminded me to put balance into my life. Not just do one thing and let everything else go. I work the rest of the week so need to get clothes ready for work, not bring any more wood up to deck!! Tomorrow is the biggest clinic of the season in a professional setting, so will now make sure my clothes for tomorrow are nice. Will take garbage out, and then shower and wash my hair. thanks for keeping this site going and letting me know you appreciate me being here. Ok, a bit wordy today, just happy to be back.

Last week I made my mistake (as I often do), made a heartfelt apology and decided to let it go. I was determined to stay neutral and stick to hoarding recovery from then on.
But honestly, I still feel like shit. Every day. I am so happy that Diane has been brave enough to stay. Diane, you have grown in leaps and bounds for over a year and a half. I have always admired your strength in everything but mostly in getting knocked down, wiping yourself off and getting back up. Whether it's frozen pipes or negativity in people you always keep pushing thru. We may not always have agreed but you inspire me greatly. You are foundational here and I consider you a good friend.
I miss Tillie too. We've disagreed too but I still have great respect and admiration for her and consider her a good friend as well. I understand her need to pull back for as long as she needs. But when she does come back (and that's a WHEN not an IF) I will be delighted to see her. She is foundational as well.
I'd like to add that Tat has inspired me to be more personal about this. Like I said I was going to put it behind me and not talk about it anymore. But Tat's unflagging warmth and kindness has sparked in me that need to say again I'm sorry, I miss my friends and I want them back here soon!
peace and love ~~

Diane, you are needed and loved, every bit as much as Tillie. Tillie is extremely important. I have to believe that she'll be back. And in the meantime we will make her proud by declaring that today is a new day and by applying her thoughtfulness, practicality and humor to our daily lives.
I need each and every one of you. And it's okay if any of us needs to take a break. Whoever comes or goes will be treated warmly. Please treat yourself fairly, Diane. You need to judge yourself by your good deeds. I think of you in that context--please try to do the same for yourself.

TODAY IS A NEW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only thing missing is my dear friend Tillie. Without her daily postings, I feel a big sadness. Tillie has encouraged me to keep going through so many difficult times the past year and a half. I saw her help others become better people also. She has extended kindness to people that really only wanted sympathy and not change their hoarding and shopping addiction. She has shared how to clean, how to organize how to be positive when bad things are happening. Am I forgetting anything? Hope you will post the good she has done in your life. I want you back on here Tillie!!!!

Good day. I have been out moving firewood closer to house for a few hours this morning, until just now. Still in the habit of reading the board when I take a break, and what fun it is today!!!!!! Tat would you believe I did the same thing with a sturdy box yesterday, first instinct is to use it, then for practice I squashed it like a bug. Speaking of bugs, more bugs having a shit in on only a small section of fire wood today. I felt lucky to have mostly bug free wood to move. It will be so much easier to have it closer to house this year, especially if it snows a lot and below zero again this year. Tat, after your comments last night, I had the courage to face a weeks worth of dishes, done and put away, thanks so much for being kind to me, especially reminding me we all have a "moment" once in awhile. If we were perfect, we would not be on here, that is for sure. I also see my growth to admit when I am wrong, and take steps to change behavior. Dianne my heart ached a little when I read of your dogs decline and warmed my heart to see how much you love and care for animals--cart. I can not continue to make progress without this board apparently, weeks worth of dishes, so here I am. I am doing the best I can and hope no more criticism comes my way, I still feel pretty fragile. I am one determined person to make my life better, thanks for your support.

Today is a new day!
It started with a good out loud laugh when I read Tat's shit-in typo. And again when I read how Diane is using it to bring humor into every area!
Today I need to pick up a dog from the vet and get a prescription for myself. My German Shepherd is ready for a cart (doggie wheelchair) so I need to set up a time for him to be measured.
I also need to get clean linens, blankets and towels out of storage and packed to take to the beach.
Have a great day everybody!

Today is a new day and I going to mop my kitchen floor, work and then meet a friend for dinner. Oh, and I haven't made the turkey tetrazzini so I'll get that done!
Sounds like you have some good plans, there LR! Good on following Diane 'a good advice to throw things out for practice!

LOL, diane and Tat! I guess I need better glasses, because I missed that part when I saw Tat's post yesterday. After reading how you are applying the idea to your tasks, diane, I'm going to be thinking about it and laughing all day long.
BTW, diane, as I waffled a bit yesterday about throwing away a "very sturdy box" that I had emptied (decluttered) on Saturday, I once again remembered your comments about sometimes throwing away something "just for practice." Out it went! (Thanks. Another box bites the dust!)
Today is a new day. In addition to doing a lot of laughing, some of my plans are as follows. I plan to get laundry dried and put away, attend a gathering with some friends at lunchtime today, and get some more old papers ready to be either trashed or shredded. And (inspired by this conversation), I plan to buy a new toilet brush and make good use of it.
Hugs!

Oh that's so funny! I too am going to use it.
YOU ARE WELCOME IN THIS SITE. YOU ARE NEEDED ON THIS SITE. DONT BELIEVE ANYONE WHO TELLS YOU DIFFERENTLY! You had a ''moment". That's all. And there isn't a person alive, hoarder or otherwise, that hasnt had a moment. So please, don't believe that. Plus, who am I going to have a shit-in with if not you?
Much love and don't go. Re read some posts and see how happy we are when you post. See how tired we get from reading your accomplishments. Today is a new day! For all of us!

Tat, I laughed out loud and continued to smile for the rest of the day when it crossed my mind. Like when I was stacking the oldest firewood closer to house and there were bugs, oh they are having a shit in. When I attempted to start a pile of dishes, I smiled and said do not disturb, dishes are having a shit in. You get the picture. Since last Sunday, rumor has it new people said I am not welcome on this site anymore, I decided today they were having a shit in too. Your typo put everything into perspective, with humor, thanks Tat. Without my daily posting, creeping crud has tried to take over my life again. Thanks to your kindness I know I can say what is on my mind.

Oh my goodness. A shit-in. How embarrassing! I hope you laughed, Diane. I am horrified. Should have said Shut-In but before I cleaned that oersin's house, shit-in was a much more accurate description! Hope you are well, dear Diane!!!

What am I doing today? Whatever it is, I'll be doing it with a decent level of energy. I feel much more rested than yesterday!
I am keeping my official goals small for today. One of my main plans is to spend at least 30 minutes going around looking for things that I have left out of place (yes, some of my "stuff" does actually have a place) and then putting them back into place before I lose them!
Hugs to all.

Beautiful day here too--cool and sunny! Have vacuumed my library including the couch, have completed two loads of laundry and then heading out to help a disabled person with grocery shopping. Hope to enjoy my new day by spending time with my sweetheart (hoping up get to a museum) and finishing my bathroom! Let us all feel good about ourselves today.

Today is a new day! The sky is blue with some mare's tails clouds and the temps are cool. Always lifts my spirits.
Today is maintaining and some extra exercise with the dogs. Tonight we have our last game at Camden Yards against the Yankees for the season. Even the most die-hard O's fans are honoring Derek Jeter's last game here.
Should be a great day. I hope yours will be too!

I'm very happy to see you Diane! You're needed here. As is Tillie.
Today is a new day! It felt like 2 days with a.m. rain and some p.m. sun. I scrubbed out litter boxes and washed dog crates. Made some soup and looking forward to an earlier bedtime.

Today is a new day ~ fresh and clean, clear and light!
I need to spend a little time readjusting my schedule. Having to do things outside the house means things slide around here. The Bare Bones Basics list is in place. I need to firm up outside work and appointments for the rest of the month and balance maintenance accordingly.
My Daily Project for today is to pay bills (scheduled for twice a month) and file or toss paper clutter which has grown on my desk.
Have a great day everyone!

Ah Tat, what a wonderful new thread, I SO needed this today!!
Yesterday morning I headed to the beach and was so distressed with what I found; broken furniture, missing things, etc. The people who were supposed to be managing and cleaning didn't do a very good job.
I just got back after another very mixed up day with many changes of plans for the coming week. Too much to complain about.
I feel very vulnerable without my hoard here. Stress feels multiplied when I can't be surrounded by my walls of protection.
A few chores to be done, bedtime and yes, tomorrow I'll get up and say ~~
TODAY IS A NEW DAY :)
