back up post

Hi Allison :)

I've been reading your posts over on the other message board and you seem to be getting some good advice there.
What I would do (and this is just a suggestion & you don't need to do it this way)
is to decide how many boxes of stuff I could reasonable stack in the bedroom, fill them with all the unique and unruined items, only the best.
Then when that number of boxes are filled I would have to let the rest of those potential art projects go.
Then once settled you can start finishing making and selling the ones you have saved.
You are talented enough to find more unique treasures and will have your inventory down to a more manageable level by then.
Good luck with the new roommate. :)

I have had issues in the past with hoarding. I downsized a lot, made a free yardsale one day and gave away most of my belongings. When I moved I started making more money and buying things....

Now I'm drowning again. I'm moving in a few days. I have given away or sold about 30% but each time I look at my things I panic.

I'm moving in with a roommmate and I want to make a good impression, and I have stopped buying for the last 2 months! I'm happy about that and have every intention to keep that up.

It's a two bedroom apartment, I get one decent sized room, and we have shared living areas.

What amount of boxes is "normal" for 1 person to have for moving into a shared apartment? What amount will make my new roommate stare at me in disbelief?

I don't hoard trash or anything unsanitary. It's mostly bits and pieces I plan to do some art with or sell, and clothing. I know I need to downsize. that. I'm including a pic (not me) to give a size reference of my boxes. How many of these is normal and how many is horrible? Help!
