I sympathize with you. When you do find the resources you need, please post an update. Good luck to you and your family.

Thank you. I already went through the list, looked on every website I could find, and am feeling a little helpless. None are in the area, Hudson, Michigan. I thought that if someone was at least near Jackson (closest larger city) I could get them to come out. My sister is reluctant to receive services, and if she has to drive 90 minutes to see someone, it's never going to happen. And if it doesn't happen, there will never be any change. I was just hoping someone could tell me a company or some therapists who service the area. In addition, we need to rehome 40+ cats (I can get companies who will fix them, but no one will TAKE them). I am wondering if we should have just called CPS and animal control to begin with. So overwhelmed.

Hi Tracy,
So sorry to hear about all your trouble,

At the top of this page is a link named
"National Resources".
Click on it and then click on your state to find local listings of companies and counselors near you.

Best wishes, Tillie

We just found out my sister has been hoarding cats. After a visit to the house, the kids moved in with grandma. As a family we are trying to avoid legal trouble and do the clean-up ourselves. My sister and brother-in-law are compliant and helping in the clean-up. They love their kids and want them back. The house smells of animal waste. It can be smelled from the street. Carpets and padding have been removed. Subfloors are soaked with urine. Feces has been scraped off floors, walls, counters, etc. Bins, piles of clothes, trash, etc everywhere. All has been sprayed with urine. We have done a lot, but it's too much for us to do alone. I need the help of a company that can replace floors, fix walls, remove the stench, clean vents that are clogged with feces, etc...and I need a list of counselors that specialize in hoarding near Jackson, MI. This is much too overwhelming.
