Hello I agree with Tiklie. Try to find a patch to clean and clear. Don't get bogged down where to start. Pick a place and start. Bathroom sink and vanity maybe? Or maybe start by changing your sheets and making your bed? There's a lot to be said for having your bed made! And maybe then look at your sheet sets and get rid of all but two per bed? That might be a nice project. You will feel better--just try to do something. And keep us posted! We will cheer you on and help you through tough times!!!

Hello Mina :)

Two good books to help you are
"Buried In Treasures" and "Digging Out".

Also, if you do whatever you can do to improve even the smallest areas
seeing you accomplish this may inspire him to want to make some changes too.

Best of luck

I am taking responsibility for my hoarding issues starting today. i'm 99% sure that my husband is also a hoarder, but i don't think he's ready to admit it. i need someone to come i and help us get our house back! we need to make repairs so that we can sell the house next year when he retires, but, as it stands now, i don't think anyone would actually be able to make the repairs due to the filthy state of the house. i can't really set up someone to come help us clean and throw out stuff until he agrees we need to do that. how can i help him see that this problem is bigger that the both of us. both of us have depression, ocd, etc., as well as numerous physical problems...
