Hi Avery! Congratulations on your graduation!

I'm glad that you posted on here. Since you asked for advice, I can tell you where I would start. First, I'd make my bed. No matter how cluttered your room is, it will be nice to have your bed made. Even if that means you have to move stuff off of it to make it. There's something about a made bed that makes me feel better about myself every day. Second, get a bag and start tossing garbage. Coffee cups, food wrappers, old tissues, etc. third, start reading some of the posts on here. Knowing you are not alone and that others are in the same boat is very comforting.

What do you think about these ideas? Do you think they could help you get started?

I hope to hear from you!!! Also, feel free to join us on the daily chat/what are you doing today thread. It's a pretty active thread and everyone is nice and supportive.

I am a 17 year old girl, freshly graduated from highschool- with hopes to go to college in the fall. I live in a beautiful home with my parents, and I have a brother who comes home on weekends from university. I have a huge issue with keeping my room clean, and it's not an average teenage mess.
I feel so much anxiety over moving anything around in my room I'm constantly walking in my clothes and breaking my things and even my dog is too scared to enter. When my brother isn't home I often end up filling his space with my junk as well and I leave a trail where ever I go in the house. I have seen therapists about this for a very long time and my parents say they will not help to send me to college In September of i cannot prove that I can live and function on my own in a house to myself. I need to prove to them that I can keep my belongings tidy but I don't know where to start! Help! I'm a teenage hoarder!
