Mare, Welcome!
I just checked out the book on Amazon that you quoted from in the Motivation thread and ordered it.
Thanks for pointing me in a positive direction. :)

Hello ladies.
I really appreciate this thread, thank you both for posting.
And its a new day! I, too, feel renewed in spirit thanks to all the posts on the site. I am well-rested and ready to go.
I will be reading and posting as the day goes by, and I see my therapist at 4, so excited to tell her about finding such a great support system here.

Barb, you absolutely can. You're right, the emotional work involved is draining.
What's good here is that we can make progress at our own pace. If we need to break from the work for awhile that's ok. For most of us we're not under extreme pressure. For those who are, we can offer encouragement and ideas.
Many of us have become isolated from family and friends. Here we have a community of people who have personal understanding of the struggles. We can get online at any time and be connected.
Hop over to the Daily Chat and let us know what you're doing.
take care :)

Thanks, Dianne. I have enjoyed reading over past posts, especially the ones where people shared their progress. I was pretty discouraged yesterday before I stumbled onto this site. Cleaning and decluttering is a lonely business. Breaking with the past by discarding old, well-used items is hard. Today I am renewed in spirit. If others can make progress, I can too.

You came to the right place Barb. Sounds like you already have a good chunk done and a good plan for other parts.
It will be tougher when you back to work but posting here will definitely help.
Welcome! :)

I am glad to have stumbled on to this support group. I have two weeks to try to get my house under control before I go back to work. I know that the whole house is not going to get done. I have the kitchen and bathroom clean and uncluttered. I can now live in the kitchen, bathroom and living room. My next job is to get paths through the living room to the kitchen, from the living room to the back door so I can let the dogs out into the fenced yard, and through the bedroom to the bathroom. I start tomorrow. On some days it is really tough to keep going. I could use some encouragement and some cheerleaders to celebrate my little victories. I am working with a really good counselor and am on an antidepressant and ADD medicine but I only see her every 3 weeks.
