Tracy, If she will not accept help from family or friends and you feel she is in danger, you may need to contact adult protective sevices. How have you tried to approach her so far?

Tracy, did you ever find any help for your mom? your situation sounds exactly like mine with my mom. I just found out how bad it is and I really feel like I need to do something. Her health is suffering. Please let me know if you were able to help her out. Shelley

My mom's hoarding is getting worse. She keeps making excuses as to why I can't come over. The last time I saw her, she smelled really bad. I'm pretty sure she is not taking a shower because the shower doesn't work. There is no running water. She might also not have a working toilet or refrigerator.
If I go over she will get really mad and not let me in and it will get ugly.
What does one do when sanitary issues and safety are an issue. Is there someone to call? My mom is highly intelligent but I believe the house could be falling apart and maybe needs to be condemned.
