My husband, age 68, has hundreds of everything. I can keep all his garage junk closed off, but he goes on sprees of buying expensive furniture. These are high-end reproductions of American colonial chairs, tables, chests, bureaus, etc. We have a modest 5 room house, each room filled with all the furniture it can comfortably hold. What to do? He won't sell any of it, or even give it to our children. He says they will inherit it when he dies. Our basement and attic are both filled to the brim, and now he is filling our elderly neighbor's empty garage, as the neighbor is in a nursing home. One other point: our children don't particularly want this furniture, or even have room for it. I value my space, and this is driving me crazy!
